  1. Heath catches everything close to him and runs great routes. He's not blessed with Shockey, Winslow, Gates type TE speed, but he makes up for it with his hands, route running, and blocking ability.
  2. Pittsburgh's OL has been struggling. But, remember both Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are out for Baltimore. But whenever Pitt and Baltimore play, its usually close, no matter what kind of year they are having. I think 11 points is pretty safe. Anthony Wright has a strong arm and will cause the Steeler's cornerback's some problems, they still get beat on some deep routes more than your average cornerback.
  3. I've also definitely heard much better reviews about 2K6 than Live. I would suggest 2K6 also, its a fun game. I'll even give a secret out. Instead of signing your young players to max deals, let them go to free agency, advance on the calendar to just before preseason games start, and check the free agency again, most of the time they will be left looking for just 5 mill a year. You can sign them for 5 years at 5 mill a year instead of 12-14 mill a year for 5 years. You can even sign an extra player if you don't have salary cap left for the 5 million dollar exception.
  4. NBA2k6 is a very good game in my opinion. I haven't been a big fan of the games of the past because drafting people really sucked. But this year its really improved. Now you can scout the guys, and even play as them in practices or have them go 1 on 1, 2 on 2, or 5 on 5 against players on your team. I'm enjoying it alot.
  5. Vince Young is absurd. Combined for over 500 yards and 4 TD's, with 267 yards rushing. Yes thats not a misprint, 267 yards rushing from a QB to rally Texas for a blowout win after being down 28-12 at the half.
  6. I've liked hockey for a while. Became a Flyers fan when Lindros was big there. Yeah yeah, I know he's a big puss. I still enjoy watching the Flyers play. Forsberg was an amazing addition, but my favorite is still Joni Pitkanen. Even with the year off, I'm suprised I know all the players except Jon Sim. Have to admit I've never even heard of him.
  7. Ok, I'm calming down. Still 18 yards in the 2nd half, thats scary.
  8. Yeah Rex, those retro uni's are terrible in my opinion. Nice start so far...
  9. Not sure if this is old news... http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/news;_ylt=Al...ov=ap&type=lgns
  10. Speaking of Duke. As coach K always says, its all about relationships...
  11. Even though I'm not a tennis fan, I would have to say Federer should be much higher. He's dominant in his sport, and its not changing for a long time. Also, Jeanette Lee shouldn't be on the list. She was stuck at 2,3 in the world for a long time before finally breaking into the #1 spot. Also, I don't think Bush deserves the list either. Sure he's great on the college level, but he's not dominating the pro's yet. I would put Annika Sorenstam on the list over Lee and Johan Santana on the list over Bush.
  12. I'm still wondering what Fisher Deberry is getting punished for. There is absolutely nothing wrong with his remarks, they weren't derogatory in any manner, and its hard to argue with him. He just spoke the apparent truth to a sensitive society, or should I say media.
  13. Yeah Rex it was the annual intra-squad scrimmage. It concluded the Fall workouts for the team. They don't play until February 17, so its a pretty strange game every year. As for Lendale White, I put him on a notch below, somewhere around mid-1st talent, but a very good power back in his own right.
  14. Depends who gets the 1st pick. If the team needs a QB, Vince will be the man. If a team needs a RB, then Reggie Bush will be the man. Either way the top two teams are getting future elite NFL players. Here's how I see the top 5 picks currently, given its WAY early. Houston: Vince Young, Carr will be bought out. San Fransisco: Reggie Bush Green Bay: D'Brickshaw Ferguson New Orleans: Mathias Kiwanuka Tennessee: Matt Leinart

  16. I think the gap is too wide at the moment. They are still 45 votes behind in both the AP and the ESPN poll. However, there is hope for Longhorn fans as USC the final 3 weeks of the season plays currently ranked teams, two of those being rivalry games. While Texas' toughest game isn't until the final game against A&M. All I know is nobody can stop either Bush or Vince Young. Both of those guys are ridiculous. Vince can throw the ball much better than last year, I was shocked. He has a gun for an arm, and is finally pretty accurate. He's had arguably his best two days in his career throwing the past 2 weeks.
  17. Normally it takes 2-3 years after the event like Illinois had last year for the recruiting edge to kick in. Players 13-14-15 etc became fans of the Illini last year and it should pay off in future classes, most likely the 07 class, which is loaded. On Insiders, the Illini have interest from 20 4 star players or above in the 07 class. I don't think there's any denying though that Weber could stand to improve on his recruiting. He's got a great year to build off of, and has the Illini in the national spotlight, he now just have to find a great recruiter that he can put on staff, like Roy Williams has with Steve Robinson, or Coach K has with Johnny Dawkins, or like Rick Barnes has with Benjamin Franklins ;-)
  18. This is from the rules. 3. Excluded Items The following is a list of items that players are not allowed to wear while on team or league business: • Sleeveless shirts. • Shorts. • T-shirts, jerseys, or sports apparel (unless appropriate for the event (e.g., a basketball clinic), team-identified, and approved by the team). • Headgear of any kind while a player is sitting on the bench or in the stands at a game, during media interviews, or during a team or league event or appearance (unless appropriate for the event or appearance, team-identified, and approved by the team). I think they will definitely make a few changes on the lenient side.
  19. The hat part is over the line, especially the hat Shaq is wearing, I love fedora's etc. But hearing NBA players complain about a dress code is hilarious. Most businesses out there make their employees dress atleast business casual.
  20. I have a feeling it wasn't really about what Self did for Sherron, but instead how Self convinced Sherron's "handlers" that Kansas all along was the better place. Its really unfortunate, but some players end up with handlers or guardians or even parents that truly don't have their best interests at heart. Not that I know for sure this was the case. Self somehow recruited Sherron to KU with Mario Chalmers as only a freshmen this year. Both guards are in the exact same mold. Both are scoring PG's, Russell Robinson is somewhat in the same mold as only a sophomore also.

    Pick One

Ha, now we now you are lying. Then again, now days that doesn't have to be a mutually exclusive statement.
  22. Ouch, I just heard Sherron Collins chose Kansas over Illinois. Thats a tough loss.
  23. Maddox was 11-28 with a TD and 3 interceptions. He also fumbled an easy snap on the Jaguars 30 yard line just trying to set up for a game winning field goal in OT. Then when the Steelers got the ball back, he immediately throws a pass right to the Jaguars who had an easy run back to win the game in OT. He singlehandedly lost the game for the Steelers. The Bears have had some bad QB'ing, but this was below even a Cade McKnown type effort.
  24. To help cheer me up from the Steelers loss a little, the Tar Heels finished off one of the all-time great recruiting classes. http://northcarolina.scout.com/2/453159.html Not like anyone else cares :-P
