The Dolphins are on the clock
Palehosefan replied to knightni's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Don't forget Rodgers still has a workout left I believe to impress the scouts and from past workouts, he can make all the throws. I wouldn't be suprised to see him earn a great mark in the workout also. -
Forte is playing in the NBDL, he had an attitude problem and couldn't stick with the Supersonic's. But he has learned the error of his ways so to speak and he's working on his attitude along with his game to make it back to the league. He will always have a problem with what position he will play, he plays like a SG, but is 6'3 200 pounds at max, he does have lot of skill though, I'm hoping for the best. I will admit though that he's never been one of my favorites, right there with Maktar Ndiaye.

Yeesh, I live in Tejas and I had no clue what a pole cat is. I still have no idea how a pole cat is a skunk, then again I call pretty much all soft drinks "coke" so what do I know?
-
Well my 1st day picks have all gone to hell, yipee.

Some scouts said Alex Smith's workout was the best they have seen since Troy Aikman's, it was in front of 100+ scouts and they gave him a standing ovation at the end of it.

I just checked the post again and they edited it, yes they play tonight, they were saying Scheyer scored 48 points in the game leading up to this one, Frasor got 24. "Tonight (Tuesday), Bobby Frasor netted 24 points en route to an IHSA super-sectional victory. Brother Rice will face Glenbrook North Friday night at 6:30 P.M. CST in the state quarterfinals. As you may know, Glenbrook North features 2006 SG Jon Scheyer. For the record, Scheyer had a nice night himself... if you consider 48 points to be a nice night! Sorry folks! Coach K the motivational speaker?
Palehosefan replied to Palehosefan's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
lol you don't like it? Maybe you will like this one better. http://www.sportspickle.com/features/volum...309-redick.html -
Yep GT is very solid defensively. McHenry can lock down much bigger guys in the post, Jack is solid guarding the PG, and Schenser is a very solid post defender, doesn't try to do too much.

Another question is, how in the world do you get 8!!! recruits in a class? http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=78&p=9&cfg=bb...teProvinceId=-1

I forgot one, "Say hello to my little friend. " Scarface.

I've got Bama getting by Wis-Mil AND BC, but falling to Illinois.

As expected, Redick was named ACC POY today. The "greatest shooter of all time" doubled up Sean May's 1st place votes 68-34. Lets take a look at the numbers. Redick, 1st in scoring, 1st in minutes by over 3 a game to 2nd highest player, 1st in FT%, 5th in 3PT%. May, 6th in scoring, 2nd in rebounding, 11th in blocked shots, 11th in FT%, 4th in FG%, and played 11 minutes a game less than Redick. JJ adds shooting, average defense, and what else on the 3rd place team? May adds a double double, blocked shots, more steals a game than Redick, and the highest EPI in ACC history on the 1st place team. Here is what EPI is. "This week's ACC sports Journal has its annual Efficient Production Index rating for ACC players/ACC games. Players get 1 point for every steal, blocked shot and rebound and 2 points for every point scored. Each assist counts 1.7 EPI points. Points are subtracted for each turnover and missed shot. Fouls are multiplied b .7 and subtracted and missed fts are multiplied by 1.5 and subtracted. The total is then divided by minutes played. Past winners: Todd Fuller NCSU 1996 Tim Duncan WFU 1997 Antawn Jamison 1998 Elton Brand 1999 Darius Songalia 2000 Joe Forte 2001 Carlos Boozer 2002 Josh Howard 2003 Rashad McCants 200" Here are the highest in history. May 1.430 Jamison 1.417 Forte 1.387 Boozer 1.364 Brand 1.351

I'm hoping so also. I can't imagine turning down Illinois after such a great season with your coach being the brother of Illinois' coach. Its still a LOOONG way till 06 signing periods start.

From Shrek 2, Gingerbread man in the high pitched voice. "Pinocchio's wearing a thooong."

Well Butter here is something that will make you happy I'm sure. Rumor is that Jon Scheyer a 2006 SG is very close to commiting to Duke. He scored 48 points last night when his team lost to UNC commit Bobby Frasor. http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=78&p=8&c=1&nid=1104011 He plays for Bruce Weber's brother, Dave.

lol yeah I probably did curse it. I should have just kept my mouth shut. Either Julius Hodge is knocked out of the tourney, or I'm right. Either way I win
-
lol yeah I'm gonna be watching tonight. I hope they both look like crap, otherwise I'm gonna be nervous about the 1st #1 upset in history with the way we have been playing lately. I know that sounds ridiculous, but there's always a Harold Arceneaux waiting to demolish UNC in the tourney. He was the one that led Weber State past the Heels a few years ago in the 1st round.
-
Evtimov I believe has been shooting very well lately also. I just haven't really been impressed at all with Charlotte, aren't Cincinatti and Indiana the only good teams that Charlotte beat this year? I could be wrong because I haven't checked, but overall I'm not impressed. State will get demolished by UConn anyways in the 2nd round.

There's alot of parity in the brackets. The Albuquerque region actually has 4 of the top 12 teams in the nation in the final polls and a very hot Georgia Tech team. I see Louisville, GT, and WF all doing well and WF defeating GT in their brackets finals to advance to the final 4.

He's only back on the UNC bandwagon because how much hell we give him for his Duke bias. Although it wasn't much better when he was obsessed with Dean Smith calling him "Michaelangelo". Vitale is the ultimate bandwagoner, and he's latched on tight to K's ass. I don't have a big problem with his picks, he just picked 3 #1 seeds and a 2 seed, I can see all of them making it, I just don't agree with Duke over Syracuse. By the way, I can't stand his color commentary anymore. He used to be informative with recruits etc, now he's just BABY this and PTP'er that, doesn't add a thing to the games. He does however wear out alot of mute buttons.

I am having the same problem Rex. But its just gonna cut down on my posting, which will be a good thing for some I guess :-). I also realize if it was all combined into one thread it would get 2-3 new pages before I would get a chance to read it.
-
Here is a nice article on Rashad McCants. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...=jackson/050314 By the way, does anyone NOT have NC State beating Charlotte? Thats almost a no brainer to me, I'm just wondering if others see it different.

Mine would have to be Ferris Bueller's day off. That show is great no matter how many times I see it.

*Official* College Basketball Thread
Palehosefan replied to Heads22's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Gillen out at UVA, and now Buzz Peterson looks like he's gone at Tennessee. http://tennessean.com/sports/ut/archives/0...ent_ID=66901798 They are apparently under the impression they are an elite mens basketball program with the way they have handled their past few coaches.
