  1. QUOTE (Steff @ Apr 21, 2008 -> 12:42 PM) I can't stand his trotting ass, but this start is nothing new. Every year it's the same turtle start and it's the same threads calling for him to be traded. Come July there won't be enough chap stick to go around. Not by me lol, I have never ever liked Konerko and ofcourse his crappy start this year aint helping. I was actually hoping he would be gone after the 05 year but wasnt the case. That being said he will heat up prob mid may to early june and all the kong lovers will be back.
  2. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 09:46 PM) Right... To be fair usually the victim and especially victim's mother will make the injuries seem worse than they really are. But regardless the fact she needed to go to the hospital and that it was a group beating not even a fair fight makes me want to see these kids go to jail for a long time.
  3. could uribe even go to first on that since Crede was at first. Even though he did advance on the wild throw.
  4. Crede and Quentin had some pretty crappy ab's to end the game. It would be nice if they could just make the pitcher earn it instead of chasing the same crap over and over.
  5. really picked off twice when we never steal... thats pretty pathetic.
  6. the game score is only 2-1 and everyone is seemingly hopeless and pessimistic. Cmon got to have faith in the team going to tie and take the lead this inning =)
  7. QUOTE (peanut33tillman @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 02:19 PM) I dont see what point you're making, granted Uribe cant hit a lick but based on your assesment Thome I guess shouldnt be in the lineup either as he falls in that sub .200 range as well...Lord, we're 11 games into the season, he's played a great 2B and hell if aint broke don't fix it we got enough boppers on this team anyways... If I was making my judgement off of Uribe by using this season as my only reason than maybe you got a point.... but than you look at the past 2 seasons where Uribe hit in the .230's with a sub .300 OBP....Thome only had a OBP north of .400 both years. Honestly, what were you trying to prove by comparing Uribe to Thome?
  8. Uribe has done nothing so far to deserve the starting nod at 2B and don't know why anyone wants him to stay there. Granted, he does play good defense but when your batting sub .200 I don't care how good your defense is you aren't deserving a starting spot. I will say that I don't want the team to rush Richar back or anything of that sort, let him get completely healthy and a week or so in the minors before putting Danny back in action.
  9. Yeah, once Verizon comes to your town id definitely suggest switching. I also heard not only is it going to be better quality but either similar or lower price than comcast too.
  10. Does anyone know weather reports or whatnot, plan on leaving but dont want to go all the way there and find out its postponed.
  11. doesnt mean much to me, if they didnt win the World Series he still wouldnt be welcomed back in boston.
  12. I think Crede wants to stay with the whitesox, but assuming he stays relatively healthy.... It would be hard to pass on a guy like Harden. That is a potential ace and we could put him 3rd in the rotation. That would definitely set us up for the playoff stretch.
  13. If Crede keeps producing and Harden is made available... would anyone be willing to package Fields in a deal for him? I dont even know if we have enough to get Harden but just putting it out there.
  14. I have no problems with the mods here, ive never been suspended or had to be warned or anything. If you do it's probably because it was deserved. But back to the actual topic of this thread.....I wont say I'm wrong about Crede until he lasts a full season without his back flaring up and he actually produces. I want him too but it is a long season.
  15. He has only had 1 full season in the bigs, this season his OBP is .400 so far lol and OPS over 1.... this all while batting .217
  16. QUOTE (Nokona @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 05:46 PM) I had a Cubs fan try to explain to me that Henry Blanco is a great hitter on another forum I visit. Hilarious Only when he faces the whitesox, he always seems to crush us. As for the Cubs I definitely think they will be playoff contenders at the very least, Marmol and Wood are 2 filthy guys to end their games too.
  17. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 05:52 PM) Can we just close this thread before the same people come and rehash the same arguments. It's over, let it go. Its a message board, why cant we talk about ex-sox or in this case a past top prospect? But like someone else said, I think that Quentin makes the loss of Young hurt a lot less. That being said, I still kind of wish we kept him, losing Anderson obviously but still making the trade for Vazquez. And Im an Anderson fan btw too lol.
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 06:14 PM) Luckily we have a CF doing just fine for us so pitching is more important and we don't miss CY as much. I think getting Quentin from Arizona helps take away the loss of Chris Young too, especially since its the same team we gave CY.
  19. I think I heard somewhere last year longest winning streak was 4 games...which would make this current win streak all the sweeter
  20. I'm glad Crede has started the season well, I didn't comment too much on the Fields/Crede situation, but I was disappointed initially when Fields was sent to the minors. I know Crede isn't going to hit like this all season, but if he can just give us the type of production he had in 06 I'll be ecstatic over his performance. Also, assuming we are in contention and Crede is producing I really would not want to trade him.... Fields would have to be really tearing up AAA to justify it.
  21. Yeah the umps strike zone has been pretty bad... but it has been bad both ways.
  22. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 03:56 PM) is this the first hitter javy has gotten ahead of? to me it seems he has been able to get ahead just not finish.
  23. Frank Thomas with the grandslam tonight to help the bluejays sweet the Red Sox... I love the big hurt.
  24. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 12:53 AM) God, I hope we didnt ruin Josh by sending him down. If this was all it would take to "ruin" Fields he didn't belong with the majorleague club anyways.
