  1. I really want Rose but like its been previously mentioned hard to go wrong either way. Knowing our luck, Paxson will go ahead and draft Brook Lopez with the first overall pick and Bulls will suck forever ;p.
  2. I think ive seen enough of Wasserman, not saying MacDougal is the answer.... but he was better than what we are getting out of Ehren
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 15, 2008 -> 01:59 AM) why is Adam Lind not in the majors? I mean, I understand some love for retreads Wilkerson and Mench as much as the next guy, but he's tearing the cover off the ball. Anyways, Getz ends up 4-4 with a walk, homer, and 3 runs...just had a monster game. Up to .298/.360/.484/.844 on the year and I think you have to see a call up in his future. He looks solid as hell. oh yeah, and Eldred had two more hits to raise his average to .301. Not that it matters a lot, I just happen to like Eldred. If Richar doesnt pan out this year we might open up next season with Getz as the starting 2B. Ive always been a big fan of Getz even though his ceiling is seemingly limited.
  4. For the longest time I wanted to retool the offense. I have no problem keeping Nick Swisher, Carlos Quentin, Jermaine Dye(DH), AJ Pieryznski, and would like to give Fields his shot. As for the rest(Konerko, Thome, Uribe, Cabrera, Crede) I want them far away from our offense. It would be nice if we couldy pry one of Kemp/Loney from LA and even though I have Pierznski on the keep list have no problem if we targeted Jeff Clement. I know we lose a lot of power in Konerko, Thome, and even Crede but I think it would be for best. Id have no problem batting Quentin 3rd and Dye 4th to replace middle of order. Danny Richar could be the future at 2B but I dont know about that yet, I guess we will at the end of season assuming he comes back by June. Assuming Shelby keeps up his production gets a promotion and keeps up the hitting in Birmingham he could be an option next year as well... but thats kind of a reach. But im prob over-reacting and nothing I just said was worth anyones time to read
  5. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 12, 2008 -> 11:48 PM) I personally dislike Shangai's skyline. Looks too futuristic. And the Christmas ornament looking things are fugly. Have you actually been there or just going off pictures? Because I took a boat ride viewing the entire skyline and thought it was beautiful
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 12, 2008 -> 08:12 PM) The goal for completion is 2010, correct? I can't wait. The best skyline in the world gets that much better. Aren't there other building in the process of construction right now? And what's up with the Trump Tower? Has that been completed? I kinda like the Shanghai skyline more, but to each their own
  7. I think the DH role is because he is still coming back from injury. That and the OF is kinda crowded in WS with Sanchez, Gomes, Orlando, and I think one other. I know pre-draft there was an article about Shelby and I really wanted the whitesox to draft him and was ecstatic when we did. It definitely would be nice if he could play 2B in the majors but that looks like less and less of a possibility.
  8. If your looking for a 32 inch tv Samsung just released a new model relatively recently. Its cheaper than most TV's, 699.99 regular price and by far the best quality of all the tv's that size. For comparison sake, last years sony model is 26 inches and reg price in 799 or 899 cant remember off the top of my head. These are Sears prices im giving you, bestbuy/circuit city are probably similar.
  9. He shows a little patience at the plate and bam magic happens.
  10. I usually recommend people the magellan or garmin. Personally I think the Magellans are a bit nicer. Both have voice commands and touch screens and whatnot. But the models at my Sears atleast, the Magellan offers a bigger screen and a few more features. Unless you want to go all out id suggest the Magellan 4200 or I think for Garmin its the Nav300
  11. My understanding about it all there is no difference in quality in the silver plated or gold plated hdmi cables. Although ive been told in moist area's and whatnot the silver ones deteriate faster. And like its been mentioned before as long as your a foot or under in length there isnt going to be a difference. That being said after spending 1000-3000 on a tv why cheap out on a price difference of 20-30 like someone else previously mentioned... always wondering if quality could be a little better. Also id suggest buying a cleaning kit which is only maybe 10 dollars because dont want to use just water and def. not windex on your screen.
  12. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 4, 2008 -> 10:50 PM) He seemed like a decent enough guy but he was also trying to sell me a $1,600 tv so who knows. He didn't have much of a sense of humor, I don't think he smiled once the whole time we talked. If he was rude or had an attitude in anyway I wouldn't have given him the commission (out of spite of course), though it wouldn't surprise me if he was a dick away from the sales floor. He struck me as the kind of guy who stands around all day b****ing to his co-workers about the dumbass customers he's forced to deal with on a daily basis. Yeah you definitely prob had the d-bag Joe. He knows his s*** when it comes to TV's but always pushes customers to tv's that give him the highest commision % regardless of best interest for customer. Ive seen him be a complete dick to some customers but they still buy the tv off him so I guess they dont mind being treated like garbage. Pretty much everyone in dpt. hates him lol and he steals sales on a regular basis.
  13. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 4, 2008 -> 10:33 PM) I just bought a 42" Sony LCD from the Sears in Woodfield a few months back. Some old dude sold it to me. As for the topic at hand, I currently have a Blu Ray player and Cable Box hooked up via HDMI cables I bought for under $5 on Amazon and they work great. Lol only 2 old guys in dept and both with the name Joe. One is a dbag and the other is really cool.. so maybe that will tell you which one was the one who helped you.
  14. Buy the tv off me at Sears woodfield ;p. Support your fellow sox fan and his need for commision
  15. QUOTE (The Critic @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 08:15 AM) This is wonderful news. No more falling asleep during a Hawks game and waking up to the hideous David Stein or (God forbid) Mike North show. Now the Sox need to leave the Score and I'll be happy. How the hell does that clown have a sports radio show. After I listened his first week I turned it off expecting him to be fired within a month and yet i turn the radio on last week and he is still around. BRING BACK KEVIN WHEELER!!!!!
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 05:14 PM) HOW THE f*** CAN ANYONE BLAME OZZIE RIGHT NOW!?!?!?? SWISH AND BA CANT GET BUNTS DOWN? YEAH, f*** YOU OZZIE! Some of you are f***ing ridiculous. It was a fantastic call and a brilliant idea. It was a retarded call, all we needed was an easy sac fly and game over. No reason to call for a bunt there when this team has provent bunting is not its strength. You play to your players strength.. bunting wasnt it.
  17. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 05:32 PM) Ugh, If we lose this ones on ARam. Not really? Our leadoff men didnt particularily perform any better. Especially with a chance to get an insurance run in.
  18. This has been a frustrating series to watch.... we might still take 3 of 4 but very ugly
  19. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 10:19 PM) Only player I would take on that team other than Chris Paul is David West and maybe Peja. Tyson is the same player he was in Chicago, but Chris Paul makes him look much much better. Put Chris Paul on the Jazz and wow, they would be able to do some amazing, amazing things. PG - Paul SG - Brewer SF - Kirilenko PF - Boozer C - Okur Wow, to think about all the oops with Kirilenko and the kickouts to Okur would be insane. There is one huge difference between the Chandler that played for us and the way he plays now for New Orleans. That being foul trouble, with us he couldnt stay on floor, he was still a rebounding monster when on the court though. Besides Boozer I dont think anyone on the Jazz is better than what Paul has.
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 10:47 PM) If Philly is going to be included, then honestly Chicago should be too. I would say we probably have the same proportion of uneducated but know-it-all meatheads and mouth-breathing fans (fully accounted for between both the Cubs and Sox fanbases and fully represented within the Bears) as Philly does. However, they are a lot meaner than we are, we don't boo Santa Claus or throw batteries at players. or how about laugh when a player gets a career ending injury. Not saying Chicago is perfect by any means..... Philly is just a whole lot worse.
  21. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 11:18 AM) He's better on a worse team. He is better at this point but I wouldnt neccesarily say on a worse team. A lot of people dont realize the Hornets have a pretty good group of players.
  22. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 09:08 AM) I'm going to go out of the norm, and say Philly. But I do hate New York (uh oh) and Boston also obviously, as most people do. To me Philly and Boston are definitely the 2 worse... but only one was a choice on poll so that was my choice.
  23. Right now its Boston, but to be fair right now they have an elite team in all 3 major sports... any city that has that is going to have a lot of obnoxious fans.
  24. im not a huge rap fan but that list seems horrible. Also Will Smith being on that list is a joke.
  25. Frank is without a doubt the best of all time in our franchis. Although by fans id say Paulie has to be one of the biggest fan favorites.
