  1. I understand what you are saying Jason. What could happen is Fox Sports Net could make a tv show for each team with like 2 scouts or a scout and an announcer following the picks and they could focus on that teams picks and show video's or let the scout talk about the players, while having a continous ticker on the bottom showing players that have been drafted, like they do with the NFL draft.
  2. As for the JC rules, this from BA.. "A club generally retains the rights to sign a junior college player until one week prior to the next draft, or until the player enters a four-year college. A selected player who enters a junior college cannot be signed until the conclusion of the school's baseball season."
  3. http://www.waterloobucks.com/everly-eric.html Best I could find on Johnson, second one down. http://www.crowder.edu/athletics/baseball/...shtml#b_johnson
  4. Good stuff Jason, however, I think only Syzmanski, Purcey, and Fields will be available with our pick. I would be thrilled with any of the above. 2 catchers that I hope we give a serious look later on are Jason Jaramillo of OSU and Chris Ianetta at UNC. This is from BA about Jaramillo "Jaramillo is solid in all phases in the game, which is why he'll likely go in the second round as the first college catcher. He combats the running game with solid arm strength, a quick release and an accurate arm. " This is about Ianetta "Iannetta has a short, compact stroke and a mature approach to hitting, leading to consistent, hard contact. His other tools are unspectacular, but he's an average receiver and has an average arm that might play up a bit because of his quick release. " I don't know where they get average arm and average receiver for Iannetta, considering he threw out 24 of 26 runners this year. He's gonna be a solid one.
  5. Didn't read the article posted above, but from my experience listening to the last 3-4 drafts, it goes way too fast for people to comment on players. They would be talking about one player and miss about 20. But if they slow it down it could work, but that would make it take forever.
  6. That would be an awesome 1-2 with Zach Grienke and Gavin Floyd. I really hope they don't make that deal.
  7. lol thats seriously not photoshopped or anything? Thats crazy, he looks like he should be pitching in the LLWS.
  8. Its gotta be from the quintuplets they had in 2001. That has to be fun...
  9. lol ouch.. with the way I play golf, its usually a nice combination of a hike, a marathon, and a not so fun game of hide and seek. I hit the ball, its either lost, or up somewhere that I can't hit it. So I hit again, and its back on the opposite side of the fairway. I once hit a tree and the ball went 100 yards behind me, I just gave up.
  10. Vinny just never gives up, thats pretty cool. I saw him when he was with the Durham Bulls 3 or so years ago, he hit a homer, and I thought that was his last prominence.
  11. I dunno, maybe it was just for me. But, it kept giving me an error that you guys were having problems with the database. But anyways, its all better now.
  12. I understand what you guys are saying. I'm really not one in the hating Reinsdorf club. My post was supposed to be more for praising Cuban, than bashing Reinsdorf.
  13. I wasn't speaking specifically on giving money. I know Jerry does well with that, he even does decent spending money on salaries, as hard as it is for most to admit. I'm talking about getting closer to the fans, being around and listening to fans.
  14. It seems like its doing ok now. I searched through all the forums, and Pale Hose Talk was the one that was broken. But now it seems like its fixed. Reminded me too much of school having to see SQL again lol.
  15. Any team would be blessed to have an owner like Cuban. He turned a franchise that was the pits, into a place where everyone wants to play. He has LCD screens with DVD players in EVERY locker. He treats the players to a life of luxury, and he treats them with respect. The best part is, he does the same for the fans of Dallas also. He responds to emails, he sits in the crowd every game, he gives out free chalupas to everyone when the Mavericks hit the 100 point mark. He worked at Dairy Queen for a day and served over 400 people for a charity. We could only be so lucky to have an owner that cared half as much as he does.
  16. But its better than the .202 OBP of the past
  17. The Bulls are gonna be fine either way, they will either get Deng or Howard, or make a good trade that will help them. The Magic need a post presence to play alongside offensive minded players like Juwon Howard and Gooden. But, even with Okafor, thats gonna be a small small frontcourt. None of them will be over 6'9. That would be a funny lineup with 6'9 McGrady at SG, 6'9 Gooden at SF, 6'9 Howard at PF, and 6'9 Okafor at C. Too bad Magic Johnson can't comeback to fulfill the all 6'9 lineup.
  18. lol its fine, I completely understand. I have a hatred for the NBA taking away all the top prospects, it makes following recruiting no fun at all. You watch a guy for 1-2 years knowing he's gonna play for your team, then BAM the NBA comes in and robs him away.
  19. Here's too a huge game on his b-day.
  20. Why on earth would he not succeed? He is 18, has skills similar to Kevin Garnett at the same age, and has a great work ethic, he's a very smart kid with a 3.8 gpa and 1300 SAT score. I think he will be just fine.
  21. Gotta be my fault, whenever I'm in there, I'm usually by myself.
  22. That complete no name is about to be a rich rich 18 year old. He's got his head on straight, thats for sure.
  23. That would be awesome if he could improve his hitting, we can always use an Omar Vizquel type :-).
  24. I agree the Bulls would have to give up more than that to get TMac, I was just saying it could happen still for the Bulls. It would be pointless to give up both Curry and Chandler though, they wouldn't have any future inside. Houston and Phoenix would both be crazy to deal that much. Joe Johnson is a very solid young player, and the Matrix is a very good SF in his own right. Cuttino and Franchise are the Houston offense, Francis, Nachbar, and a 1st, I could see happening.
  25. Holy Crap!! Every year he's barely hitting .200 and always gets moved up regardless. That would be awesome if he finally hit. Next up, Guillermo Reyes :-).
