Dan Bernstein????
This happened with Terry back in September. People assumed that he was gone for sure, but ultimately, he came back. They'll find a way to keep Bernstein.

Dan Bernstein????
Great stuff! I haven't missed a show in quite some time now. But if Bernstein leaves, I'd like to see Steve Rosenbloom or J Hood team up with Terry Boers. I don't know how many of you guys wake up early on Saturday mornings, but the Steve Rosenbloom show is outstanding. I love that guy. He's on with Baum from 8 until 10 AM, and then he's on a solo mission from 10 to 12.

Dan Bernstein????
TAKEN FROM THE SUN TIMES: Dan Bernstein has been off the air since Tuesday, when his contract expired as Terry Boers' midday talk show partner at WSCR-AM (670). While still considered highly likely, a renewal with the Score isn't Bernstein's only option. "We're taking a very careful look at the alternatives that have been presented to Dan," said Bernstein's agent, Todd Musburger. "People whom we respect regard Dan not only as a highly talented sports talk show host, but as a highly talented broadcaster." Bernstein, a Chicago native, joined the Score from WNTA-AM in Rockford in 1995.

Odd thing about this years all-star game
Have teams been beaning Clemens thus far? Remember all that talk about revenge? I haven't heard anything. Maybe Piazza and Clemens will become friends, sort of like Alomar and that umpire. Things just work out like that sometimes.

Southsider's Quarter Season grades
Well, you knew that it was only a matter of time before Anthony007 would show up to defend Koch! You are beyond loyal. If Koch was John Shoop, you'd be Dick Jauron. It's honorable, yet sad.

Southsider's Quarter Season grades
I know what you mean. But he still leads the Sox in both OBP and Slugging Percentage. He has the 4th highest OPS in the AL, right behind Posada, Ramirez, and Mora. The next closest guy in OPS is 50 points behind him (Young). Wait until he really heats up. He might lead the AL in OPS this year.

Southsider's Quarter Season grades
Excellent. Mine would be pretty much the same, but I'd give Adkins a B+ and Big Frank an A-. I'm not sure about Cotts. Shingo is quickly becoming my favorite reliever on the Sox. That guy is filthy.

Has AROW earned another look?
Are you for real? Because I thought that was his primary asset before the season started. But hey, I've been baffled before. I thought that Roger Clemens was washed up. I thought that the Aaron Miles for Juan Uribe trade was horse s*** at the time. Live and learn.

Band Of Brothers Thread
I just purchased the book this past weekend. I look forward to reading it. Sobel was an even bigger dickhead than what was portrayed? I can't see how that is possible!

Juan Uribe
This is all that you have to know about Belliard: 2003 VS. LHP: .345 AVG with a 1.010 OPS in 113 AB VS. RHP: .254 AVG with a .675 OPS in 334 AB 2004 VS. LHP: .474 AVG with a 1.182 OPS in 57 AB VS. RHP: .269 AVG with a .683 OPS in 104 AB The guy is perhaps the best hitter in the majors against LHP over the past two years combined. And what does the AL Central have plenty of? You guessed it. Left handed pitching.

Screw Baseball Tonight....again
I haven't watched it in years. They don't really offer any definitive information. They cater to the casual baseball fan, of course. I'd rather just listen to sports radio, read various newspapers, and check out the internet for my baseball fix. I just can't put up with ESPN or Fox Sports Net anymore. It used to be different.

Beltran
It was a pretty big story at the time. I remember Mike North talking all kinds of s*** about him.

Band Of Brothers Thread
That's just about all that I ever watch these days. Never mind that I've seen the series about 50 times. I thought that "Saving Private Ryan" was an outstanding movie when it came out, but this series just puts it to shame, across the board. All of the actors are cool, particularly Winters, Nixon (Livingston), Guarnere, George Lutz, Liebgott, Randallman, Martin, Babe Hefron, Skip Muck, Eugene Roe, Spiers, Picante, Mularkey, etc. I never thought that I'd say this, but after Band Of Brothers, I'm a big fan of Donnie Wahlberg. And David Schwimmer was perfect in the dickhead role. My favorite episode would have to be either Part 1 or Part 7.

He talked about how he reads WSI or whatever. I also remember hearing about Bob Costas doing a segment on his HBO show about Red Sox fansites. I'm just wondering if SOXTALK has received any publicity on the same level as WSI, because this is one hell of a site. I checked out WSI mostly to see what people were saying about Cheat's situation (the brawl). It appears to be a good site, but it doesn't approach this one as far as I'm concerned. If this topic is inappropriate for this forum, feel free to move it.

Pitchers the Sox Should Acquire
Which is where they belong, of course.

Last day on Soxtalk for a little while
Have a blast!

No More Waiting KW
Exactly. And people try to come up with trade scenarios involving Lee?
-
Pitchers the Sox Should Acquire
And just one more point about the Phillies: They didn't have a winning record until May 9 (15-14). Records: APRIL 12: 1-6 APRIL 25: 7-10 MAY 6: 12-14 That what I'd refer to as "playing like s***" if we're talking about the talent on that team, which is just mind-boggling.

Beltran
Engaging in group sex in front of a bunch of old men? The guy is braindead. But he can play some mean defense. That's for sure.

Pitchers the Sox Should Acquire
And left handed finesse pitchers is what it's all about against the Spankees, or Yankmees, or capitalist pigs, or whatever people are calling them nowadays.
-
Pitchers the Sox Should Acquire
If we got Glavine, here's how I'd set up the rotation: 1. Glavine 2. Loaiza 3. Buehrle 4. Garland 5. Schoeneweis I can live with three finesse left handers at the 1, 3, and 5 slots. But you're right. We lack that power pitcher. That's why I'm jealous of that other baseball team in Chicago.
-
Pitchers the Sox Should Acquire
Yeah, you're probably right. It'll be some stroke like Paul Abbott. KW will be like "I know his ERA is like 6.50 or whatever, but god damn, did you see what he did to the Sox in April? Let's get him."
-
Pitchers the Sox Should Acquire
Well, they're 7-3 in their last 10, so they've been playing up to their capabilities as of late. Still though, a team with world series aspirations with that kind of April? That's why I made that statement.

Pitchers the Sox Should Acquire
Pretty wide open right now, but the Marlins and Phillies will break away from the rest of the pack when the teams in that division start playing one another. The Phillies are 14-5 against the NL West, and yet, they're only 5-7 within their own division at the current time. That's going to change in a hurry. And the Marlins are the Marlins. Just a s***load of talent that can not be stopped. I look at the Mets and I see a bunch of bad investments.
