  1. Dammit! Why did Cabrera have to leave. This is pathetic.
  2. He'll get out this. It's just Tejada, Palmeiro and Lopez. Those guys are nothing.
  3. Already at 51 pitches. Still 0 outs. I knew Byrnes would do something that guy kills us no matter what uniform he wears.

  5. f***. In a big, big jam. Now the big hitters coming up.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) That chat room is deader than the dinosaurs. Ironically, you say that as Carl bats.
  7. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 12:02 PM) Willie: We gonna get somebody, I know we gonna get somebody..... ....to replace my worthless ass.
  8. Too bad for the Twins. This is bad, because they're in the wild card hunt and will make it easier for the A'ss to runaway with it now. Now I'll have to root for the BoSox or Yankees in the hunt.
  9. Here they are: Pods LF Iguchi 2B Everett DH Konerko 1B Rowand CF Dye RF AJ C Crede 3B Uribe SS Roberts 2B Mora 3B Tejada SS Palmeiro 1B Sam-Me DH Lopez C Surhoff RF Newhan CF Bigbie LF
  10. Griffey ain't coming here. He's a running-out-a-groundball, snapping-a-hamstring, injury waiting to happen. Not to mention his insane contract. The Reds will be asking for the Charlotte and Birmingham pitching staffs as well as Garland and Buerhle for him, too. Not happening.
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 07:51 AM) I don't care if Brandon ended up pitching for the Cubs, I'd still root for him. That is how good of a kid Brandon McCarthy is IMO. If we trade him, I guarentee we will regret it. It might take Brandon a couple of years to grow into the majors, ala Jon Garland, but he has the stuff to be a succesful major league pitcher. I know that some of you guys know everything about baeball and all, but no offense I'll take the word of the GMs and scouts who have raved about this kid, over anyone. Well stated.
  12. Folks, just in case Frank's Sox career is finished or his career is finished in general, remember seeing him person. Remember all of his accomplishments, all of the Sox records that he set. Those two (shoulda been three) MVP seasons. He may never be the same Frank again. But at least we remember the Frank of old, one of the most feared hitters of the '90s. If he does decide to hang it up, it won't be long until his face up there on the left-center field wall, and #35 is retired. Then in 2010, we can all join the celebration as he enshrined in Cooperstown. Just remember that you were alive to see the greatest hitter in Sox history.
  13. I think we should start "trade for Aubrey Huff or Billy Wagner" threads personally.
  14. QUOTE(ptatc @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) if he re-fractured it after 7 months of rehab and playing for only for about 2 months, it may be time to hang them up. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) They mentioned the possibility of fusion surgery last winter. From what I was told fusion surgery would end his career. I agree. All these surgeries and recorvery time, plus the risk of re-injury. It may be time for The Hurt to call it a career, unfortunately. Then let the HOF debates begin.
  15. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) Maybe the Sox look at Adam Dunn now? Or does Cincy want the farm for him? I was just going to say his name. I haven't heard Griff's name come up. The Reds are going to want pitching, since that's their obvious weakness. I wouldn't mind seeing Dunn here and his 200 K's per year.
  16. That's definitely a big blow. We now know why the decline in average. Hopefully, this isn't the way his Sox career ends. Hopefully, KW is on the phone now getting the big bat that we desperately need. Forget a SP.
  17. Baez is pretty much a right-handed Marte. He may not throw as hard, but he just as unreliable. No thanks.
