QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 03:35 PM) If Carlos Lee would have been on the Sox in 2005, the following players would have never seen home game at the Cell..... Podsednik (still the firestarter that got all of '05 going), Vizcaino, A.J., Iguchi, Shingo, ect. I don't think they could have won with Lee in place of Pods, let alone all the other key components we obatined for the title run because we didnt have to take on El Caballo's enormous contract. I dont buy it.... Shingo and Pieryznski were both pretty cheap, could have still got both with Clee. Maybe not Iguchi and obviously not Vizcaino/Pods.... but Clee is a damn good offensive power and its not like it was our offense that won the WS or that Vizcaino was a dynamite bullpen arm.

QUOTE(JFields27 @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 11:20 PM) Oliver Perez would be nice pickup here ... first we would need to find an established #3 though(hopefully someone like Danks or Floyd become that this season) then Perez would be nice. Who knows if the Mets would be able to sign him with Johan locked up and what not. The only problem maybe with Perez is he would give us 3 lefties in the rotation. I really dont think having 3 lefties is a problem. Not 2 mention that Danks is far from a sure thing at this point.... But yeah, I have personally always been a huge Perez fan and would love having him on the southside. -

Tiger Woods without a doubt.... Not just because of money either. Golf is an individual sport so all the glory is on you plus if its a popularity contest football is nothing outside of USA. I prefer the world sports though... love golf and tennis.... well baseball is first love but after that. -
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 11:29 PM) Whatever. I still stand by my statement that without Pods first half, the Sox miss the playoffs. I dont know if we miss the playoffs or not, depends on I guess who was there instead and his impact. But... Pods was definitely a very important part of that 05 team and when he hit well it made our offense a helluva lot better.

Wouldnt it make more sense for us to include Crede instead of Fields plus like one of Danks/Floyd whichever they choose. Ofcourse Crede would have to prove he is healthy in spring training first. -
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jan 24, 2008 -> 08:05 PM) he was a good QB, but baseball was an easy choice for him. In football, at best he would have been a practice squad QB. He's just too short. But in baseball, he was going to be a top draft pick, get some nice guaranteed money, and be able to work his way up. He is probably taller than Rex Grossman? Id say there are a number of starting QB's he is taller than.... but yeah he isnt your ideal size.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 24, 2008 -> 11:13 AM) Personally, I think you're weirder if you're 28 and have not yet thought about death. That means you've either lived a very boring life, you haven't known someone who's died, or you haven't come to grips with the fact none of us are immortal. 28 is still a fairly young age. Id say most people dont seriously think about their own death till 40's... not seriously anyways until than. With the exception of someone who is terminally ill ofcourse or had some near death experiance.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 03:30 PM) It was only a matter of time... I hate these people. At some point.... there is going to be a guy that has had enough and violence will happen....Not saying Id support it but these people are basicly asking for it.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 09:12 AM) where do you get that about Mazda's they are consistently great cars that keep their value. I didnt do research... I used to work at Carmax so got to drive almost every car imaginable. Besides Jetta's....... to me Mazda's gave people the most problems and were returned getting work done on them. Not too mention I don't think they are the most comfortable cars either.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 22, 2008 -> 09:28 PM) Seriously, not to be down or disrespect any of the people that live in the burbs, or love the burbs, but the best life decision I EVER made was living in Chicago from my early 20's and now moving from my middle to my late 20's. If I had to do it all over again, I would do it twice. Lol Idonno... Ive lived in the suburbs all my life and dont think I could do the city. I think my entire life Ill probably live in a town like Schaumburg... or If I go to the east coast maybe somewhere like Daytona or Virginia beach
-
Well the Civic was the one car I didnt have a problem with on your list. Just, to me personally the Accord seems like a better car for the more practical man.
-
Ok most of those cars you listed are absolute garbage. Definitely stay away from the Lancer and Mazda. If you want a Scion, I personally like the tC if anything. Other cars you should look into are Mitsubishi Galant, Toyota Corolla/Camry, and Honda Accord. All of those should be in your price range and better cars than the 5 you listed.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 21, 2008 -> 06:11 PM) Heres a question: Why Schaumburg? Well Schaumburg is almost like a mini city in itself. Has the mall close by, a pretty big theater and a bunch of different restaurants of all sorts. Not 2 mention has some of the best public schools in the area.

QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jan 21, 2008 -> 10:37 PM) If Linebrink and Dotel step it up next year and Thorton-Macdougal rebound and Wasserman and Logan continue to get better than we could have one of the best pens in the league... good signing!! Lol thats a lot of ifs.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 21, 2008 -> 09:16 AM) It disturbs me that some people make their oatmeal with water instead of milk. Lol while some of these sound a bit crazy this one makes the least sense. If anything it makes you different to use milk rather than water lol . All I have is I guess, cant watch a recorded sports game. If its not live than to me its pointless.

Colon and Flash Gordon were both supposed to resign with us , even as far as telling Cooper see you next year if I remember right. Than both of them went and took huge contracts somewhere else

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 20, 2008 -> 06:33 PM) So...in addition...you can also figure that the K.C. Royals took a look at Bartolo, evaluated his health and asking price, and decided that giving $3 million to Brett Tomko would be a better decision. That's the last place team, the team that spent $55 million on Gil Meche...turning their back on Bartolo Colon, and deciding that Tomko would work better. Please just stop asking for this guy people. The ROYALS don't want him. Please keep that in mind. That Gil Meche signing doesnt look 2 bad now does it? If im correct he had a pretty good season last year no?

Thefolosha makes some bad turnovers on offense it seems but he is a great defender, was breaking Baron Davis's legs all night the other day, and gets a lot of rebounds. When Kirk gets back... I might like a starting lineup of Thabo with him.

QUOTE(A's fan @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 03:16 AM) Any of you watch the game last night? Just got home but I recorded it and as I've said before Monta is one of the best youngsters in the leauge and Barron should be an all star. Good game though especially by Gordon,Nocioni. Ok, Monta Ellis is a nice player but he isnt one of the elite and wont ever be. As for Baron... yeah he pretty much torched us. Although, Sefalosha seemed to be able to slow him down a lot and on offense dribble past him. Duhon/Gordon on the otherhand didnt stand a chance.

QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 06:16 PM) Okay. I just got back from it. Yeah, we're all recovering from headaches due to the filming style. I'd give it 3 stars out of 5. It was a solid movie film because of the grandeur of it all. Lol really that scene surprised you. I thought it was sooo predictable and dumb at the same time. It was completely and should have been avoidable in real life which makes it all the more annoying.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 11:03 AM) Ehh -- I'm not really a fan of those turbos, way too much luck involved. It basically turns into an 'all-in' fest much faster than I want it to. The trick is to catch the people that go all in with a low pair or nothing at all. Ive called and won huge pots with king high or low pair on the board. Sometimes im wrong but majority of the time I can sniff out the losers. That was extremely useful my last tourney where I was really getting crap cards the entire tourney but basicly won by people going all in with nothing and me calling them out.
