QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 05:32 PM) Xmen 2 > Final Stand > X men 1 The Punisher wasn't too bad either Yeah your way off on the Final stand being in the middle. It is by far the worse and just an utterly terrible movie. I wouldnt even be opposed to them doing a Hulk and remaking it.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 03:40 PM) Agreed. I was embarrassed for him when he yelled, "God Dammit!" after screwing up a shot and had to be censored. Who is he Happy Gilmore? You were embarrassed for him? .... some of you are unbelievable.
  3. They arent amazing or anything, but compared to past commercials run by the whitesox the current ones are pretty good.
  4. Didnt the Cardinals just win a WS while winning 83 games in the regular season, who cares if we are the "worse" first place team in the majors record wise... All that matters is we make the post-season and what happens in that post-season.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 11:01 PM) Kobe has to win a bunch of rings without a dominant big man as well. Well too be fair, Jordan had Pippen who was pretty dominant by himself. Nobody around Kobe right now is close to on level with Pippen.
  6. QUOTE (TCQ @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 12:14 PM) O sweet good contribution, you must have been in the warroom with kenny when he asked for a player to be drafted without any possibility of playing another position. Konerko was drafted as a Catcher Btw, so they musta been like "Hey Konerko, Paul and can we have him listed as a catcher and then put a caption underneath that which says (NEVER TO BE MADE INTO A FIRST BASEMEN)" Konerko started off playing catcher though so its not really a good example. But, from everything I've heard about Long is he has much more upside as a hitter and Im guessing they would go that way with him after its all said and done, assuming he signs which he wont.
  7. QUOTE (Shadows @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 10:28 PM) I like how you had to wait till the Lakers won a game before you made a reply to this.. It still wasn't a ridiculous claim like you made it seem.. and yet, the Lakers barely win tonight (at home) even with Pierce and Garnett playing like horses*** I do stick to the square circle thread because I don't have to deal with people like you who are in the other threads on here He didnt wait till the Lakers won to make the claim, he told you right away, and now that the game has been played its proven.
  8. Im not watching the game tonight but overall Tim Duncan is definitely a bigger whiner than Kobe.
  9. you knew bad things would happen with how sloppy we have played so far. Now they prob going to score atleast 1 more run as well.
  10. we are seemingly giving up a lot of outs..not good baseball.
  11. we gave up 2 outs in that first inning, hopefully dont repeat that in 2nd.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) Buffalo has a solid year last year. Marshawn Lynch is an absolute monster, and Trent Edwards showed promise toward the end of the year. Lee Evans is a viable #1 WR, and they just added "sure thing" 1st round WR James Hardy out of Indiana in the 2nd round. Also, I understand ATL still has no OL (although they did trade up to get Sam Baker out of USC), and Matt Ryab WILL be an upgrade over Joey Harrington, and they added Michael Turner. But yeah, KC is bad and so are the Ravens and Dolphins. Matt Ryan might be an upgrade long term but how many rookie QB's come into this league and put up good numbers... Especially if you watched the games half the time it wasnt even Harrington's fault. Plus, even though he was old, Dunn did a very solid job for the Falcons and who knows how Turner will be when he isnt behind a good San Diego Oline and behind Tomlinson.
  13. QUOTE (The Beast @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 01:09 PM) Here's a list of guys that are free agent running backs, not sure if they should be considered but here's what I uncovered: Kevin Jones Shaun Alexander Mike Anderson Ron Dayne Samkon Gado Anthony Thomas I actually think the Bears will not bring in anyone and keep all of the running backs they have on the roster. Clearly they do not want to cut Adrian Peterson, a special teams standout, Garrett Wolfe, of whom I'm sure they want to see what he can do for them, and of course Forte, who I believe can be something special if he splits time with Peterson early on and maybe he can become the back of the Bears later on this year. Id love taking a chance on Kevin Jones or bring back the A-Train.
  14. I was critical of both of them but to want either to be outright released even during their low points is definitely over-reacting. I did have a feeling Swisher would turn it around and was pretty silent on him but Cabrera I have to admit was frustrating until relatively recently. The saving grace for both of them is they were able to get on base via walk still fairly often, especially swisher.
  15. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 05:08 PM) Sorry, didn't realize that's what they did. We dont even know if that is what exactly happened. All we know is he showed up and Lovie told him to go home.
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) We've played 29 home games compared to their 34. We're 17-17 on the road, they are 14-16. And the NL is worse than the AL anyway. Have you seen a Pirates game recently? Rockies? They are pathetic. Well everyone seemed to love the Diamondbacks before and I know the Cubs beat them in a series and hell the Pirates just did also.
  17. I think some of you are under-rating the Cubs. Without our weak division we would be hovering around .500 so calling them out for playing weak teams isn't fair. That being said I do think we have a better ball club and even though he has had early season success its hard to be scared of Dempster.
  18. I was thinking him being a college player and all we could get Danks in low A ball.
  19. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 03:11 PM) Maybe Travis Henry? I think that would be the best way to go. Alexander has nothing left and we can mix in Henry with Forte.
  20. What exactly is Cabrera doing on the basepaths lol... he should of ran back a lot faster.
  21. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) I am making this post without doing much thinking, but has Linebrink been the best FA signing by any team this season, respectively? He has been a lot better than what I expected him to be. I just hope he can be this effective throughout his entire contract.
  22. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 02:34 PM) how close was that to being gone? and how good was the catch? It was on the warning track, a pretty routine catch nothing good about it.
  23. QUOTE (The Beast @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 03:29 PM) What pitch in this at-bat gave you that feeling? Just curious. Well personally I thought Joe should of K'd looking in this ab... obviously he K's anyways but still.
  24. MLB Umpires are paid well to do their job, if they aren't doing a good job why shouldn't we be able to call them out. Part of taking a job that puts you on television and whatnot is that your going to be open to that. If anything, umpires and referees get to much of a free pass when they do a bad job
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 02:06 PM) It won't take him too long to learn that stuff. The kid is hugely talented. A lot of guys are talented that never learn that stuff lol. We will see how he progresses into next year but Im not ready to call him a star yet... although he certainly does have that potential.
