  1. Sox have had up and down attendance since the 1994 strike. White Trade was the first year where people were starting to accept the team again and then a kick in the nads that was Mike Caruso.
  2. Ive seen a few international names, 2 dutch, 2 italian and Jurgen. The only guy Id be adamantly opposed to is Arena or basically any US coach.
  3. If the hold up is Dayan being injured what the f*** is wrong with this front office. How do you hold up a trade for a guy that hasnt even had a single AB in the majors this season. Just put Rios in RF with De Aza at CF with Lilli as back up until Dayan is ready. You dont miss on a trade because a guy is injured. Unless the Sox are still thinking that they can move pieces and win the division, which is a difficult task for an elite front office, let alone the Sox.
  4. Im not a huge Kreutz fan, so as long as the Bears find a decent replacement Im not really concerned.
  5. Ha what? You think Kreutz would drop them to only winning 4-5 games?
  6. If Sox are about to eat a ton of money on Rios that would make sense that they wanted to clear Teahen's salary to free up cash to pay to the other team.
  7. I did read your post and the implication was that he wasnt anywhere in BA, because you were responding to a post that said he was in some top 10s for the Blue Jays. Hes in the top 10 for BA, so I wanted to clarify. I never said he was top 100, and as a 24 y/o it makes sense as the top 100 is generally skewed towards youth.
  8. Never said that he appeared in ba's top 100, just your post made it appear that BA hadnt rated him at all, when they clearly have put him in the top 10 of the Jays system.
  9. Thats not true, here is baseball america's ranking from the end of last year: http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prosp...11/2610895.html 5. Zach Stewart, rhp Best Fastball Zach Stewart TOP PROSPECTS OF THE DECADE 2010 Zach Stewart, rhp Blue Ja
  10. Stewart was favorably compared to Drabek by some scouts and in many cases he has been previously rated higher than Drabek. Hes 24 and started a few games for Toronto. Seemingly a ground ball pitcher who could be serviceable back end of the rotation player.
  11. I dont think the Sox traded Jackson for way less than hes worth. They got 3 things of value: A) Starting pitching prospect. Not an elite cant miss, but seemingly a serviceable player who can either be a 5 or a mr. He will be under team control for years and cheap. B) Getting rid of Teahen. That is payroll flexibility. C) Getting a rh MR which they wanted to compete this year. The problem is that b/c seemingly dont make sense. Either you are throwing in the towel or you are going for it. The Sox are trying to do both. Which (imo) generally does not end well. But in terms of value, Im not sure Jackson really could fetch more because hes a 2 month rental. The only way would have been to get a Boston/Yankee bidding war, because both of those teams could resign Jackson and potentially overpay.
  12. Just saw a Brewers fan (on another site) stating there are some rumors of Gamel and the Sox.
  13. As others have speculated i think that the Sox passed on Rasmus, Thats why last night this trade made no sense for the Blue Jays, but now that its all finalized it seems that the Sox could have had Rasmus, but didnt want him. They then probably went to other teams trying to get a third party whod take Rasmus.
  14. Rock, I just wonder what the haul for Jackson would have been if it was strictly spects. If this was a complete rebuild you dont add Frasor, you just see who will give you the most spects.
  15. Heads, This trade was a buy and sell. Which is also part of the Sox problem, they dont have any real direction, just middling.
  16. As I said previously if the reports on the STL deal are true, the Sox could have had Rasmus. I have a feeling after watching this year the last thing JR wanted was another perceived malcontent. It just seems to me the Sox didnt want Rasmus.
  17. Steve, Sox clearly didnt want Rasmus. My guess is that JR and Larussa spoke and JR told Kenny that he did not want Rasmus, Which is how Toronto got involved.
  18. I believe Stewart started a few games for the Blue Jays this year, so hes definitely close to MLB ready. And if the Sox trade Floyd, etc he could be part of the rotation.
  19. Good luck to Jackson, he always seemed like a good guy in the clubhouse and it seemed he knew how to have a good time. If Boras wasnt his agent I think he may have resigned here.
  20. I think when all the dust settles Stewart may be in the rotation this year.
  21. Stewart is a surprisingly better spect than I thought KW would get. Its looking like Blue Jays fell in love with Rasmus and needed Jackson to get er done (or Blue Jays are insane)
  22. Unfortunate as Jackson is seemingly a good guy. I guess we now wait on the prospect, maybe its good and everyone seems silly. Our only hope is that Toronto was in love with Rasmus and Jackson was the only way to acquire him and we actually got to force their hand.
  23. Steve, If it was Thornton, Jackson + prospect, the prospect had to be Viciedo otherwise the savings versus trading Teahen instead of Thornton just isnt great enough. Unless the spect the Sox are getting is dynomite.
  24. Steve, There were some rumors yesterday that Lilli was hurt in batting practice, which would make a lot more sense for De Aza to be replacing. I understand Teahen played RF some times, but the Sox would still have 4 of's (if you include Lilli unless hes hurt). The pen has been pretty used up, youd think if an arm was being dealt for sure, the first order of business would be to recall a guy like Santiago (just in case) and then after the trade is finalized send him down and call uo De Aza. No rush to call up De Aza.
