Baltimore definitely got the best of that one... Nah no way. Its a pretty good deal for both teams. Ponson is young, and has potential to be a VERY good pitcher. Also, he may just give the Giants what they need to win it all this season. Sounds like Ponson will walk after this year. Baltimore gets three stud arms, they definately ripped off the Giants.

Lets say the Sox want to make a deal after the deadline. If the player clears waivers, the trade would be just like a normal trade. If another team wants to claim the player or wants to interfere with the trade, the Sox can either pull back the player or let him go to the other team. Its a big risk for the other team though because if the Sox choose to let the player go, they will be stuck with that guys entire contract. Hope that was clear enough.

A steal for Baltimore. Thats way too much to give up for a 3rd/4th starter who might be a fluke, and exactly why I didnt want the Sox to go after him.
