A's at White Sox 7/9 Gameday Thread
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) Is that supposed to be a sarcastic comment, making fun of those who use the record statistic as their support for any argument? I just know we have yet to beat a tough pitcher this entire season, and if this team has any hope of a postseason run, they're going to have to become better protect hitters. Of course it was sarcastic. Our hitters don't have a clue what to do with two strikes on them. They rather strike out than looking than fighting something off foul and hoping the pitcher makes a mistake. We only have a couple guys that fight off tough pitches... the others just wave as it goes by and strike out.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) Our hitters do an awful job at protecting with two strikes. Even if the pitch is a little inside/outside, you have to foul off tough pitches in order to keep the AB alive. You can't rely on the umpire to bail you out on close pitches all the time. Hey, we are thirty games over .500 no?

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) To be honest it would surprise me. His numbers may suggest it but his body type does not imo. There is a player or two on the sox I would suspect but not him. If a guy with six career homers takes them anyonecould be on them

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) Are the Sox really hitting .205 vs RHP this season? I know we struggle against RHP, but that number is extremely low. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) If that's true, then it's amazing we have the record we do. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) That number can't be true. More like .247.

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) This game is looking like another gift given to the A's by the Sox. God damn, I hate these pathetic efforts. Another game where we're held in check by a mediocre RHP that can occasionaly throw an offspeed and/or breaking pitch. We need another lefty bat more than a pitcher. His name is ross gload. Timo perez sucks so f***ing bad.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) I think he meant that JG is out of the game, which he is, and we didn't score any more runs for him, so he can't get the win. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) He's thrown 110 pitches already...he won't be out for this inning...hence he wont' be getting the win. Aka... chwrock2 stfu.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) Hey, DJ just in a roundabout way mentioned Ozzie's use of the Sunday line-up. He said ozzie only does that after we win the first two games of a series. What a f***ing moron. He is apparently blind and retarded.

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) maybe he will get lucky and get on the same plane as chris paul where both could talk about how their careers ended so early Willie harris will play in the major leagues for a long time.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) Scutaro doubles to leadoff the inning. Kendall will move him over with a grounder to second. Chavez will fly out to right and that will be a run.
