from Fox News: The district offered a cost-of-living raise of 2 percent a year for four years, which the union said was unacceptable — especially after Mayor Rahm Emanuel last year canceled a previously negotiated 4 percent raise, citing budget problems. A school district spokeswoman has said that raise will not be made up and the district will not address it in negotiations. The union has lowered the amount it’s asking for, but has not said what its counterproposal is now. Only weeks ago, it sought a 19 percent raise in the first year of the contract. The union also is concerned about raises based on teacher experience and education. It has said the district agreed to retain language allowing raises based on experience, called step increases, but it would not actually pay the money now. Keeping the language in the contract, though, could be important for teachers in future negotiations. Teachers also are concerned about new teacher evaluations, health benefits and how a longer school day for students is being implemented.

A piece of wrestling history found....

Finally saw TDKR yesterday. I liked it. It wasn't my favorite of the three but it was a good wrap up to the trilogy. One thing i noticed (and maybe it was just me) but did Alfred's accent get a whole lot thicker this movie??? or did it just seem that way due to more lines this movie??? then again i haven't watched the other movies in a while so maybe it's me. Either way KUDOS to Mr. Nolan. A very well done trilogy indeed :notworthy

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter getting 3 stars from Roger Ebert. I can't wait to see this movie. looks entertaining... Coming out next year a prequel to one of my favorite

I may or may not be in the minority but I liked the season opener of Burn Notice..... I also thought the season opener of Suits was top notch. Can't wait for Falling Skies. (I love mindless tv)

I was watching Hot Tub Time Machine last night and was surprised to see Don Draper's wife naked and topless riding Craig Robinson. The actress (Jessica Pare) is very nice on Mad Men but she's pretty stunning as a blond too.... :notworthy

Well...OF COURSE the orginal Green Lantern is gay. I mean he's a super hero who's powered by flame, cannot abide by the tacky color yellow and he's vulnerable to wood. Pretty obvious to me

Finished 2/3 of The Hatfields vs. McCoys and so far it's been pretty entertaining. As far as i can tell it's been fairly accurate as well. I think if it wasn't for the uncle on the Hatfield's side (the always excellent Tom Berringer) the feud might have died early.

I am SOOOO sick and tired of watching the sox score runs just to watch them give up runs then next half inning. Someone needs to tell the Sox pitchers that having a lead is a good thing.

Since i was stuck working last night, (which means sleeping till midafternoon) i couldn't make the Sox crushing of the Indians so the family went to the Joliet Slammers game. they beat Evansville 5-1. Beautiful night for baseball. Happy birthday to all.

He goes, "Vince wants this scene in the movie where Kane's character pulls out his penis, and he wants it to be three feet long." He goes, "Yes, Vince wants Kane's penis to be three feet long, and none of the producers are saying anything about it." So I sat there, I go, "Oh, this is not good. This is not good. I read their version of my script, and I'll be honest, it wasn't good. Every cliché that I purposely wanted to take out, they had put back in.
