  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) Now Juan, you've been hitting him hard, now make it pay. Good call.
  2. Now would be a great time to call it a night for Jon G., No?
  3. ...And Konerko just MISSED popping up, too.
  4. Jon at 102 pitches. Ozzie will probably let him go another inning. But we know what happens when pitchers go an inning to long. (cough)Wednesday afternoon(cough).
  5. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 07:38 PM) They have worked our startes this series so far. They sure have. Buehrle barely extended his streak last night.
  6. 96 pitches for Garland. Quite a lot for not being through the 6th inning.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) With our current lineup, we can't bench PK. He has 2 homers in his last 4 games, and is hitting the ball hard tonight. We can't have a lineup of guys like Gload, Urine, AJP, Harris, Crede. That's just not a dangerous lineup. At least PK will have the respect of the opposition. Did you intentionally call him Urine?
  8. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 07:24 PM) Yeah, hopefully Dye will be in there tomorrow. His swing has come a long way from the start of the season, also hope Gload plays and sit Timo's ass on the bench or Harris, they both are pathetic! If anyone needs to sit for awhile, it's Konerko. Now that Gload's here, we have a true 1B and another LH bat in the lineup. Hopefully, Dye will be back tomorrow, and Gload plays 1B.
  9. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 07:22 PM) Uribe is 0-for-2, but he's hit the ball hard both times. He looks decent at the plate. I agree. But it still would've been a good night to play Ozuna.
  10. That was very similar to that Baltimore game when struck out Tejada on that nasty pitch.
  11. That's why Garland is an All-Star this year. Garland '01-'04 would have had the makings of a big inning. That could have set the tone of the game right there and swayed the momentum towards the Red Sox. But Garland's got great confidence and knew he could get out it. Get pitching there Jon.
  12. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) You better not jinx him.
  13. This inning shows the difference of Garland this year.
  14. But I agree. That was pretty dumb.
  15. QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) I hope this is the last year of Cora as the 3rd base coach Lets get Ventura to coach 3rd Cora 's been one of the better 3d base coaches. He's not going anywhere.
  16. Hey, it's Boston. It's worth a shot, even it's the guy with weights on his ankles.
  17. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 06:33 PM) At least Detroit is making life difficult for Minnesota. 7-3 Detroit in the 5th, man on second , nobody out. Make that 8-3! Top of 6th.
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) Watch him go 4 for 4 with a homer tonight..
  19. Thank God Willie's #9. He is useless at #2. Then again...
  20. QUOTE(mrzo2733 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 07:54 AM) I think people should definitely just relax. I must say first though that I missed almost all the game cuz I was at work, so I didn't have to watch what happened. But I think that this is actually a good thing from the way I look at it. First and foremost, we still have a big lead so it's obviously not time to start worrying about that. The reason this is good though is we are getting a chance to play the Red Sox right before the trade deadline and use it as a measuring stick. I have never bought into the whole "I don't wanna make a trade because it might disrupt the chemistry. I just don't see how going out and getting a guy like Guardado (the guy I want) will upset the chemistry. A pitcher can stand in a corner and not do anything in the clubhouse as long as he comes in and does his job. I have felt and still feel we don't have the team to win the World Series and that is what all of us have set our sights on. If we were to sweep Boston or take 3 of 4, it would reinforce the notion to KW that we should just go as is. If this kicks us in our butt a little, then it's the best thing for us. We need to find out now where we stack up vs. a World Series caliber team, so we can adjust and go from there. That is why I think yesterday's loss was not altogether bad. Very true. This series will definitely show what are weaknesses and strengths are. I agree, as we are now I don't see the Sox having enough to win the World Series as they are. That "Best record in baseball" line can only go so far. So again, hopefully this shows Ozzie and KW what needs to be done in the next week and a half.
  21. Tim Wakefield. Knuckleballs. You think our offense is in a funk now, just wait until after tonight. This guy can mess up guys swings for weeks. Anyway, Garland just has to keep doing what he's been doing all year long. Win #15 won't be easy if he gets it tonight.
