  1. Winthrop shot 60% from 3. They were down as many as 13 in the 2nd half, but just kept hitting 3s. And it didnt help Wisconsin insisted on shooting 3s eventhough they were terrible from behind the line and shooting 2's well. I didnt get to see the game, although this time it didnt even matter that Im Chicago market because its not even on in Wisconsin.

I watch the show and find it pretty enjoyable. Its hard to argue how real it is, because at this point do any of us know what really happened? Seems like they are stringing along that plot line for a while (Im guessing that itll be something that comes out near the end of the season). Also they are running some misdirections with the "FBI" agent who moved his family from Washington right before the bombs went off. Im guessing we will have about a month of love triangles and human stories(Skeet, the fiance who just returned, and Jonah's daughter also the Mary Bailey, Dr, and son of the exgovenor). After they build up those stories, theyll start to get to what happened and the bad things that are going to come.
  3. Where have I said anything about ND's strength of schedule? Wisconsin and ND played 3 similar teams, Wisconsin played all of them arguably better. If the 2 teams met, I believe Wisconsin would win. What does that have to do with strength of schedule, Wisconsin being in the bcs, or any of the other ridiculous arguments that people are making with me? If you want to argue SOS or BCS, dont refer to me, because I honestly dont care and think ND will be a BCS team. Which I said from the very start. And I assume the rest of the ND bandwagon will just ignore the fact that one of theirs, Wedge, started talking s*** about Wisconsin, prior to me saying anything about Wisconsin beating ND. Classic.
  4. I responded to this: I also posted prior to that: So its pretty clear that I already knew Wisconsin could not be in the BCS regardless. The conference rule was also pointed out before I said it as well. So I dont understand why after I said that an ND fan had to come in and keep harping on Wisconsin.
  5. I think Michigan is the second best team in the country and will be playing for the NC.
  6. Which is why I dont understand the ND fans trying to attack Wisconsin for no reason.
  7. No they would play 1 time. Are you just trying to create an argument? I dont even understand how playing a game 10 times is at all relevant.
  8. Why are you so offended that I said Wisconsin would beat ND. I think they would and I think every single stat imaginable will be in my favor. Im not going to say: "Well I think its possible that Wisconsin would beat ND, but anything can happen." I dont get why you are so touchy about it, I guess its because there really is no argument for why Wisconsin would lose to ND? If you said "ND would beat Wisconsin" I wouldnt care. Its cleary your opinion.
  9. There is my first comment. Now I believe that Wisconsin is a better team, and would beat Notre Dame. I obviously understand ND fans are going to disagree, but what stat is out there that would make me not have faith in Wisconsin winning? As your own post shows, Wisconsin played better against the 3 teams that they both mutually faced. I think Wisconsin would win, didnt realize that phrasing it as "Wisconsin would beat ND" would be so offensive?
  10. Well I have watched both teams play and I think Wisconsin would beat Notre Dame. Purdue scored 21 on Notre Dame, 3 on Wisconsin Michigan scored 47 on Notre Dame, 21 on Wisconsin Penn State scored 17 on Notre Dame, 3 on Wisconsin
  11. Wisconsin played a bad half against Illinois. ND played a bad half against MSU. Which is worse? And yes Wisconsin's OOC schedule was weak, but at the same time Buffalo was a very late addition due to the 12 team rule, and not every year is Wisconsin going to skip OSU. Also some other Big 10 teams were supposed to be better as Wisconsin was not even ranked in the top 25 (as compared to ND). At the start of the year Wisconsin had 3 teams that were ranked above them, UM, Iowa, PSU. PSU and Iowa had down years. But that does not change the fact that Wisconsin played the Big 10 schedule it was given, and only lost to UM. Now I am not saying that I dont think ND will be a BCS team, just that I think both Wisconsin and ND have similar arguments for being BCS teams.
  12. The shame is, if Wisconsin could have been taken for the BCS, its likely both them and ND would have been in it, and possibly played.
  13. Wisconsin would beat ND. Sorry but they both played Michigan, and Wisconsin played them much better. If anything it is possible had Wisconsin played Michigan later in the season when their WR's started to play much better that Wisconsin could have had a chance to beat Michigan. Not to mention Michigan played at ND, where as Wisconsin played at the Big House. You seem to believe that because ND played a better team USC, and lost, that they are some how better than Wisconsin. Wisconsin beat the same quality of teams as ND. I dont see why losing to a team should get you bonus points.
  14. Some players just look good. They can sit on the bench and look like a monster. When I saw Lebron for the first time, you could just see that he was a man amongst boys. He did not even look young, he just looked like he had been born to play. The same goes for Oden, when you look at him he does not look like a freshman. He looks like a beast, and it would just be very hard for me to believe that every single scout, basketball analyst, etc were completely wrong about the guy. Now Im not going to say he is the best college player, but right now he is the top college prospect for the pros. My problem was with comparing him to Scheyer, who is not even in the same stratosphere as Oden.
  15. The 3rd team rule was started prior to there being more BCS bowl games. When a situation presents itself such as if Wisconsin, Michigan, and OSU all had 1 loss, and by virtue of big 10 rules Wisconsin had to be champ, you know the next year the rule would be changed so that the BCS could have gotten both OSU and Michigan. It sucks for Wisconsin because they are a legitimate BCS team, only losing to Michigan this year. It also sucks for college football, because it gives a team like Wisconsin no incentive to schedule better teams. They might as well schedule powder puffs and hope for the best.
  16. How can you compare Scheyer and Oden. One may be a first round draft pick, the other would have been the 1 pick over all last year.
  17. If Tucker hits that many ft's Wisconsin is going to be hard to beat. FSU is really athletic which would generally be Wisconsin's weakness, so it was good to see that they were able to handle the press and the zone. I doubt this was the way they played when they lost to Mo State.

There is a reason why the US govt is not trying Bonds for possession of a controlled substance, it is because at the time the laws likely did not include what he was taking. Therefore any prosecution would be ex post facto. Not to mention Anderson was given a plea bargain for both distribution and money laundering, that only put him in jail for less than a year. If these were big time drugs, the penalty would be much more severe (ie crack, cocaine, etc). Hence why they are trying for perjury. And many atheletes use illegal drugs, that are not "performance enhancing" baseball does not even care really.
  19. Gwynn Ripken Id say those 2 are for sure. My next 3 are Byleven Smith Baines (if some one can vote for AJ for MVP, I can vote for Baines)

Yet many will say that Sosa and Big Mac arguably saved baseball from disaster after the strike. I dont like either of them, but you have to give credit where credit is due. The home run chase between Big Mac and Sosa brought people back at a time when baseball was in trouble. Now baseball is fine again, but you cant just forget the people who got you to this point. They never hurt anyone, so i really just cant paint them as villians. Regardless of the fact im not a personal fan.

Why should Bonds not have lied to the govt? They often dont keep their deals, see his good friend Anderson who they made promises to, and then illegally tapped. The fact is the US govt is wasting my tax dollars every second they continue to prosecute Bonds. They are wasting in excess of $1000 an hour, and it is just petty. They are not trying to convict Bonds for using the drugs, they are trying to convict on perjury. It is almost impossible to convict on that charge, as you have to prove: Bonds "KNOWINGLY" lied. Do you know how hard it is to prove knowledge in court? Especially when Anderson wont testify? Its almost impossible, because the govt has to prove beyond reasonable doubt. So therefore they will never convict, and are just wasting time and money to save face. And on the whole cheating thing, I think it is shades of grey. Baseball is a game, and in games people cheat. Baseball has always been full of cheating, and in a sense its become part of the game. It does not change my enjoyment of the game in the least, if anything it gives people something to talk about and argue about. Except when you are cheating to lose, that just is a cardinal sin.

Dramatic is how people act like Barry Bonds is the worst thing to hit baseball. The baseball hall of fame is filled with admitted cheaters. Go read up on Gaylord Perry. And the ruining his life part is more towards the United States govt, who is pissed that he did not follow through on testifying, and is now going to convene grand juries for the rest of his life.

Actually i never have said Barry Bonds is clean. I have said that Barry Bonds was never caught cheating, and therefore I am not going to start a witch hunt. I have said that players like Albert "Joey" Belle, Sammy Sosa, etc have been caught cheating while playing, and so if you have a problem with Barry, you have to have a problem with every single player who has ever "cheated". Although I think it would be hard to argue Barry cheated, considering the rules that he broke would have been ex post facto, as at the time of the occurrences it was not against the MLB policy to take what Barry was taking. But why let facts ruin an otherwise good argument: "barry is an asshole, lets ruin his life."
  24. Thats untrue, playing a Valley team is lose-lose no matter how you slice it. Wisconsin lost to Mo. State, a quality team. When they lose its an "upset", when they win its "status-quo." Maybe in 5 years, when the Valley starts to get teams rated in the top 15 preseason (Gonzaga has been there so no reason to say that it cant happen in the Valley) then you will see teams from the big conferences start to schedule the valley. A lot of this has to do with recruiting as well. Because the BCS conferences get the top recruits, they are always considered the "top" teams eventhough many of these recruits are young so they are really not playing at the same level as a 4th year player on a valley team. This will even be more prevelant with the 1 and done, because writers etc will rank teams with the "Odens" of the world as 1, eventhough they have never stepped on the court. This will perpetuate Valley teams consistently being under ranked, and therefore people wont be willing to play them. Right now I would always prefer Wisconsin to play a top 15 team, to a 25-40 Valley team. If you lose to the top 15, so what life moves on. If you lose to the valley, everyone is second guessing your program. It basically boils down to the fact that sportswriters like hype, and they vote on hype. If the Valley can get some hyped players, all of a sudden everything will change.
  25. Who knows with these players. Kaz Matsui was godly and did not pan out. Iguchi was pretty good and stayed solid. A few years from now Igawa may be better than Matsuzaka, its just so much risk for a player who you really have very little idea of what your getting.
