    Prom Night

Dougly could have at least lied a little better.
  3. That fatass kid from bad santa is in it. They also have a black kid and girl in it now. That movie is gonna be so awful.
  4. QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ May 1, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) You think would cut Higg even though he's making that much??? I don't think so..They still got to pay him and I don't think they would just cut a guy making that much..the Yankees would, but the Tigers? It was big news coming out of detroit that they were gonna cut him. They decided not to once ordonez got injured.
  5. QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ May 1, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) Wait, isn't James Earl Jones in the movie? I saw him in the commercial playing the same character..Does it still take place in the 60's? It's more so a remake than anything.
  6. If ordonez did not get injured they would have just cut higginson out right. Because players in the minors can do what that fool is doing for a fraction of the cost.
  7. When lopez gets a hit off of you it is definitely time for you to leave the game.
  8. Widger moves into third... 2-2 count on lopez.
  9. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 1, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) is that dushku? Yes.
  10. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ May 1, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) I think Jon Garland is making a statement this year. Maybe he is our Cy Young candidate? Let's see what he is doing at the all-star break.
  11. White flies out to rowand inning over. Sox lead 2-0.
  12. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 1, 2005 -> 04:16 AM) Do you want them to pitch s***ty because it's what you expect? I don't get it. And Paulie and Dye can't play this bad forever. They're gonna have to snap out of it more sooner than later. I'm not saying any of this is probable, but I'd rather have a good feeling about this year and enjoy the ride than have a "realistic" view about the team I go for and think they're going to break down soon. I get that feeling that we're gonna lose just about every game too, but there's always that thought in the back of my mind that we're gonna win. To me, that's what makes me know I'm a fan. We can be pessimistic, but deep down you have to be expecting them to do some unexpected s***. I never said i want them to pitch badly because it is what i expect. I wish they could maintain this. I love watching a good pitched game. But you said you think it is probable that they will maintain what they are doing now ( 3.13 era). That is with four of them pitching far better than their career numbers. Will one or two of them break out for us? Maybe, can only hope so. Will all four? No chance in hell. Once more i am being realistic, no way i can see them pitch like this all year. I don't know what it is but i just have a hunch four of our five starters will not have an era under three. This may just be me thinking this though. I feel like the sox can win every game. But i can tell when there is a mismatch for us in a certain game. When i point that out does that make me any less of a fan? I sure hope not. I am enjoying what the sox have done thus far. But i can't expect for the pitching to get worse? What f i think the offense needs to get better? If i do does it make me less of a fan either? I am probally a bad fan for not thinking konerko is worth what he makes or that willie harris is not a bad player, alonggwith me liking politte and gload. I also don't think rowand is a great fielder along with podsednik, damnit, bad fan again. I think timo is awful too and i believe cotts needs grooming in triple a. I am not a pessimistic fan. I just tell it like it is even if it's not liked by the vast majority.
  13. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 1, 2005 -> 04:26 AM) Is it cool if I like Paulie and want to keep him, provided he picks it up this year, at a reasonable price? I really can't tell by some of these posts. Durazo looks great playing 1st base, by the way... (I do like Erubiel though.) Sure, but if he wants any where near what sexson got he can let the door hit his ass on the way out. If he ends up repeating last year you can be sure some team will be willing to offer him that much. He is too one dimensional to make ten million a year and too streaky to bat fourth for us. Ideally don't you want your three and four hitters to be extremely consistent? That is what i see around all of baseball anyway except for the really s***ty teams.
  14. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 1, 2005 -> 04:08 AM) Ever heard of exceeding expectations? Yes. Everyone having career years at once? No.
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 1, 2005 -> 03:53 AM) You know the Yankees are definitely going to make an offer most likely. If Konerko does leave, who's going to replace Konerko though? A guy that could be possibly interesting is J.T Snow, who definitely doesn't hit for much power, but hits for a real good average and is an excellent defender. Could be a good stopgap for a year or 2 before a guy like Casey Rogowski or even Josh Fields (if they decide to move him to 1st) is ready. Well i don't know about you but two years down the road i think the first baseman free agents are much better than this year. Only the players i have in bold interest me for nest year. If we signed say durazo then we would not have to look into a first baseman two years down the road. If we signed millar or someone else as a one year stop gate and platooned gload with them then we would be in business for two years down the road. 2005-2006. 2006-2007.
  16. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 1, 2005 -> 03:22 AM) KONG especially. It seems like it's always feast of famine with him. This is a contract year for him so maybe it'd help his cause if he'd start playing like it. Anyone else notice him taking a first pitch fast ball right down the middle of the plate nearly every time up now? Then he swings at the s***ty pitches and either k's or pops it up. When you are going bad you are going bad. He really needs to get his s*** together along with dye. I still think it would be a bad idea to bring him back next year for any significant amount of money but we will see.
  17. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 1, 2005 -> 03:36 AM) Realistic...maybe. But I happen to think that the offense CAN score when necessary, as they've proved in their wins. And there's no way to be "positive" that the pitching will regress. It's probable, but I happen to think that it doesn't have to. The games are played because even though everybody thinks they know what's going to happen based on what's most probable, the unexpected can be a beautiful thing. Every single pitcher in our rotation out side of buehrle is pitching way above their heads. How many pitchers do you know that has a whip of 1.63 with and era of .270 ( hernandez)? You think contreras is gonna maintain a era in the low 3's? Possible because he does have the stuff. But he is not all there in the head when it comes to pitching. If garland keeps up what he is doing, well era under 3.50 i will gladly eat crow. Garcia is more like high three era pitcher up into the low fours. Buehrle is well buehrle. I will stick to what i said about being positive we will not maintain a 3.13 era throughout the year. The main cogs in our line-up have been pretty brutal this year. Konerko has seven homeruns and then not much else. Dye has been awful along with horrible decisions in the field. Our outfield as a whole has been making way too many mental mistakes. We need both konerko and dye to get it going along with a healthy team sooner rather than later. Trust me, i am as happy as anyone is right now.
  18. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 1, 2005 -> 03:24 AM) You can think whtever the hell you want to think. We have the best god damn record in th American League and you, among others, are b****ing like we are the f***ing Devil Rays. Was i happy when the sox were winning? Hell yes. Did i think there was stuff we could improve on? Of course, every team can improve on something. Do i question guillen a lot? Sure, nearly every one does because of all his questionable decisions. Like timo ever batting fifth and how he f***s with the bullpen. It may not have hurt us much yet but i don't think it is out of the realm of possibilty of doing so if he keeps it up. I just say what i think could need improvement to help us in the long run. I don't think that implies i think we are the devil rays.
  19. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 05:49 PM) NUKE, I was agreeing with you. I was sick of hearing the "experts" and some posters here whine about our team OBP and our ability to draw walks while we were on an 8 game win streak. "Don't tell me what you hit, tell when you hit." The more walks we draw the better off we will be in the long run. We cannot rely on rallying two or three hits together to scratch out a run maybe two. If that is what we are gonna be doing this season look for a long ass year. It's not because we walked alot we suddenly are gonna lose. Problem is no one has been able to get a timely hit or move over a runner the last four days. Outside of seventh inning in the second game of the tigers series.
  20. Well i think our offense is gonna be pretty weak even at it's peak and i am positive the pitching will regress. Can i be considered a sox fan even though i am being realistic? The game thread was pretty depressing until the sox took the lead. I was thinking another day of people being all b****y.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ May 1, 2005 -> 12:31 AM) My question is, what is the breaking point (how many kids) do you have before you cant think of any better name than one you already used?!?! George foreman never learned.
  22. Got a couple more of her. I believe there are eleven in total from the movie.
