  1. I will pay to see a Duke player or two get knocked out in this chippy play.
  2. Nice run to end the half, if it's an even called 2nd half you guys have a nice shot. Good luck getting the calls.
  3. Just in case anyone didn't know, this Duke team has the most Mickey D's in history on one team. Going to be fun to watch that amount of supposed talent fail.
  4. SC State-UNC game is probably going to have a retarded ending. SC State has 17 fouls already with 4 minutes to go in the 1st half and UNC already has 53 points. Now 20 fouls with 2 minutes left. Ridiculous.
  5. Which is exactly why Mario Manningham will win the Biletnikoff award over Michael Crabtree. Crabtree was the first freshmen in the awards 14 year history to be a finalist. Jordy Nelson of KSU is the other finalist.
  6. Especially with the UNC game not being on TV or the Internet anywhere. Grr.
  7. Does it get better than losing to the horrendous 1-8 Jets? I don't think so. Mike Tomlin certainly doesn't have a cajones of his predacessors.
  8. Beasley is actually averaging 30 points and 20 rebounds in his first 3 games.
  9. In PHF only cares news, UNC is close to re-signing Butch Davis long term. He will be making about 3M a year with incentives, and John Blake is getting a 25% pay increase which he more than deserves. Arkansas was really after him. Butch is from Arkansas and is best friends with the billionare Waltons, Tyson, and a few other millionares. Butch has something special going on at UNC. UNC will be 4-8 this year with 6 losses coming by a combined 24 points. This all coming with a red-shirt freshmen QB, all freshmen RB's, sophomore leading receiver, 2/3 frosh LB's, both frosh CB's, freshmen safety, and several frosh DL. He also has another top 25 recruiting class building. That and UNC is going to begin expanding Kenan stadium to over 70,000 very soon.
  10. I wonder how long it will be before America realizes just how good Beasley is. He's got a chance to be a better Kevin Durant.
  11. Tech finally played up to their potential. The defense actually was aggressive and showed up for 3 1/2 quarters. Great to see. To bad they couldn't have shown up against Colorado, Missou, Texas, or Oklahoma State. Ah well, a Crabtree drop against Oklahoma State from being 9-3 and everyone returns next year. I'm excited.
  12. Should be a fun game to watch tonight with OU coming to Lubbock. I actually feel pretty good about this one.
  13. Yeah, it's ridiculously hard on Heisman. I was playing #1 Texas A&M at A&M and had them down 41-17 and eventually barely hung on to win 41-34 stopping them on 4th down with 3 seconds to go.
  14. Yuck. That's not something you ever want to hear. Memphis can offer something that UNC won't.
  15. I'm just glad you didn't say "Ghoul!!!!". Anyways, is anyone else continually dissapointed with the college basketball games each year? It seems they constantly lag behind the other sports games around for whatever reasons. They don't even seem to be close to their NBA counterparts like NCAA Football and Madden.
  16. Can't say I don't miss the old Deon Thompson at this point. He used to be overweight, but he could throw the weight around and help inside. Now he seems to be a 6'6 230 pound PF stuck in a SF's body with a SF's mindset. Then again, it's just one game.
  17. 33 points tonight for Linda Cohn's very own Rashard McGants. He's having a nice breakout season alongside Marvin's.
  18. Sam Houston State is a good team. Your home winning streak continues. Tech laid an egg on the FT line.
  19. Don't fret, Seattle gets Miami tonight. Would love to see the Heat begin rebuilding this year but it's not happening, not with captain ego in charge.
  20. That's the weird thing. I believe the game actually took place in late August, but this was the first time it was televised. I think I remember seeing that it actually took place August 24th. Weird situation.
  21. No prob Rock, they did have Renardo Sidney and a few other players that I didn't mention like UNC's Ed Davis. But they didn't really do anything special good or bad.
  22. You can also tune in to ESPN tonight and watch Stephen Curry light up UNC.
  23. Anybody catch the Elite 24 game last night that aired on ESPN 2 at 11:30 Central time? It's 24 of the best players regardless of class. Anyways, here's what I thought about some of the players. I'll start with some guys that might interest other posters here. Devin Ebanks, IU, commentators kept stating he reminded them of Rudy Gay and I can see it. He's got the same style of body and athleticism. Didn't see much from a shooting perspective and that's his weakpoint right now, but tons of potential. BJ Mullens, OSU, great talent, best player on the floor most of the time. Runs the floor relentlessly and has suprising athleticism on his 7 foot frame. Had a nice reverse put-back dunk that got the crowd going. If he teams with Koufos for a year, look out world. Samardo Samuels, Louisville, if he was 7' he would be the top ranked player in the class easily. But at 6'8 he's got a wide base and relentless agression. Not the most athletic guy in the world, but can throw down some dunks and suprise some people. Once he's on the block, he's not being moved by anyone. If his 6'8 size keeps him around a few years in Louisville, they should thank God. Delvon Roe, MSU, quiet game, but had a few nice dunks. He's not great at anything specific, but is solid all-around. Now for other's, including underclassmen. Brandon Jennings, Arizona, ridiculously talented, but I'm not sure how much of a shooter he is going to be. He can get anywhere he wants to on the floor and has nice size at 6'1. Reminds me of a better shooting Rajon Rondo, with less defensive intensity. I don't think he did himself well going into the unstructured style at Arizona. He could have used a defensive, focused program for a year before departing. Tyreke Evans, Louisville most likely, almost unstoppable offensive game. Doesn't possess a 40 inch vertical, but has great quickness and ballhandling. Reminds me of a bigger, thicker, Joe Forte. Hopefully he doesn't carry the same attitude. Reminds me somewhat of Monta Ellis. Demar Derozen, USC, wow is he fun to watch. Vince Carter, Kobe Bryant type athleticism and potential. Shooting has improved drastically in the past year and he has skyrocketed up the charts. Sky is the limit, but again USC isn't going to do anything for his game. Jrue Holiday, UCLA, undersized 2G prospect at 6'4, but has a lot of skills. Pretty similar to Tyreke Evans, just not as flashy and is more interested in defense. Great ballhandler that can play the PG slot as well, but SG is his calling. Kemba Walker, UConn, most dissapointing at the game. You can see he's an athletic, nice sized PG, but that's all you can see. Lance Stephenson, 09, In a similar mold to Tyreke Evans, but an inch or two taller. Great offensive game but actually has a desire to play some defense as well, not an elite high flyer athleticism wise. Dexter Strickland, 09, again WOW at the athleticism. 6'3 PG type with a 45 inch vertical, threw down some nasty dunks. Great PG prospect, but can slide over to the 2G position as well. Xavier Henry, 09, top ranked player in class, but was outshined in this game by several 09 counterparts. Still, you can see why he's such an elite talent. Smooth lefty that has a game similar to Michael Redd. He just understands how to play and where to be on the court. I think he was holding back in this environment, and let the more outspoken and showboating guys have this night. Noel Johnson, 09, underrated. Plays on the loaded Atlanta Celtics AAU team and gets overshadowed. Reminds me a lot of Martell Webster with his shooting ability and size. Will probably put on 20 pounds before suiting up on college and will be a great shooter and 2nd threat on a team. Great compliment player. John Riek, 09, good ole John Riek. He sure is tall. Quinton Ross, 2011, youngest ever to play in the game. Has a mature game for an incoming high school frosh. Game is way more developed than his classmates, we will see how he develops over time.
  24. Yes, Riek is terrible. He would be better off not stepping onto a basketball court again until the draft and hope he gets taken for his potential. I've seen two games now from him where he was standing under the basket with his 7'2 frame and still couldn't muster up enough athleticism to dunk the ball and missed the layup several times. He has nothing in the way of an offensive game, and blocks several shots just standing on the ground because of his again 7'2 frame. I don't even know if I could call him a poor man's Hasheem Thabeet.
  25. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedi.../content.1.html Good stuff, Georgetown-Syracuse cover in there, but nothing for UNC-Duke and the number 1 ranked team in the nation.
