  1. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=55802 I suggest finding alternative transportation if you use this station. According to the radio, the situation is over. But they are not giving any updates on when the trains will start to run.
  2. Right now the entire station is completely locked down due to a shooting. If you use this station, try and find alternative transportatation home for December 8, 2006. There is no word on when the station will re-open. I was right in front of there at about 3:25-3:30 and the scene was very chaotic. People were running out of the building and the street was completely shut down.
  3. Well FSU is basically my second favorite team, so the fact that getting him would prevent UF and Miami from landing him makes it even sweeter. This last week has been really crazy for Wisconsin, and if this is how Beilema is going to recruit Wisconsin may be on its way to building a national program with staying power. At this point I would say most Wisconsin fans would doing backflips if they can just land Clay or Martin, preferably Clay imo. The word on Clay is that OSU wants to switch him to D, and that Iowa has started to make a run at him. The people from the Wisconsin area say Clay is leaning towards Wisconsin, but that he wants the Badgers to take one of his friends from the team as well.
  4. You can send me tickets any time. I grew up in the BG and can remember when Grandprix Car Wash first opened its doors. And now the real reason why we had to cut payroll becomes apparent, they went out and bought all these MP3 players. hehe
  5. Chimpy, What Im hearing on Rolle is as follows: Henry's youth pastor posts at Wisconsin's Rivals site. He said that he has a "Gut" feeling that Rolle is going to verbal to Wisconsin after Henry did. On Wisconsin's Scout boards there is a FSU poster, who said: Most are saying its now down to UF and UW, with Miami being a dark horse with the new HC selection. Would be impressive to take a UF guy out of Florida.
  6. Deion also helped Hester who was a Hurricane. http://www.blacksportsnetwork.com/articles...ster_090305.asp
  7. 16mil, wow. Free agency is getting crazy, the guy is 42.
  8. A-Rod said that Jeter was a number 2 hitter. Which in some circles is a slight, as it infers that Jeter is not a 3-4 hitter.
  9. I like Young's intangibles. Leinart has done more than I thought, but playing for a team like AZ he is getting tons of throwing opportunities, and since he plays down a lot the other teams are more willing to give up the short pass. It will be interesting how he does in the future if AZ becomes better and teams start making him throw over the top. Cutler NA, when he was first starting to get hype he reminded me of Boller. He looked much better than that in his first game, but who knows.
  10. Pretty big day in Wisconsin football recruiting, Soft verbal by CJ Peake 4 star safety Verbal from Aaron Henry 3 star DB Verbal from Zach Brown 3 star RB (may project to FB) (Edit) Add in a verbal from Marion Goins 3 star DB They also are hoping for Henry's teammate Rolle from Immokalee HS As of now the Badgers have 2 top backs left that they have a chance at, Dale Martin and John Clay.
  11. When I posted it was much closer. Hence "early results"
  12. I used the word "Knew". Now if only an "idiot" would believe that, why has the federal govt not been able to indict Bonds for perjury? He stated under oath that he did not knowingly take steriods. The fed has tried unsuccessfully to indict him for perjury. Indictments almost are automatic in a normal case, you dont even have to abide by the rules of evidence and the defense does not get to refute any claims, and the prosecution does not have to provide any exculpatory evidence. The fact that they cant get an idictment makes it very hard for me to believe that there is all this overwhelming evidence that Bonds knowingly took steriods. I guess you will be applying for a job as an Asst. United States Prosecutor though and will be the one to finally break the case against Bonds? Because as you said only "an idiot" would believe me, so you should be able to easily convince 12 people that they are not idiots? Or do you just hate Bonds and dont care about facts or reality?
  13. I thought the same thing SS2k, but early results are showing that its close.
  14. The 2 instances I mentioned arent speculation. He did not play in either of those games and that is what his manager said at the time. The mp3 player etc are, thats why I listed them as "stories". Just as it is speculation what Bonds knew about using steroids.
  15. You seem to be missing my point. Williams said that Floyd is fixable. That means that he is basing his evaluation on Floyd's ability to be coached, not his talent level. The entire coaching is dependent on Cooper. As an example: I have no problem with the Sox acquiring Gio and other players who do not need to be "fixed" without asking their pitching coach. But when they are giving up one of our starters in the belief that our pitching coach can fix him, I think that it would be common sense to ask the pitching coach whether or not he thinks that there is a problem that can be fixed.
  16. Yeah it scares me that they didnt talk to Coop about this deal. The entire plan is that Floyd is fixable, yet Williams is not any sort of pitching coach. I would have preferred if Cooper atleast said something along the lines of, "Floyd is a guy that can be a difference maker, he is one you should target." Otherwise its basically just Williams blind faith in a pitcher improving when they come to the Sox.
  17. Strangely you fail to mention the fact that no one has ever said a word about Bonds desire to play and to show up and work every day. Where as many times "Manny being Manny" means that he has come down with mystery illness, etc, that prevent him from playing in meaningful games. September 4, 2003 - Manny refuses to pinch hit in a game against Philadelphia, angering manager Grady Little, who benches him the next game. July 27, 2005 - With Trot Nixon out with an injury to his leg, manager Terry Francona approaches Ramirez about playing on what was to be a scheduled day off; Ramírez refuses to play. There are also stories of Manny using Mp3 players in the outfield, failing to run out routine grounders, etc, etc. To me that would cause more clubhouse problems than the media being on Bonds ass. So far I have yet to see any complaints about Bonds the player.
  18. Bonds isnt going to get $18mil. Im saying the Sox should be interested if they can get him for under 10. I dont get your argument about being a cancer etc, because the same has been said about Manram. I just think Bonds is going to come back and play good baseball. He started to do better at the end of last season once he was healthy again, and I believe that he still has 1-2 years left of producing. As to the rest, these guys are professionals. I dont know any Sox player who has had an incident with Bonds. I think that he will have a huge chip on his shoulder and playing with a playoff team may be willing to try and show the world. I just dont see why its such a huge risk in a market that Mathews JR got 10mil
  19. Because we would have to trade for Manny and the Red Sox are going to want talent. Versus paying Bonds money and giving up nothing.
  20. I hated Rodman as a Piston, but loved him as a Bull. I mean Frank Thomas was my favorite Sox player of all time, Im no less of a Sox fan since they decided not to bring him back. Why would I care if they brought in a future HOF and possible all time HR leader? I dont see how there is an "ethics" argument, when ethically Bonds has never been caught doing anything. Albert Belle on the other hand used a corked bat against the Sox, and yet we still signed him. Much ado about nothing.
  21. Bonds is not going to jail. And I would prefer Bonds to Manny. I also would watch the Sox 2x as much to make up for all the people who claim they wouldnt watch. And to them I say, I hear the Northsiders are fielding a great team, why dont you root for them if your allegiance is based on 1 player.
  22. Id tune in 2x just to make up for Steve not watching. Bonds would be awesome.
  23. 5 years 65 mil isnt 15mil per year, that would be 5 years 75 mil. 5 years 65 mil is 13 mil per year.
  24. I thought IMHO stands for in my humble opinion.
  25. Wisconsin got up in OT, and then fouls/3pointers just kept the game going on.
