  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 10:35 PM) How about Aaron stays in Phili. He will stay in Phili... But it seems like we should get more back for Vazquez than just Gordon.
  2. How about Ryan Sweeney and Javy Vazquez for Tom Gordon and Aaron Rowand?
  3. KEEP FREDDY!!! He's proven what he can do for us in the playoffs and during the clutch games last year and some this year. Yeah he shows his frusterations to his teamates when they can't field a ball (Iguchi, R. Mack), but that just shows he's a competitive guy. If there is one guy we should move for reliever help, it should better damn be Javy. I agree with Boz, he's a mental midget.
  4. Flash is definitley on the market. I'm sure KW will make a few calls in regards to him. But what would it cost to bring him back to Chicago? Also what do you guys think about bringing back Roberto Hernandez to Chicago? Here are the #s: Roberto Hernandez: 0-2 2.56 era with 28 Ks and 19 BBs in 40 appearances. His walks are kind of concerning, but he can definitley take Pollites job in the pen.
  5. Getting Rowand back would give the team a big boost for the 2nd half, the 3 stooges would be back, the fans would go crazy for him. However, he is not worth Vazquez and R. Mack. McCarthy just got used to adjusting to being a reliever, and it would be bad for him to have to re-adjust to being a starter. If this rumor is true, then I hope KW has a plan of getting a replacement for Vaz, such as Schmidt.
  6. If we can get Andruw Jones this team would be absolutely stacked. And like I said before, almost unfair for our opponents. I'm sure KW will inquire about Jones. But right now his first priority is: #1: shoring up the bullpen, notably Pollite's spot. Sorry Cliff, but your our mop up guy and we cant afford that going down the stretch. I've heard Roberto Hernandez' name quite frequently from ESPN and Gammons and it would be a good pick up. #2: either fix Javy Vazquez or trade him for some bullpen help or another starter. This guy is damn lucky he gets 8 runs/ game from this offense. He has nasty stuff but doesnt know how or when to use it. I've heard Schmidt's name and it wouldn't be a bad pick up, but will he that much better than Javy? #3: replace Anderson w/ Jones, Figgins etc... Its simple, if we get Jones (who is one of the best defenders in baseball and can hit the ball hard) we would be just tooo damn powerful. I would love it! Imagine this: Pods, Gooch, Thome, Konerko, Dye, Jones, AJ, Crede, Uribe Wow
  7. This team reminds me of the 2004 Red Sox actually. So im not saying we CANT win the World Series, just our pitching NEEDS to get it together. Why CANT we have both solid pitching and solid hitting? It can happen. In fact this team hasn't even reached its full potential yet in my opinion. When it all comes together, look out MLB! The Champs will riegn supreme.
  8. Question for ya guys. What you rather have the small ball, solid defensive, 1 run winning team, dominate pitching team we had last year or the out slugging team that gives up a ton of runs team that we have this year?
  9. Well hopefully my boy Contreras can show the rest of the staff how to pitch tommorow because this is starting to piss me off.
  10. you can only outslug opponents for soo long. our pitching just isn't the same as last year. whats the team era anyways? it must be near 5 this is pathetic. I think the Red Sox are waaayy better this year than last year and right now the Red Sox and Tigers are better than us. (Right now that is) Kenny can still improve the team and maybe our pitching can wake uP?
  11. How come Widge caught good games last year and this year everytime he's behind the plate, the pitcher gets shelled? Should we blaim the pitchers or him? Is he really calling that bad of a game?
  12. Crede and Thorton = Nice surprises Vazquez and Garland = Kind of dissappointing Thats just about right on the money. Damn Sox fans are smart.
  13. The AL central is by far the best division. Its the best division for 1 main reason PITCHING! Yeah having Leyland back managing helps, the Sox winning it all helps fuel other teams, but if you look at the White Sox, Tigers and Twins pitching its no surprise why this division is the best. The way i see it is, if we continue to have success vs Detroit and the Twins this year, and those 2 teams beat the crap out of eachother the rest of the way, we can win this thing. ** Lets not forget Cleveland so fast either, they had a extremely HOT second half last season, and there is no reason they won't be able to do it again. Should be a fun race down the stretch with hopefully us being ontop of the AL Central mountain for back to back seasons However, the Wildcard wouldn't be dissappointing either
  14. You know how many guys would love to play for Ozzie? I remember Manny saying he would love coming here and playing for Ozzie. Who gives a crap about a washed up reliever who is on his last leg's opinion.
  15. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 12:06 AM) Thome/Konerko/Dye/Jones? Nope. That wouldn't be fair. not fair at all! That would probably go down as being one of the top 5 offensive lineups of all time. He is good defensively as well. There is no way Atlanta trades him, unless Bobby Cox really wants to rebuild? At his age I doubt that. Chipper and Andruw Jones are Atlanta lifers.
  16. so long Pollite, thanks for 2005. Let the Welcome Back Roberto Hernandez cheering begin! Go get him KW
  17. I would give Javier one or two more starts before we all start thinking about plugging BMac into the rotation. Javier has nasty stuff, he just needs to know when to use it. When he gets the batters behind, he tries to blow them away with his fast ball, and thats when he gets pounded. He needs to rely on his slider more (his nastiest pitch). I guess he is showing latley why he is our 5th starter, however i truly believe the 'real' Javy will show up soon. Do you guys remember how bad you wanted Contreras gone last season around this time? or do you guys remember how you wanted Freddy traded early on this season? Freddy is on his game now and Jose is awesome. Javy and Coop will figure it out.
  18. IMO it will be Contreras, Jenks, Buerhle, Iguchi and Dye and it will be a crying shame if either Konerko or Thome doesnt go. It will also be a shame if Crede doesnt go. But I understand that every team needs 1 representative and not everyone can go.
  19. Hahahahahaha this win shuts up the one thing Cubs fans have this year: the lame Barrett punch. AJ punched the hell out of that ball for a WHITE SOX WINNNNNERRRR! Ahahahahahahahaha Happyness is being a Sox fan.
  20. As Hawk would say, this game was Uribe-licous!
  21. Hawk mentions this quite frequently, Freddy pitches just good enough to win. That is why Freddy is soo valauble. His ERA doesn't bother me as long as he continues to pile up wins im happy. Garland seems to be on or off, take your pick. Javier has just been bad lateley. He gets ahead of the hitters and throws meatballs right down the middle. Why do this Javy? You have pitches to work with! He needs to throw his slider more. That seems to be his best pitch. The fact of the matter is, Javy needs to get his ass in gear, he is showing us all why he is the 5th starter.
  22. wow! i hated that camera work, made it look like it was heading to the seats!
