  1. Really? Im selling a Heat team short who has 0 titles by not putting then on the same level as 5 teams who won multiple titles. If in 10 years the Heat has 2-3 titles, then Ill put them up there.
  2. You cant just assume the Bulls would have won the 2 years Jordan was gone. Im happy with what we got.
  3. Going to be in the way was somewhat unique to the Bulls and Jordan years. When I hear that referred to, I think of HOF players like Karl Malone, etc who couldnt win a championship because of the Bulls. Im not sure if the Heat are going to be so good that they basically shut out a generation of superstars from winning a title. During the Jordan dominant years 2 teams won titles, Bulls and Rockets. From 1983- 1998 only 5 teams won Championships, Celtics, Lakers, Pistons, Bulls, Rockets. I just dont see the Heat on the same level as the teams I listed above.
  4. Jenks, Really, you have to find an interview where the artist explicitly explains what his art means? Come on, your way to intelligent to act like you cant read the lyrics and put the pieces together. But since you need context to prove my point, here is some of the conversation with Hannity, the person Im quoting is JAMES PETERSON, PROFESSOR, BUCKNELL UNIVERSITY http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/hannity/tran...ted-white-house Now before I did this search, I had never heard of Peterson, I had actually never even heard the Common song (Common is not one of my favorite rappers, but I do know that he widely considered as one of the more though provoking rappers, to illustrate this point you can refer to Jay-Z's Moment of Clarity where he said that if he wanted he could rap like Common, but that he would not make as much money). So when I heard that Common was causing problems, I was somewhat shocked because Common really isnt that controversial as a person. The allusion was clear to me and that was on my first reading of the song. Im not sure how people could miss the allusion, but I think that the people who dont want Common in the White House, dont really care about what he said, they care more about the image he portrays (successful rap artist who has the audacity to write lyrics that challenge the establishment in an intelligent and critical way). I dont see what the beef is here. Balta, I dont think you understand, who cares if Ozzie actually did illegal things, Common wrote a rap song that used a really clever comment about George Bush, so he should be banned from the White House.
  5. Heat did enough not to give the game back to Boston. But Lebron's turnover with the game tied and giving the Celtics a chance to win on the final possession was pretty horrific. If I was a Heat fan Id be really worried about that type of nonsense. Its one thing to throw up a prayer and go to OT, its another to actually give the other team a chance to win. Im not sure what Lebron's deal is, I think hes just putting to much pressure on himself. That in part leads to Wade sometimes being misused because Lebron is hell-bent on scoring or making up for the play before.
  6. Well the Bulls were a better constructed team than the Heat. Even if you just look at the top 3 players on each team, the Bulls were better constructed. The Bulls did not have the question of "Who is the finisher" or "Who should have the ball in their hands more", the answer was Jordan. Pippen is a better second player to a superstar than Wade. Then we could get even deeper into the argument and compare why a guy like Paxson was invaluable, why the Bulls had more height and depth than the Heat at Center. I just dont see it as a very apt comparison, because the Bulls were carefully crafted over years, whereas the Heat were hastily put together in an off-season. Everyone knew the Heat would be good, I just never thought they would be 72 wins good (which played itself out this year), maybe as they progress and add parts, but the team that is out there right now is not a dynasty level team.
  7. The Heat arent on the same planet as the 90's Bulls. Before we start proclaiming them as champions, maybe they should earn it first? The Heat are good, but if you gave me the choice of facing any of the Bulls championship squads or the Heat, Id take the Heat.
  8. If the bulls and heat play, i cant see it going any less than 6 games. A Bulls- Heat series may generate better ratings and more revenue than the actual finals.
  9. Its interesting that some one brought up the Kings and Trailblazers losing to the Lakers, both of those series have games where the reffing has been questioned. If the Bulls and Hear play it could go either way. Unlike the Kings or Traiblazers the Bulls have a lot more cache and I think the refs will keep it pretty even.
  10. I think the Heat would be the toughest match up the Bulls have yet to face.
  11. The sad part is that Burn a Bush is witty word play with the imagery of the burning bush and Moses with the 10 commandments. He is comparing Bush to Moses, asking how can we follow Bush (like Moses) if Bush is corrupt? He then argues that the govt is trying to keep black people down (his opinion) and that while he is an advocate for peace, he carries a gun for protection. Where have I heard that people should be allowed to carry guns for protection before? Where have I heard the message that Obama is someone we shouldnt follow. Artists shock people with imagery for the most resonance.
  12. haha thats what I thought, it was funny when Rose referred to Taj as a kid. What % is Rose and Josh Smith shooting from mid range this series? Josh Smith normally shoots better, this series he is shooting horrible.
  13. Why? If Elton John can perform with Eminem, I can get over it too. What does it matter who Obama invites to the White House? Any celebrity isnt half as bad as some of the dignitaries who go to lavish dinners while their people suffer.
  14. Im usually not pessimistic but the Bulls have been living on the edge all season (imo). They kept coming up with big wins in the 4th, but when you are the superior team there is no reason to put yourself in that position. It is only going to get tougher from here and its hard to watch a team that could be much better, sometimes struggle so badly.
  15. If Obama invited Eminem who has gay slurs in his songs to the White House, I wouldnt care. There is a big difference between what is in a song (art) and what the person believes. My comparison is completely valid, you are attacking an artist for the views they portray in their art. And the only thing I said about the first amendment was that people should remember it goes both ways. Once again I dont find it problematic at all, Common is a rapper who has a song with controversial lyrics. As long as he doesnt act on those lyrics and they are just part of art.
  16. Time to wake the f*** up, this team just doesnt seem to understand they cant just hope to win in the 4th. Also why does Thib never change the line up, just throws the same thing out there and hopes it goes differently.
  17. Not sure, it would really depend on the circumstances. And I would hope Chicago would get a new team to replace them.
  18. Bulls need to find the killer instinct that made the Jordan teams great. When you have a team on the ropes, you need to bury them. This team to often lets the other team keep it close.
  19. I dont care what other people would be saying if a country singer sang a song about the death of Obama. I know what id be saying, and id say if GWB wanted to invite an artist to the White House, so be it. As for the PR, it would be like saying that inviting Clint Eastwood to the White House is bad PR because he directed controversial movies or was a bad guy in a film. Do you think the people of California are aware that one time Arnold played a Soviet police officer? Or should we be concerned that Ronald Reagan played a mob boss? Most people understand what art is, at least I would hope.
  20. If Bogans played this assertively on offense all the time, the Bulls would be a lot better
  21. Good start, Rose looking like maybe the ankle issues are behind him.
  22. Sounds like some Conservatives are unhappy with Common coming to the White House. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/la-pn-r...0,7767809.story Im not sure if they understand what the First Amendment is.
  23. lol And I just read an article on him but I thought that was part of your signature. I actually thought the joke was about how many basketball players have brought guns to arenas, which was a surprisingly interesting point when I thought about it. Perfect storm for idiotic hilarity on my part.
