That being said, abuse is far more rampant with illegal immigrants as they can not seek legal relief. When you have LEGAL IMMIGRANTS, they have to pay taxes, they have the rights of other Americans (thus if there is minimum wage everyone has to play by the same rules). Restriction of labor is more mercantilism/protectionist, as opposed to free market.

Which is why if you lift all restrictions on immigration (besides for reasonable ones such as criminals etc) you would have a lot more legal immigration, which would inherently create jobs as the immigrants would need to buy things and they would do crappy things the rest of US dont want to do for cheap prices, so we can afford things. And when you say things like Mao, you are just being ignorant. There is no great leap here, there is no quotas or great leap forward. And what is even more ironic with your statement, is that China's economy is growing. And China owns a lot of our debt. To explain, in 1920 there would have been X number of foreign born people already in the US. These are people who have already immigrated into the US. Restrictions on immigration would not reduce their number as they are already here. The only thing that would reduce would be emigration or deportation. So the graph is absolutely right because it is counting immigration per year, not how many immigrants are already in the US. Foreign born is a different statistic. That is how many are currently living in the US, not how many immigrate on a yearly basis.

Its simple economics, when you screw with the supply of labor you artificially increase the cost of labor. That means companies go to other markets for labor where there is not inefficient regulation. The NY Super Bowl will be the test. If its a cold game and iconic/money maker, they wont care if the next Super Bowl is played in Anchorage. If the NY Super Bowl suffers due to weather, no way Chicago ever gets it. I personally think that it will do well, but its a hard one to guess, because I can not recall a major football event that has been held on a neutral field in the cold. Even the Big 10 went for Indy, although that was partially due to the nonsense that is involved when you deal with Chicago and the Park District.

Youll never know where the path goes if you dont take the first step. Sounds like a stupid cliche, but youd be surprised how many successful people started down the wrong path, only to end up where they were always meant to be.

Its always hard to tell when the US doesnt put their full line up out there to start (I think Dempsey only played 2nd half), they arent nearly as deep as a team as Brazil. That being said, there were moments where the US squad actually looked faster/more fit than Brazil. Obviously US isnt going to compete with a team like Brazil on the ball, so if they can be more athletic, at least it gives them a shot when they play EPL style (long over the top attacking).

If Im Doc Im out to see how much the NBA will fine me for criticizing refs. Even if some of the calls are legit, I just wouldnt care at this point. There is no way the Celtics win the series if the Heat shoot 40+ fts consistently.
