  1. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player....layer_id=433278 Looks like he just turned 25 and his first MLB start was against the Yankees, Cotts like. Could be a solid pick-up as it looks like he just froze and lost control to get shelled with 4 walks.
  2. lol Antawn wouldn't fill a SF role. He is a tweener, he can score with the best of them though. He needs to play on a team with a center that is a defensive stopper, becuase he has trouble with big PF's.
  3. Also remember a few things, the Clippers would be happy to deal with Chicago after the Brand/Chandler trade. They also already have 2 dookies on the team in Elton Brand, and Corey Maggette, and wouldn't hesitate to take Deng with the 3rd pick while gaining something from the Bulls. If the Magic REALLY want to go in full rebuilding mode, they can trade TMac to the Bulls for the 3rd pick, Tyson Chandler, and a filler.
  4. Thats whats fun about being a fan. You can choose who to like, who to not like, for whatever reasons you like. I like aboz's reasons for liking, and not liking players personally. I usually get caught up in hating a player because he's not performing, but if I knew any personally it would give me a better view of liking someone or not.
  5. I think the Magic would do that deal actually. I just don't think the Bulls should do it, just draft Deng and have a solid core.
  6. It wouldn't be too hard for the Bulls to trade up one pick and get either Okafor or Dwight Howard. I know The Clippers would be interested in Deng and Livingston. But Deng would be a great choice for the Bulls also, their best SF since Pippen, very well could be on his level.
  7. I wouldn't be too sad, Deng will be a great pick.
  8. She was on UConn's winning title teams the past few years. Some think she will be the best player ever in the WNBA, whatever that accounts for lol.
  9. This is what BA says about him, personally I don't know if we need another lefty, but again we have room to draft on luxury. "After three years, Sowers and the draft meet again, and he's ready to sign this time. The Reds picked Sowers 20th overall in 2001 out of Louisville's Ballard High but made little attempt to sign him, and he honored his Vanderbilt commitment. Sowers has been the Commodores' No. 1 starter for three seasons, and Southeastern Conference teams have tried to attack him by swinging early in the count. It's the best approach against this slender, efficient strike-throwing machine. Sowers pounds the zone with four pitches: an accurate, active fastball he throws anywhere from 85-91 mph, a solid-average slider and curveball, and a changeup with good movement that he uses sparingly. His consistency and makeup impress scouts nearly as much as his stuff and command. Sowers' twin brother Josh pitches at Yale with similar pitches and command from the right side."
  10. The story of Dwight Howard wanting to change the NBA log is WAAYYYYYYY overblown. What really happened is the reporters noticed crosses in his room and asked him if he thought the NBA should incorporate religion more in the basketball. He of course said yes, and they found a drawing of the NBA logo with a cross on it in his room. Dwight is a smart kid, 3.8 gpa with a 1300 SAT. He just has strong beliefs, its a great thing to see. He's not trying to push it on anyone I can promise you that. With that said, Okafor is a great kid also, and doesn't have injury problems really, just a sore back for a while. He played through most of it, and can be a Ben Wallace type player, with better post moves and slightly less intensity. Howard is similar to a young KG, you can't go wrong with either one. The Bulls couldn't go wrong with Luol Deng either, he's as ready for the NBA as anyone in the draft, as much as that pains me to say as a UNC fan.
  11. This really sends a great message to other teams out there. Go ahead and cheat, heck the SEC has been doing it for years.
  12. I have never had a problem with Lee's hustle. The balls that he does get to, he makes the play everytime. He doesn't have great speed or a great throwing arm, but he's no longer a liability in LF.
  13. I'm almost positive Jon Rauch never touched 95 on any radar. His tops even when he was tearing it up before the injury at A was 93. I watched him ever since he started dominating for the Bees I believe it was. As big as he is, he never has been a power pitcher, just had superior control at that size.
  14. Dang, just saw her pic's, I'll take either one also.
  15. Shoot, teach Laurie Dhue about sports and put her on, I promise I will never miss a show.
  16. I think Joe could be an average CF defensively. He doesn't have a whole bunch of range, but he has a nice arm and goes all out usually. Scouts always said he would be better off in RF.
  17. I sent mine in a few years ago and they fixed that problem for free. I tried cleaning the laser and discs first, but then I just gave up and called. I had to call first to get the problem fixed for free, they asked me some questions then I had to write something on the box about it being free.
  18. Usually players with the best arms are lower in the assist category because they don't get challenged anymore. Magglio's arm is definitely good enough for RF, just nothing special.
  19. I'm not saying get rid of half price nights, its great for once a once a week thing etc. I just want a more family atmosphere at the games also. I don't have a family either and I understand your point, I just want the best of both worlds there, and I know thats hard to do.
  20. Thats a problem we have, we don't have great arms in the outfield. As much as some might grimace over it, even Magglio's arm isn't spectacular.
  21. Great thread, its something I have been thinking about also. We really have a choice as a franchise, are we desperate enough for money that they continue to let in anyone? Or should they raise ticket prices or focus more on family discounts like you say. I say the last one, even if it hurts attendence for a while, I'm sick of the Sox reputation in the media and other fanbases. I have to delete so many trolls on another Sox message board dealing with crap about whitetrash Sox fans etc, it just gets old.
  22. I think Cliff would be fine if he was used properly. Put him in for 2/3 to 1 inning at most, don't give him time to get wild.
  23. lol but you get shot there just looking at somebody wrong, right?
  24. I dunno, now you have me confused. I don't know how this is odd "Bobby Bonds K record would be in serious jeopardy. So would Keith Olberman's mom if she was ever in attendance here." I'm saying they would both be in serious jeopardy, anyways moving along.
