    2011 TV Thread

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) I wonder if Unser covers up Piney's death and makes him basically go MIA. The Otto thing is an interesting twist as well I have to admit..i laughed after Gemma kissed Unser. The look on his face said it all. He wanted to enjoy it but his face was saying WTF? He knew it was completely for manipulation purposes. I do agree with the point that Clay or Jax will have to go at the end of the season. You can't have Jax find out about what Clay has done and then just let them stay side by side.

Surprised noone mentioned SOA this week. I thought it was another pretty good episode. The look and speech Jax gave Clay after her made the remark about Tara was awesome. For the first time in a long time (to me) Jax actually seemed dangerous. That of course builds into what's coming next week. Next Tuesday night can't come fast enough.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 29, 2011 -> 02:18 PM) Wow. I always thought highly of DirectTV. Don't have it but thought about getting it sometimes. FWIW, Direct tv says the deadline for hammering out a new agreement between them and Fox is Nov. 1st but the existing agreement runs through Dec. 31st so we (i have Direct tv as well) should have the channel for a bit longer. Direct tv vs. Fox
  5. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 12:29 PM) Both of these were high on my list, and yeah, Little Giants was a staple for anyone our age, Rowand. Little Giants was good and who knew that the Icebox would grow up to be pretty good looking. I haven't the time or energy to check the whole thread so i don't know what all has been mentioned already but i always have to stop and watch Tin Cup and the Replacements when they are on tv.

I'm not sure if Clay will get his by the end of the season but if he does I would sure like it to be Opie who pulls the trigger. Clay took out his old man and by extension took out the mother of his kids. On another note....another Netflix find for me has been the BBC version of Being Human. Orginally, i wasn't sure about the premise (a ghost, werewolf and vampire living together trying to be normal) but i'm through 2 out of three seasons so far and I have love it. I know there is an American version of this show on Syfy but never got around to seeing it.
  7. So the reports have it that Lindsey Lohan posed for Playboy over the weekend for sum somewhere between $750,000 and $1 million bucks. You know this would have been good news about 6 or 7 years ago but considering she's aged about 30 years in the last 5, not so much. I am curious if it's going to be one of those celebrity layouts where the most you see it a bit of sideboob. Considering how desperate she has to be for cash, I can't imagine Playboy that much for sideboob.

I'm still sticking with American Horror Story for now. The actress's name that plays the hot young maid sounded familiar so i checked her out online and she does different voices for Family Guy. I can see why Seth hired her.....giggity giggity

I just noticed today that Netflix streaming have put up the entire series of Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise. I always liked Enterprise and thought it was just hitting it's stride when it wan cancelled (and given the worst Trek ending ever.) and the last couple seasons of Deep Space Nine was awesome.

As much as i'm liking this season of SOA, am I the only one having trouble with the blackmailing of Juice storyline? I mean the whole thing is built on Juice scared about the club finding out he's half black. I know at least once before they met another chapter who had a black guy in it. That plus the club has never had any major overtones of being racist. Maybe i'm missing something but I just wish this storyline would go away

After getting all the way caught up on Mad Men and the Julia Stiles season of Dexter I was torn between starting Breaking Bad or Rescue Me. I flipped a coin (and repeated raves on this board) and started Breaking Bad. Already 2/3rds the way through season 2. It's been very entertaining.
  13. Just watched The Fighter (Marky Mark and Christian Bale) on Netflix. I was not very impressed.

My Friday night issue is back. Do I watch Fringe and record Supernatural or vice versa? I think after last season's ender that Fringe is the winner.

E news is reporting that this season on How I Met Your Mother we finally get to meet the 'Slutty Pumpkin'. I highly doubt she will turn out to be the titular mother abut she will be played by Katie Holmes.

I thought the Shield's last season was pretty awesome. I would have thought for sure Walter Goggins would have gotten an Emmy nod for it. He was awesome. It was sad to see but not unexpected to see Vic throw Ronnie under the bus. (Almost didn't recognize Ronnie the other day on Leverage) Like a couple others here I'm quickly working my way through the first few seasons of Mad Men. I'm just past the halfway mark in Season three. All i can say is that kid Glenn is damn creepy.

Is anyone else out there, besides me, enjoying Alphas on Syfy?
  18. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 06:56 AM) Not sure how many people watched it here but Stargate Universe was a pretty good show and got the axe a few months back. My wife loved that one and Stargate Atlantis. I wasn't a big fan of either.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 07:15 PM) My mom started crying when my parents dropped me off at SIU for the first time. I was like, "What the hell is wrong with you?" Wasn't expecting it. I don't remember my mom crying when she dropped me off at SIU back in the 80's. I guess she was happy to get rid of me.
  20. Every time i go to the zoo, the jellyfish gives me the creeps. I would so scream like a little girl if I was in the ocean and one brushed up against me. I get the willies just thinking about it.
  21. Tomorrow is a big day as my wife and I take our first born off to college for her freshman year. I guess it's just starting to hit me. Ugh...maybe i would have been better off having boys. All i can think of now is that old saying "If you have a boy you just have to worry about one penis...if you have a girl you have to worry about them all!!"
  22. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 07:45 AM) Life Watched the whole series on Hulu was incredible and so sad to hear it was cancelled. Life was a great show...but after solving the main crime it had nowhere to go.
  23. Couple of Fox shows ( i know...imagine them canceling things early) Profit--with Adrian Pasdar Drive--with Nathan Fillion
  24. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 06:36 AM) It's early, and I've only had one cup of coffee, so I may not be thinking too clearly. But one movie I'd like to see a sequel for is Cloverfield. As far as movies that did not need a sequel, The Descent. The first one was so good, and the sequel was just another bad horror movie. Just saw Cloverfield for the first time yesterday (thank you Netflix). that is another movie that looked like it was setting up a sequel of sorts.
  25. Was thinking about movies that i wish would have gotten sequels and those that did and i wish i never saw so i'll throw it out to the board. I remember back after seeing Maverick with Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster and thinking it was a perfect movie for a sequel. Heck...the whole ending of the movie set up a sequel but alas it was never to be. I always wondered if they even talked about doing a sequel. On the other end of the spectrum....... Just a couple years ago I witnessed one of my favorite movie characters in a sequel so sh*tty i almost cried. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to put Snake Plisken on a surfboard for God's sake. Escape from LA was so bad. i could have waited another 10 or so years to see it again.
