  1. Well Michael and Scottie havent played for 10 years or so... Now if he meant in their prime the guy should probably never be able to write a basketball column again because I would think that while you could argue Lebron could play on the same court as Pippen or Jordan, Im not sure how the smaller Wade would really factor in.
  2. Youre probably overestimating revenue and underestimating costs. The White Sox have employees and staff 365 days a year. The Sox have a spring training facility that costs money. We just have no idea how much it costs for things like transportation, travel and other operating costs.
  3. I think we need an avatar where a bull is goring the wade and bosh in the groin while Lebron cries and the Bull would have the Body of Asik and the face of Rose, to make the most beautiful beast in the world. Now that would be an avatar to remember.
  4. That lady asked such a stupid question. Who does Rose think Chicago fans will root for, Wade or Rose? Really?
  5. If the Bulls can play this well 8 more times they have a good chance at walking away champions.
  6. If I owned a professional franchise I would hire professional wrestlers to teach my players how to fall. You cant try and brace with your arm, you have to fall like Deng where he just lands on his back. It will sting and hurt, but unlikely youll break an arm
  7. Asik proving that he has game on and off the court. Im so glad the Bulls didnt trade him, he just makes me smile.
  8. I carry a balance on my credit card but its mainly because I want to have liquid assets and not worry about stuff. My apr is under 10% and my balance isnt very high, you just have to know how to handle your own finances. A lot of the reason I do it is because I want to be able to enjoy things today even though I wont be making a lot of money for a few years. (Im not talking a huge amount of debt) It just makes no sense to me that when Im older Ill have a ton of money but didnt get to do fun things right now because of 10%interest. Not everyone's financial condition is the same, but carrying a balance isnt necessarily the worst thing if you know youre own financial situation. Id rather not pay the extra 10%, but having the flexibility of that extra money is really nice.
  9. Yeah Stewart really was on point with his arguments.
  10. Bulls need to really take it to the Hawks to start and just break their spirit. I dont want another close game.
  11. Using a credit card seems more real to me because most of the cash I have is petty cash so its basically "free" money in my mind. When I have to use my credit card it actually means that I am paying for it. I have a Chase Mastercard, it had the lowest apr and the best rewards. Chase can be pretty unforgiving but my one dispute they resolved in my favor and I dont miss payments etc, so I dont really have issues.
  12. Maybe Dunn was waiting for Peavy to join the team.
  13. When Im using the term "choke" Im not talking about the series, I think over the series Miami was going to win. I definitely think Boston choked away a chance to at least take the series to 6 games.
  14. Rose gets a ton of calls too, thats how the NBA works. Doent mean fans cant be frustrated about how horribly inconsistent NBA reffing is.
  15. Fortunately for the Bulls Chicago as champion was pretty successful for the NBA. But really the Bulls need to get there first. Focus on the Hawks.
  16. Bulls need to worry about the Hawks, if they can beat the Hawks theyll get their shot at Miami. Everyone is really in love with Miami but Boston had some chances to win the last 2 games, they just played horrible. This series was more about Boston being bad than how great the Heat were. Not many teams will win games when the other team has 18 more free throws.
  17. If they play Rose he wont be option 3 or 4. Kind of different when Miami is focusing on Allen, Pierce and KG. I would expect Wade or Lebron on Rose.
  18. Id leave Pierce on the court with 4, id dare the refs to give him 6 fouls
  19. It's of course fun to look into the future, Im just tired of people either overhyping the Heat or being overly negative about the Heat. It just seems that there is little middle ground when it comes to them. I think they are going to be a solid team and they definitely may win championship(s), I just also think they have some issues and Im not entirely sold on the team dynamic.
  20. Well I agree that people can have interpretations, but I also believe that there is a more correct interpretation (basically thinking back to English classes when theyd make you read books etc and youd get graded on your interpretation.) I thought it was really clear because I caught it on the first time I read it. Maybe its not so clear, but its not a big deal either way. As for "nine-power" or "back strap" once again there is a literal interpretation or a figurative interpretation. The literal (imo) meaning is a surface interpretation, the figurative meaning (that his words are his weapon) is the deeper hidden meaning. I obviously have no way of proving this as I am not the artist, but all I can go by is what I know about Common and his rap style. Common is not well known for being an actual gangster who was involved in gun fights. Hes thought of more as a poetic ideologist. Due to that, I believe that he is using ideas that people on the street would understand, but hes trying to make them realize that we all possess the most dangerous weapon to a govt, our words and our minds. In order to understand you have to look at the full song: Whatcha gon do if ya got one gun? I sing a song for the hero unsung These lyrics are what set up the entire piece. If you only have a gun (a weapon), how can you change the world? That is the question Common is asking. Now we move on to Common referring to his weapon: "Tell the law, my Uzi weighs a ton" Does Common mean his actual Uzi? Or does Common mean that his words are an uzi, that the statements he makes weigh a ton. I believe that the second reading is the more appropriate reading. Once you understand that the gun is figurative for his lyrics, the rest of the song makes perfect sense. Its just like any other literary work, often times the words literal meaning is nothing more than a cursory understanding , whereas the deeper meaning is found in the figurative elements.
  21. I just think its pretty hard to predict next year, let alone 3-5 years from now. If the Heat are in the finals the next 2 years, Id start to agree, but as of now, they havent even made 1 NBA final. Its just way to speculative for me.
  22. Art is of course subjective, but thats why your argument that you need to have the rapper himself state it, was bogus. If I read it and that was my interpretation, it was what it was. As for peaceful, read the last line of the song: I hold up a peace sign, but I carry a gun. Pretty clear to me the statement is, that while I am for peace, I carry a gun to protect myself. In my opinion the gun isnt even a real gun, its his lyrics which are the weapon. As for the NJ police, do you think they were upset about the song Hurricane? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_%28song%29 Because Im pretty sure that the law has come out on the side of Rubin Carter and Im not sure that there is a law against people believing another man was wrongly convicted.
  23. Because you in fact did compare the Heat to those teams. You said that the Heat were going to be like the Bulls, I said that was a stretch as I did not think the Heat would win 6 titles. I then showed in the era where Jordan played basically only 5 teams won Championships and that the Heat (as of today) were not on the same level. You then went on to say that I was selling the Heat team short, by not putting them on the same level as those teams. I keep insisting on it, because that was the implication of your post. I dont see what the point in arguing about what the Heat could be in 3-5 years. All Ive said is that in 3-5 years, I would be able to say whether they are on the same level as those teams. But unlike you, Im not just going to start making championship banners for the Heat.
  24. Its just ridiculous to say that the Heat are on the same level as teams who won multiple championships. It would have been like saying that the Magic with Shaq and Penny were on the same level as the teams I mentioned. Shaq is going to be a monster, Penny is unbelievable, the Magic will never lose. How many titles did they win? You cant put the Heat in the same sentence as teams who won multiple titles, until the Heat win multiple titles. (edit) They have the potential to win multiple titles, but potential doesnt always translate to winning anything. Right now the Heat have done nothing to prove that they are on that level.
