  1. QUOTE(kevo880 @ Jan 9, 2008 -> 06:52 PM) what about kip wells? i thought he went with josh fogg in the todd ritchie trade? or was that in 99? Wasnt he already a starter for us though or atleast a reliever?
  2. QUOTE(A's fan @ Jan 9, 2008 -> 12:26 AM) excuse me? whats fake about it? I'm an Italian,Agrentinan from the bay area who now lives in NY with family in NY as well. Nothing is fake about me sir. lol excuse Rock, he just upset his team has lot 3 straight championships ;p
  3. QUOTE(A's fan @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 08:35 PM) Thanks I hope there at least average because swish was our best player and young star next to eric chavez. Whatever happened to Eric Chavez anyways. These last past couple of seasons he has seemingly been really poor after being such a good player to begin his career.
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 10:35 PM) Chris Simms I could understand, but I'd rather go Orton/Griese than Harrington. Lol no way. Harrington gets a bad rep but he has had crap to deal with his entire career. Ideally Id like to bring back Grossman and just retool the O-Line. But if for some reason that doesnt happen id much prefer Simms, Harrington, or McNabb over what we have and Culpeper.
  5. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 10:38 PM) Is everyone forgetting about Steve Nash. He just has a few MVP's and is still pretty damn awesome. I'd probably put Nash (Paul is a very close 2nd and will soon pass Nash), Deron, Parker, Davis (I knock Davis a bit more than most due to his injuries and I will admit when healthy he is a better player than Parker). By the way, welcome to Soxtalk Eh I did forget about nash.... That being said this year I think Chris Paul has been better and deserves the allstar game more. Nash 2nd than Baron.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 10:13 PM) Honestly, if Grossman were to walk, I could think of worse options than taking a flyer on Culpepper. Id rather take a flyer on a guy like Chris Simms or Joey Harrington
  7. QUOTE(A's fan @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 09:32 PM) I think you guys will right your ship but I'm not sure rex is the answer for your franchise. I think a vetran like culpepper would put your team over the top along with a healthy bunch on defense and O-line. The vikes are one diemesinol, the lions are well the lions and rogers will be gone soon, the pack are riding high right now but once farve throws his picks they are done. Lol, sorry but Culpepper sucks and I want no part of him. I dont know if Rex is the answer or not... but Culpepper definitely isnt and I really want no part of him. We need to address O-Line first and foremost and hopefully keep Briggs would be ideal.
  8. Wow refs are really holding their whistles tonight... Eddy Curry seemingly mauled Tyrus Thomas and nothing.
  9. Mike Brown is still under contract for next year to the best of my knowledge. Now because of his injuries I wouldnt be overly surprised if we cut him him. But, who knows at this point.
  10. QUOTE(A's fan @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 08:43 PM) There was a big article from Chicago, bay area newspapers on the raiders pursuing the bears free agent WR Benard Berrian and the niners going after lance briggs. Are they worth the big pay day? They are both hometown guys as well from Nor cal close to the bay area. what do you guys think of mike brown leaving as well? Do you guys think you'll pursue Culpepper? I wouldnt be surprised if we lost Berrian and Briggs. Although, I know the Niners just spent a ton seemingly last off-season on f/a's so dont know their exact cap situation. As for Raiders pursuing Berrian, I dont see why they should invest that much money into an avg. WR. Although with a QB like yours you need a deep threat.
  11. QUOTE(A's fan @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) do you watch the games on wgn as well? whats your opinion on my warriors and do you think Barron should be an all star over deron williams, chris paul and tony parker? do you think steven jackson should get some consideration? I think Chris Paul deserves to be an all star over all of them. My list would probably be 1. Chris Paul 2. Baron Davis 3. Deron Williams 4. Tony Parker. As far as Steven Jackson, I think he is a very important part of the Warriors but I dont think he is an all star.
  12. QUOTE(A's fan @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 08:23 PM) I've watched a few bulls games on WGN and i'm not too impressed with Noah myself but tyrus thomas has played great in some spurts because hes so athletic. why doesn't noch get more PT with the bulls? Him, heinrich, gordon are your best shooters. In my opinion Nocioni has been getting to much playing time. I think honestly he has regressed this year and starting to become one of the players I dread to see. Noah on the other hand to me has been a pleasant surprise. I expected the worse with the pick and I think so far he has been very good.
  13. This lineup with Gray, Noah, and Tyrus has been very entertaining to watch. I hope all 3 keep getting more playtime as the season progresses.
  14. If your going to buy a new TV I work at the Sears electronics in woodfield mall. Buy from me so I can make commision
  15. Yeah I dont know what I did with all my time before soxtalk lol. I easily spend more time on this site than I do anything else... well maybe I watch history channel more than i look at this site but besides that
  16. yeah im an illini fan...but also a big ten fan. Even if Ohio state isnt near the top of my list they are the team im rooting for.
  17. Im a big Jose Lopez fan, so if we deal with the Mariners id hope he was involved.... maybe somethng like Konerko/Richar for Lopez, Jones, and a spec? Idonno how much of a prospect is Jones anyways?

QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 6, 2008 -> 02:43 PM) It was an effective zombie movie. It had zombies, great music, and was a fun movie to watch. I'll see it again relatively soon hopefully and will expand on this if you want, but I enjoyed it (also, let it be known, I'm a big Danny Boyle fan, and I did really enjoy the original; I just felt like I got more of what I wanted (zombies!) out of the second) Lol, i think you are the only person on the planet who likes 28 weeks later. I wanted to enjoy the movie but my god it was so horribly bad.
  19. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 08:45 AM) A big hint that Konerko could be on the way out is how much the sox have tried to add vocal "leaders" this offseason in Orlando Cabrera and now Swisher. With Dye, MB and Thome already here, PK could be the odd man out. PK has always been viewed as a quiet, intense leader. With the new additions, the sox seem to be shaking things up as far as leadership goes. But if they have an intense guy like PK around, that might limit the ability of the new guys to speak out. Im not saying whether we will trade Konerko or not but you are looking wayyyy too much into it.
  20. This is the same KW who put the pieces together to win the world series in 05, which included getting rid of Clee/Maggz. Than the following off-season was able to add a guy like Thome and Vazquez which should have made us better and many thought he was one of the better GM's in the league at the time. Now.... because players didnt perform its the GM's fault? I stand by KW till the end, I think he is still better than a lot of other guys out there.
  21. QUOTE(AirScott @ Dec 23, 2007 -> 11:24 AM) I always figured he 'roided before the 2005 season -- remember when he had matched his 2004 HR total in about a week, and everyone credited it to his 50 doubles in 2004 turning into home runs? There were some steroid whispers then, too. If I remember right everyone was crediting it too those new contacts that all those players were wearing that year. I think Pierznski was using them too.
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 23, 2007 -> 05:11 AM) This trade is SO much the Rangers way of doing things. Suck for years because you have no pitching, then trade pitching for hitting. They still have Hurley and Diamond... Hurley is probably a better prospect at this point than Volquez or Diamond. Actually have Kiker too.... Id say Kiker and Hurley have more potential than any pitcher we have in our minors at this time.
  23. My friend is a diehard Rangers fan and he always was raving about Volquez... as in he thought he was the best of the DVD trio. Stuff wise, he has some real nasty stuff... mental wise I think he is lacking.
  24. QUOTE(rockren @ Dec 21, 2007 -> 01:59 AM) I must say that this thread has been the biggest waste of time since I started posting here. There is a simple solution to that.... dont read this thread. This is a message board, none of us are GM's..... so technically you can say almost everything is a "waste" besides announcements of trades/signings. But.... since the point is to share idea's or thoughts... than threads like these are perfectly fine.
  25. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Dec 20, 2007 -> 01:41 PM) No matter how well he started off, he still plays somewhat dirty and I'll always hate that contract. Say what you will about his level of play or his contract.... but I dont consider Nocioni a dirty player at all. He is just not a sissy boy that runs away from people... I never knew that taking a charge from guys bigger than you now made you dirty.
