Have we even attempted to throw out any runners this series?

QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 12:35 PM) Hmm... it coulda been Stoney. I thought it was Hawk. Yeah, it was Steve Stone.
-
I thought Ray Miller would be the one to go. Maybe the Pirates or some team who fires their manager next will hire him.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) I believe Lee Mazzilli was just fired Sam Perlozzo taking over I see. Damn, talk about a sinking ship.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) Mcgowan's going to be a good major league pitcher imo. He'll be back in the minors, once Halladay comes back.

4-0. Let's keep it moving.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) Well, here's our first chance with a runner in scoring position. Let's improve on yesterday people, PLEASE! Last night was pathetic. 0-for-11 w/RISP.

Send him.

At least it was hit hard. This really shows you what happens when he struggling and not stealing bases.
-
Time for Pods to break out of his 2-for-26 slump. Right.Now.
-
Why couldn't El Duque do that last night?

To avoid a sweep and right the ship at home and for the sanity of Soxtalk Nation, let's win today!

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) Well one day the name Soxtalk.com sounded like a good idea...the rest is history and I've been kicking myself in the ass ever since. I try blowing up the server thinking you all would get the hint, but no, instead more people just show up Just wait, one day you'll see a banner with a bunch of ivy in it In all serious, I'll throw a little history in here. I was visiting WSI one day and saw a post by this weird guy named RIO (from the ESPN boards as well) and it said he was starting a website. I almost never went on the internet back than but found it interesting and shot him an email. Ended up starting SoxNet.net and I helped him out with it. We had a message board there but eventually came up with the idea of starting a seperate board and came up with the name Soxtalk.com We'd kind of split market them, posting articles here and on SoxNet and than eventually getting FutureSox.com involved. SoxNet closed a little more than 2 years ago but Soxtalk has continued to grow and grow and the site never ceases to amaze me (and thats a good thing...most of the time). Its been a cool ride and it takes up way too much of not only my time, but everyone's time. We could of cured some major disease with all the time everyone here has put into Soxtalk. Hell, ain't that the truth. Props to you, ChiSoxFn for starting this. Where would I waste away my hours of slowness at work Anyway, I went Soxnet.net pretty frequently as well as WSI and the MLB boards. I found a link at WSI and the rest is history.

I liked the "Leave it to Beaver" take-off with a white family having the "N" word as their last name. Also, he had John Mayer on one time, showing how different races love music "Whenever white people hear a guitar..." "whenever blacks hear drums..." But Comedy Central is like MTV, they replay their shows forever.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:07 PM) Tadahito lives near me, thats kind of cool. I cant believe he drives through the traffic around here to get to chicago, that must really suck. I would have lived closer, but he obviously feels comfortable in the japanese community in Schaumburg Yeah, that must be a b**** getting the ballpark. 53 to 90 to 94. Yuck. I wonder if I'll see him at Woodfield Mall or something.

El Duque's last two starts have been against AL East teams and they have been great. Let's keep it up.
-
I was waiting for someone to ask this question. Stay away. Far, far away. He'll fit in nicely with the: Devil Rays, Pirates, Reds, Orioles, Royals, etc.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 12:00 PM) I'll tell you what .. the very last thing we need is for this to happen to a Sox player. Don't be too smug about this issue. I agree. Just cross your fingers, that they know what they're putting in their bodies.

Palmeiro said he may retire after this year. Frank may be forced to retire. Meaning they would be on the same ballot. Sox fandom aside, who do you think would be voted in first?

QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 12:57 AM) Who's likely to get called up for September? I would think they would want another catcher. Is Jamie Burke on the 40 man? Otherwise, Willie, Gload, BMac, Baj, Diaz, Anderson or Borch. It would give them a chance to rest guys after they clinch.
