  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 03:28 AM) Wait, what's going on? Is the game over? Where am I? your not in heaven. your just a fan of the never-die-white sox! DONT STOP BELIEVING! I admit i pretty much did when it was 9-2 and monero was in the game.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 02:06 AM) Is this Ozzie? I must have been watching a different game, but he was pretty crappy even besides those two homers. We're fine. If Ozzie's going to act depressed in the dugout, then I hope KW fires him tomorrow. Fire a guy who won the oranization's first title in 88 years? I dunno... I think KW and Ozzie just need to talk about everything and clear some air.
  3. Anyone else noticing that Ozzie looks depressed on the dugout tonite? Unfortanatley it appears to be rubbing off on the team as they also seem out of it tonite. Oh well at least we finally reached that 9 game winning streak. I hope Ozzie doesn't act this way the rest of the season. We need that guy who cheers his guy on, smiles, and yells at the ump when neccessary.
  4. Hawk and DJ have really came a long way together. I really enjoy listening to them. And when Hawk retires we will all see: UHHHH OHHHH BYEEE BYEEE t-shirts.
  5. QUOTE(kramer99 @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 09:03 PM) stupid thought....what if gay people arent offended by what ozzie said in specific, but more that he is associating marriotti with gay people?.... i know that would piss me off! nice
  6. I think Ozzie only has control of his pitchers and not any of the possition players. So IMO the White Sox representatives will be: Konerko, Dye, Buerhle, Contreras and Jenks. We need to continue to vote Pauly and JD. I like JD's chances due to Vlad's and Sheffields injuries. Forget writing in Thome, that is just taking votes away from Pauly and Thome isn't even close to making it.
  7. i was watching cold pizza and they actually mentioned: "why don't they fire Ozzie?" Hahahaha yea right, like JR would fire Ozzie just from a little statment
  8. by the looks of things BA is here to stay. NO TO JUNIOR! Let him stay in Cinncy where the fans love him (for some reason?)
  9. I was at sundays game. Wow i was impressed by all of us Sox fans who turned out there. I was even more impressed with the class the Reds fans have as well as their ballpark. It was a beautiful ballpark. They kept calling us the defending champs and their fans gave us mad respect, saying how good we are and how scary of a team we are to play. Nothing but class in cinncinnati! I hope they do well the rest of the year. When the game was over, the PA annoucner said thank you "reds and white sox fans for coming out to the ballpark" I thought that was really cool. It seems like the White Sox nation is growing. We need to go out to KC, Wrigley, Cleveland, Detroit, and Minnesota the rest of the year to invade these ballparks as well.
  10. I'm just going to ignore the fact that the Tigers are playing the Cubs and hope they lose all 3 games. SO I am cheering for Tigers loses and ignoring who they are playing. I will never say "Go Cubs" its just not in my blood.
  11. Riske was the one guy we had trouble with last season when he was on Cleveland. I like this move. Good job KW! I would still like one more solid arm down there.
  12. I want to see the offense explode tonite!!! No offense to Padilla, but there is no way he should have shut us out.
  13. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) Here's to hoping flasing lights in windows are not tipping Buerhrle's pitches to Rangers hitters this year. Go SOX!!! LMAO! I forgot about that. Those damn flashing lights! Texas= cheaters! How else would they score 8 runs off Javier... haha j/k Lets take this series and head on off to Cincy and take that series. I want them to finish off the road trip 5-2. It would also be nice for them to have a nice string of wins. What is our biggest win streak this year?
  14. Im heading to sunday's game in Cinnci. This is my first time going there. What time would you guys recomend I leave sunday morning?
  15. That was a championship type effort in the 9th. I'm actually proud of this loss. Now take that momentum into Texas and lets take 2 there.
  16. hmm probably 2 top pitching prospects and a top OF prospect. They might even ask for Brian Anderson. But i do know Minnesota is always looking to improve there pitching depth down in the farm. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) In a buyer's market, decent relievers can cost quite a bit. One may be surprised. Hunter would be a rent-a-player for the Sox, and knowing how much it would cost, it would be detrimental to the Sox in the long run to trade for Hunter. He can remain in your Sox fantasies, but I would bet good money he's not coming to Chicago. KW and JR want to repeat THIS YEAR! Your right it probably wont happen. But like i said, never say never. There are pleanty of other OF options out there that would work also. I'm just interested in seeing what KW will do.
  17. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) If you trade for Hunter, that's all you trade for. We will be spent. I would much much rather take a lower level CF like Brady Clark and still be able to upgrade the pen a good deal. I disagree. Yea it would take alot to bring Hunter over. However, it shouldn't take alot to bring over a decent reliever. Even if KW adds Hunter, he can still afford to bring in a few relievers. QUOTE(wilmot825 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 08:06 PM) I would be super pissed if we got Hunter, he is a jag off...Not only does he run over our catcher for no reason, but also said we didnt deserve to host the All-Star game in '03. Im pretty sure Mienkeiwicz was the one who said that not Hunter. AND as far as that play at the plate went, Ozzie actually praised the play. He called it ' a clean legal hit '. We were all pissed when it happened, but if it was our player doing it to them, wouldn't you cheer the situation? I don't know about you guys, but I would welcome Torii to southside family with ease. He would fit this team perfect! Those of you still bitter at him for 2003 need to move on! We already have one of those fiesty former Twins (AJ) why not one more to add to this championship roster?
  18. With KW, never say never. Look for Anderson to head back to charlotte very soon. This means we will be seeing alot of Ozuna and RMack out there. I'm almost possitive KW doesnt want these guys playing 'every day' as they are better served as bench players. This means give some other prospect a shot out there or go find a center fielder. Hunter would fit on this team perfectly. Yea he doesn't have the bat he once had in 2002, but that can easily be improved on this lineup. He has speed also, is a gold glover, and has that fire plug attitude that AJ has. AJ is a menace while Torii is street tough- traits Ozzie loves in players. The talk is right now that Minnesota's asking price is too high and we can't afford his contract. Well with the record attendance going on so far this season, i say we can afford him, not to mention we'll only be paying for a half a season. If they cant afford him next year, then just buyout his remaining contract for $2mill. Offer a mega-package of prospects, do what it takes. Our lineup would look alot better: Pods LF Gooch 2B Thome DH Konerko 1B Dye RF Peirzynski C Crede 3B Hunter CF Uribe SS Can you say SCARY!
  19. 1. The Cubs wont trade any of thier talent to the Sox. So no Pierre. 2. I love Hunter, but he isn't that much of an upgrade offensively over Anderson. PLUS it is within the division. It would take alot to get him over here. 3. I like Freel, but Cincy is in the race. Lets see how things are panning come late July. 4. If Gathright is in the minors what makes you think he can improve here? Like Uribe he goes in major slumps and major hot streaks inconsistently. 5. Soriano has surprised people out in LF this year. But changing him over to CF might be too much to ask. Unless we can move Pods to centerfield and keep Soriano out in LF? Hmmm I like that i dea. 6. Luis Gonzalaz- No 7. Pat Burrell- Eh 8. Ibanez- He's a gamer but has a bad attitude. I remember him saying that he wanted out in KC in 2003 when they were in the divisional race. What kind of players says that?
  20. Last year I said 'hell no' to this griffey deal. We had a legitamate center fielder in Aaron Rowand. This year we have a minor leaguer out there who can play some defense, but doesnt have a clue behind the plate. I would actually consider this move. JR is older now, but he is still sub-average out there which maybe enough for KW to land him. However, as many of you Soxtalkers out there stated, the Reds are very much in the race early on this year. They won't be trading him anytime soon. We should talk more about this come the trade deadline. For now, lets focus on patching up the bullpen. It was refreshing to see BMac bounce back tonite, Jenks and Thorton have held there own, Cotts needs to be more consistent and Pollite is burned out. We need 2 solid righties for our pen. Whose out there?!?!?
