  1. Korver and Boozer is a recipe for bad defense
  2. When Taj is in the game against James Jones its a huge advantage for the Bulls. Bulls just need to stay focused on offense and get good shots.
  3. They have Lebron at the 5 on defense on a few possessions.
  4. James Jones at the 4, with Bosh at the 5? Bulls have to take advantage on the offensive end. Mood: Cautiously optimistic This is the biggest game since the MJ era, its hard to believe that basketball is really back in Chicago.
  5. This defensive line up is giving the Heat trouble, they are just switching so the pick isnt as big of a deal.
  6. Im not mad, but your ridiculous posts are a joke. Why would I be mad, Miami is clearly winded after just running up the court a few times. Rose just needs to play a little and get in the game, hes got the talent he just needs to take the pressure and turn it into focus.
  7. lol Youre a joke. The game is early, Rose has never played in a game this big before, hes going to make some mistakes. Bulls just need to keep it close and get over the nerves.
  8. I think the Bulls are fine with a 1-1 start, but I also believe that if Miami is down 1-0 the pressure will begin to mount on them, especially when they realize if they lose the next game they are down 2-0, meaning theyd have to win 4 of the next 6 games. If the Bulls can get the Heat to press, I think they can win. But the Bulls are going to need to bring their A game 4 times this series, because they wont beat Miami playing sloppy.
  9. The Bulls need to come out on fire tonight, if they can stun the Heat with a combination of intensity and the United center, you hope that the expectations and pressure begin to mount on the Heat.
  10. Well the premise of the thread was how could the Sox lose money, and I think most were arguing that the Sox spent more money this year and if they make less money than last year, they surely can lose money this year. Anything else ive said is just because this is mere speculation and everyone is entitled to their opinion, just hard to react positively when its presented as a fact.
  11. Once again Ive used Forbes numbers as a baseline in every statement that Ive made. Just because you guys want to use it as the holy grail does not mean that I can not factually point out that Forbes numbers are merely speculation. I have yet to see any evidence that Forbes actually looked at the White Sox books. So as Ive said multiple times, its only speculation. I dont really see what the point of this thread is, you have people using speculative numbers to argue about something thats purpose is to provoke people. I guess I just am annoyed when people act like they are presenting facts, when its entirely speculation. It may be the best information that we have, but it is still not a fact, its a guess.
  12. Forbes is guessing too, they are just putting it in a prettier package. Even if you use the Forbes numbers it doesnt account for taxes, depreciation, interest, etc (this is the notation that is right on their own numbers), so my $5-10mil range is including those factors they dont add in. /shrugs They dont even indicate how they came up with their figures, did the White Sox give them access to their books?
  13. The only thing that matters about the regular season is that because the Bulls have beat the Heat already, they know they have a chance and all they have to do is win at home. You win in the regular season so that when you get to a series like this, you have the home team hopefully putting the refs in your favor to win those close games. The Bulls biggest advantage is that you hope with home court you get off to a 1-0 start and the pressure starts to fall on the other team.
  14. There are many different methodologies for valuation, and the extra value of the Astros most likely has to do with scarcity. There are only 30 professional major league teams and most of them are not for sale. So if you actually want to buy a baseball team you generally pay a premium, which is an amount in excess of the actual value of the product. I expect the Sox make money, I just think its more likely in the range of $5-$10mil every year, which really isnt that substantial of a figure. The Sox dont have a stadium they can take loans against, so they have to funds.
  15. They havent trademarked them, they have applied for trademarks (3 of them actually). The US govt could conceivably reject the trademark. In fact I looked up "Navy Seal" and every trademark had been abandoned (Orion Pictures tried to TM for video games). So its clear the US govt wont let you copyright their terms, its just a question of whether Seal Team 6 is a term used by the US govt. My guess is that Disney will do a movie about a pack of 6 seals but thats just to easy for them.
  16. Obviously the website does not let me look at their methodology. Something doesnt seem right but without actually having the data they are using its impossible to tell.
  17. And the Sox increased payroll this year... Running a business isnt about hoping for best case scenarios every year, if they want to be successful over long periods of time they will need to make profit some years. Do you want them to run negative?
  18. Its better than arguing about the Heat Bulls series. And Felix, sometimes you make good arguments but when you purposefully try and incite people its easy to forget them.
  19. I watched every game they played, Pippen isnt the scorer Wade is (and Im probably the hardest on Wade in this thread). In 93 without Jordan, Pippen averaged 22 pts per game (the highest of his career). His highest points per 36 was 20.7 (same year) In comparison Dwayne Wade ha only averaged under 24 points 1 time in his career (rookie year). His highest points per 36 was 28 (the year he lead the league in average points scored per game). While Jordan is better than Lebron, I dont think Jordan was so much better to offset that Wade is better than Pippen. Like I said, its "probably" true, but it would be arguable either way. I just dont think the greatness of Pippen/Jordan was that they could outscore anyone.
  20. Maybe his article meant to imply that Wade/Lebron are a better scoring pair than Pippen and Jordan (which is probably true).
  21. Those are your conservative numbers based on speculation and using averages. And even if we use $250 as revenue, you have $120 mil of just salary expenses at the major league level. That leaves $130 mil to run the entire business, and Im not sure youve convinced anyone about the operating expenses.
