Only 25 doubles behind his twin brother Bagwell (born within an hour of one another for those that don't know)! Frank 1290 Runs 2094 Hits 440 Doubles 429 HR 1421 RBI 1433 BB .309 AVG .429 OBP .568 SLUGGING .997 OPS Jeff 1440 Runs 2191 Hits 465 Doubles 428 HR 1453 RBI 1320 BB .299 AVG .410 OBP .547 SLUGGING .957 OPS Although Jeff has 200 stolen bases! Wouldn't it be something if these two could be inducted into the Hall Of Fame on the same day?

Juan Gone is a right-handed hitter, though.

I have yet to hear anyone else bring up the "degenerative leg" issue that I've been hearing about on the Score 670. The last time I heard the word degenerative mentioned in a baseball context, it had to do with Albert Belle. People just don't throw that word around unless there's a good reason for it.

J.D. Drew? I'm definitely intrigued. When does his contract expire? If Atlanta drops out of the wild card picture come the end of July, this could be a possibility. Can you imagine this guy hitting fifth?

Another 5th starter candidate

Rick Helling would make a decent reliever, perhaps. All of those guys that he is greater than on your list are also decent relievers (right now, anyway). Rick Helling is already 34 years old. He's been around forever. We have seen everything that he has to offer, and it's not much. Take his past three years, for example. 2001 w/Texas Rangers 34 GS 215 IP 256 Hits Allowed 63 Walks Allowed 1.48 WHIP 5.17 ERA .297 Opponents Batting Average 38 Home Runs Allowed 2002 w/ Arizona Diamondbacks 30 GS 175 IP 180 Hits Allowed 48 Walks Allowed 1.30 WHIP 4.51 ERA .264 Opponents Batting Average 31 Home Runs Allowed 2003 w/ Baltimore Orioles 24 GS 140 IP 156 Hits Allowed 40 Walks Allowed 1.41 WHIP 5.71 ERA .286 Opponents Batting Average Allowed 30 Home Runs Allowed The Home Runs Allowed are particularly disturbing. 30 allowed in only 140 IP pitched last year? I'd say that even Todd Ritchie is a better pitcher than Rick. -
Lakers & Pistons: Hope or Hallucinogens?

Well, I'd say it was more along the lines of terrific defense, first and foremost. Detroit took Jermaine O'Neal and Reggie Miller out of the picture, for the most part. There's a reason why guys like Bender and Johnson were left wide open. And you could live with Ron Artest taking outside shots, if that's what he wants to do. But you have to keep Jermaine out of the picture, and that's precisely what they did. We're witnessing one of the greatest defensive units of all time right now (regardless of expansion). The Spurs are almost at their level, but not quite. You can make an argument that they are just as good, but certainly not better. Guys like Nesterovic and Parker are weak defensive players. While Nesterovich is a presence, his feet are slower than Paul Konerko's. Not a good defensive player by any means. But he does match up well against Shaq. I'll give him that. You have to like the Wallace combo on Shaq down low. Malone will get plenty of open shots, and he'll be laying some bricks. I hate the Lakers. They're like the Yankees of basketball as far as I'm concerned. All of the free agents who go there are attracted by the glamour and glitz. They're just a bunch of attention whores. -

Wow, Rick Helling? I'd just as soon bring back Jim Parque. -
They said on the J Hood show that Maggs might have a degenerative leg. That's the word that George Offman received, anyway.

Sox 5th Starter Making 1st Start of Year?

Vlad and Vazquez would have been free agents demanding 10+ million before the D.C. era. If I'm not mistaken, they have Livan and Armas locked down & it would be senseless for the Expos to get rid of them now. Too much long term potential. -
"Got To Get You Into My Life" I was alone, I took a ride, (to the corner drug spot) I didn't know what I would find there (sure you did...) Another road where maybe I could see another kind of mind there (different dealer with better weed) Ooh, then I suddenly see you, Ooh, did I tell you I need you Every single day of my life You didn't run, you didn't lie (no cops in the vicinity) You knew I wanted just to hold you And had you gone you knew in time we'd meet again For I had told you (come back in a half hour when the coast is clear) Ooh, you were meant to be near me Ooh, and I want you hear me Say we'll be together every day Got to get you into my life What can I do, what can I be, When I'm with you I want to stay there (on the couch) If I'm true I'll never leave And if I do I know the way there (back to the spot) Ooh, then I suddenly see you, Ooh, did I tell you I need you Every single day of my life Got to get you into my life It all makes sense now.
