Yes I agree that we should just sit on the sidelines while terrible things happen because if we intervene other people may die. So instead we should let certain people kill other people, because at least that way some people survive regardless of how terrible they are. If your position is that we should let tyrants kill people, because in attempting to stop them, we may kill innocent people, we just have a fundamental difference of opinion on what the reaction should be to genocide.

I wouldnt say stopping the systematic killing and raping of innocent civilians is "pointless", but to each their own.

GAME THREAD 6/9/11: OAK @ CWS, 7:10pm

A batter should never appeal to the first base ump, I dont think the home plate was going to call that a strike. Its up to the catcher to ask for an appeal. -

Clever play by Rios, he slowed slightly to screw the 3b -

I think Rios is trying to shorten his swing and just make contact. Dunn gets hit!!! haha he didnt even try and move -
Well there are 2 parts to the Club, there is the all you can eat buffet and then there are things you can order (Hamburgers, Carving station etc.) The food isnt free, but its considerably better than the stadium food and its a fun experience.

Lebon just doesnt bring it hard to the hole anymore. Kaboom.

The chains like Chipotle and Qdoba arent open late, but there are tons of small Mexican places that are open seemingly 24 hours. I know that I had an impressively large enchilada dinner at a Mexican restaurant by the Irving Park Red Line stop at 5 am or so.

Taco Burrito king on Broadway (I think) really delivered a few weeks ago. But not all of them are created equal. As to the $1 subs, I walked past a store at 10:30 and people were in line, I had no idea why. When I found out it was for $1 sub, I determined that Id rather pay than wait in line.

The Bulls had their chances, they just didnt capitalize. Miami is not the juggernaut people make them out to be.. If the Bulls do nothing, and just come back with 1 more year of experience they are going to have a chance against Miami as it is currently comprised.

I generally am pretty forgiving with players, but something is really wrong with Pierre's defense. Hes getting bad reads on a lot of hits, and many times going towards the wall he just jumps in the air, not even making a play on the ball. That has nothing to do with speed, so its strange.

6/8 GT - SOX vs Mariners - 7:10pm CSN

Soxfan, You know some GM's prefer the slg part of ops to the obp part. As to the rest, I never said small ball and quite frankly not every team in the NL plays small ball. It was just an off the cuff comment about how id basically take any type of offense, provided it was actually good at what it did. -

The Sox have 2 batters around 200, so you were saying? (edit) What I was getting at is I have no problem with less power, they just cant suck at getting on base too. Pierre is terrible at taking walks, Morel is terrible at taking walks. Rios could be better, but that was just a miss. -

The team doesnt exist, but that is the goal of creating a NL style offense, high batting average and high obp. The Sox offense does neither of those things well, I was merely stating that if I could trade the Sox offense for an offense that got a ton more hits and was better on base, Id gladly give up some hrs, because I just cant stand watching a game and hoping that we hit 2-3 hrs or else we cant score. Its just frustrating. -

lol I love how people try and make you have an absurd argument. As if I would actually argue I prefer a NL offense to a Yankees offense, or a productive Al offense. The comparison is with the current WHITE SOX offense. -

Where have I said that I would prefer NL style to an actual AL offense? I said Id prefer a team that can get on base a lot compared to OUR CURRENT OFFENSE. You really prefer the White Sox offense, to a team that averaged over 300 and got on base at a 370+ clip and scored a bunch of runs? I couldnt disagree more. Sox offense is pathetic this year. -

Because im sick of watching station to station baseball with a bunch of guys who cant get on base or hit hrs. Id rather they did something well, than nothing well. -

I think Dunn is posting in this thread, because only Dunn would believe that hed some how get a shot with the bases loaded, absent some sort of plague that effected the entire Sox team. -

Please not Granderson for Danks. Im sorry but the Sox havent exactly had great success with low contact power guys. Right now Id kill to have a NL style team that could get on base a lot and make things happen. Unfortunately what makes the Sox most like a NL line up is the fact they are trotting out a guy who hits like a pitcher. -

Viciedo isnt on the team, Im not counting players that cant actually be in the line up. -

It wasnt a bad pitch by Santos actually, Olivo just was better. The problem is that Pierre shouldnt be near a baseball field defensively. He makes playing the outfield look impossible. The optimal line up right now has Lilli over Pierre, have CQ in RF/DH and one of Dunn/Pierre rotating who the crappy lefty is. -

You guys can aim for the stars with Viciedo, but Lilli is already on the team and Ozzie refuses to play him over Pierre. Its like Pierre doesnt even know how to play of, its really odd. -

Santos really got away with one, but Ryan was struggling on the fastball so just the speed of that pitch got him. But it caught a ton of plate.
