  1. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) Carlos Lee is the anti-clutch. Wouldn't go that far at all.
  2. I was gonna make a thread about this last night but i forgot to. Anyway, i have just been going old school and using ''last click''.
  3. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 03:16 PM) But, that was Lee all last year hit the Bomb when we really didn't need him to. Would have been better if he struck out right?
  4. Well two run homerun for lee. 8-2 sox with two outs in the bottom of the third.
  5. Two run homerun for uribe opposite field. 5-0 sox.
  6. QUOTE(T R U @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) Well yeah, what guy would prefer a avatar of a guy over an avatar of a hott girl? Well besides qwerty
  7. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 01:19 PM) Doesn't Graves make something like five or six million? Politte at 3 million (or so) is >>>> than Graves at five-six million. Graves=6.25 and politte at one million.
  8. How many homeruns would oh have had in the mlb? http://baseballguru.com/jalbright/analysisjalbright08.html Jim albright, who by the way is probally one of the most knowledgeable people when it comes to japenese baseball ranks him as the best player in japans history. http://baseballguru.com/jalbright/analysisjalbright03.html http://baseballguru.com/jalbright/analysisjalbright01.html
  9. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) Ok, I only read the 1st half of the thread and my head started spinning. So he's gonna be back on or near opening day? Jabroni already posted this but...
  10. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) It is a little late, but still worthy. Wily Mo Pena, 2004(24 years old) - .259 26 HR 66 RBI 5 SB .316 OBP, 527 SLG, .843 OPS, 22 BB, 108 K in 110 games, 358 PA's Sammy Sosa, 1993(24 years old) - .261 33 HR 93 RBI 36 SB, .309 OBP, .485 SLG, .794 OPS, 38 BB, 135 K in 159 games, 636 PA's Surprise, surprise, I have seen him compared to Samme before. And you wonder why any team wouldn't want him. No guarauntee he starts up with the steroids though. I really do like pena's potential though
  11. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) Just to clear it up further.... Garland is in his second arb year this year. Next year would be his third and final before becoming a FA. Oh and the Roundball Classic = Stinker... I went to a McDonalds all American game, and that would have sucked too if it wasn't 1) free and 2) the highest scoring game in history. I thought he may be in his second year but i was to lazy to make sure so i just said one. What is the cut off for pitchers to ( amount of time up or games pitched?) until it goes toward a year of a teams six years of rights?
  12. Walker has to be a stud from here on out to even have a shot at making the major league team in my opinion. If not he will be spending the entire year in the minors because i cannot see them brining him up mid way through the season because he will earn $525,000.
  13. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) And one more thing -- isn't Garland arbitration eligible for next season? I think Garland is worth right around four-five million if he's able to pitch around 200 innings, and keep his ERA from 4.50-4.80. But then again, the market this offseason got a bunch of pitchers who are about as good as Garland a lot of money, so I dunno... He was eligible this year so next year would be his second year of arbitration i believe.
  14. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) Personally I'd like Bobby Simmons because I think he'd be a good fit. However, I want the Bulls to get another low post player. Chances are that is not happening until davis is gone. I can see the bulls putting big time money into a big time player then. I know you were down on harrington for his one bad game but i would really like him brought back next year.
  15. This is not really that big of a loss for the cubs in my opinion. I mean hell boroski was already throwing several miles less than his normal. Anyone really think he would have still put up those numbers pitching in the mid to high 80's?
  16. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 06:11 PM) JimH said that they were looking at Borchard for some reason. I was just continuing that trend. I still want to know why everyone wants a strikeout master like Willy Mo Pena, especially considering his minor league numbers sucked. He just turned 23 and is raw as hell. He would be nice to get but not at the expense of garland. Lot's of places predict for pena to really bust out this year.
  17. Well, out of that list i have interest in simmons, brown, daniels jaric, raja (he is the highest on my list for the money).
  18. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 03:15 AM) Good thread... Crawford is the better scorer, but Hinrich is obviously the better player overall. I want to see Eddy succeed here as much as anyone, but he doesn't deserve a big contract. I just don't want to see him go until we have a SOLID replacement for him (and no, nobody will trade the NUMBER ONE pick for him). I'd like to see us go after Joe Johnson (for the right price) or Bobby Simmons (DEPAUL ). Curry for Simmons and Wilcox would have been awesome when it was being rumored. It would be nice to pick up a GOOD player over the offseason, but I already get the feeling we won't do s***... Kwame Brown sucks. Eddy is more valuable, by far... Joe johnson will cost a s*** load more than the mle which is all we have to spend. I am gonna borrow a post from another thread because for the most part i agree with him and would like to see way what you guys think.
  19. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 02:30 AM) Very few people turn down the bigger money, no matter what profession... And yes, there are exceptions to that. It not like one team will offer him 100 dollars and another team 10 million. All the offers for him will be similar.
