  1. I actually found him entertaining sometimes, that being said if i heard him a week straight he would start to bug me and I would need a month long break. But once every so often his show was very enjoyable.
  2. Yeah but there are a lot of times when a younger guy looks older,.... so unless you have actually seen the kid hold back on your generalizations.
  3. QUOTE (earthshiner @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 03:40 PM) well it's not as though Paulie was doing that much until recently anyways so it really makes no difference. at least those two wont pop up twice a game with a 6-4-3 dp. If you think those 2 would give you near the offensive output that you can get from Konerko... well simply put, your crazy.
  4. well if this team hitting wise came into the clutch, especially since Uribe got a hit in Danks position right now we would still have the lead. I dont mind Danks being the 7th inning guy but might want to switch roles when it comes to him facing the best 3 hitters.
  5. god damnit...I dont even know why Danks was benched... guy was cruising. His pitch count might have been high but idonno didnt check.
  6. Derek Lee has been having good ab's each time up, just got the next guys out we should be ok. It is kinda dissapointing how we cant seemingly score without hitting the ball out of the park.
  7. QUOTE (earthshiner @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 03:08 PM) I really like the look of this team without Konerko. We are scoring runs without his pop outs and DPs to the shortstop with one out. If the sox keep on winning like this I say keep paulie on the bench. On the other hand we really aren't getting a lot of production from Anderson/Wise who are basicly Konerko's replacement since Swisher moves to first. So, unless you have a good hitting CF we should trade for in mind Konerko would provide a huge lift to this offense.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 11:34 AM) Bull-f***ing-cock his overall stats are poor. The only thing that is poor is his average and that's been on the climb since the beginning of June. He's been one of the most productive players on this White Sox team and people underappreciate him because he strikes out a lot and he's hitting .228. Mind you, that's a .228 with 14 homers, 12 doubles, and .353/.469/.822 splits when he's actually hit LHP this season too. His avg. is way down, his OBP is ofcourse down because of that, and his slugging/OPS are all down. People are ripping on him because he is having an overall poor season compared to his norms and we need better than Adam Dunn performance out of him.
  9. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 08:18 AM) Career wise Jim Thome is a .280/.407/.562 hitter. Are you going to let half a season of .228/.353/.469 persuade you otherwise? To a degree, Thome is now 38 or 39 years old... he probably only has 1 or 2 seasons left. Its not that improbable his age is catching up to him and isnt the hitter he used to be. Still half a season to pick it up though and salvage this season for him.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 10:31 AM) He recently got a 3 year contract extention. I dont understand why they keep Marriotti, most cub fans find him as intolerable as sox fans.... and if a Cubs fan is going to buy a paper for the sports section its going to be the Tribune... and obviously no whitesox fan is going to buy the Suntimes because of him. Be nice for a paper to show a little class and fire the most classless reporter in the city.
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 05:07 AM) I remember hearing that this Thome guy sucks, didn't I? I dont know why your gloating so much, yes he has performed better as of late but his overall stats are still pretty poor. Last I checked you don't grade a season on just one good month, if even a month. Lets see him keep it up for the rest of the season and hopefully post-season.
  12. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 01:40 AM) teenage girls have turned into such sluts... And what does that make teenage guys?
  13. Lol Hawk is unbearable at times but I do blame that all on Ozuna, well atleast the 4 runs, I guess would have been nice if Floyd could buckle down after that and not of given the 2 run shot to Sanchez.
  14. why would I hope for that? Zambrano was scheduled to miss this series anyways and we have done well vs him in the past. I have no problem with Cubs having success, Im only rooting for one team but its great for the city when both are going well.
  15. this is definitely the biggest series between the chicago teams since 1906. But in the end its just another regular season game vs a non-divisional opponent.
  16. career wise Thome has not done well vs lefties im not going to let half a season of stats to persuade me otherwise. I want Lilly on bench for the first game and than he can start the other 2.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 06:39 PM) I think going solo is awesome. I also never saw any fault in catching a movie solo. Dont have many friends?
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 07:26 PM) I know, just take the Finals for example. The Cardinals won the WS a couple years back does that mean the AL wasnt better? The best team doesnt always win the prize and 1 team also doesnt represent an entire conference in terms of overall strength.
  19. Yeah, i mean nothing is written in stone until the draft actually happens... but id say Rose is most likely headed to the bulls. What im looking forward to is how Paxson is going to build the team around him. In my opinion we have to make a lot of changes, especially with the clustered backcourt.
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 10:29 AM) There would be few people on here that could walk up to the first tee with an injury like that, let alone go out and win a major tournament including a playoff. Its amazing. Given that he was able to put the amount of stress on his injury to play what 90 holes or whatever with the playoffs.... everyone should be able to walk up to the first tee with the same injury.
  21. Plus Lebron is playing in the East which is by far the easier conference. I know T-Mac was in the East before too but his surrounding cast was probably worse than Lebrons since Hill could never stay on the court.
  22. I think Id take Soto at catcher, Cabrera at SS, and Swisher at CF
  23. I guess Tmac, Dirk, and Iverson would take that role now. I don't know if anyone else cares but as a whole I thought this was the worse refereed playoffs in recent history... the home team had such a tremendous advantage that it was ridiculous.
  24. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 03:35 PM) And I wouldnt want Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, or Dennis Rodman. Obviously since none of them were taller than 6'9 they could not have played PF in the NBA. Kind of hard to compare a kid who hasnt played a minute in the NBA to 3 HOF's...
