  1. Weirdest recruitment I can remember in a long time, re: Shumpert. All 3 staffs apparently feel they have a good shot just hours before the decision is going to be made public. I still expect Marquette.
  2. Morrow is probably off limits, but Balentien and Jeff Clement might be an interesting package for Garland.
  3. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...S0601/310170009 More calls than originally reported, suprise suprise.
  4. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/story?page=rayofhope That's a great story if you have some time to read it.
  5. Yes Tennessee had a 18 point home victory over Memphis early in the year. Memphis was a young team and peaked towards the end of the year. Memphis ended the season 33-4 in the Elite 8 for the 2nd straight year. Tennessee ended up 24-11 and will be without Duke Crews most likely. Tyler Smith is a nice addition, but JP Prince hasn't done anything in his first two seasons to warrant his H.S. ranking. Memphis returns everyone from a 33 win, elite 8 appearance, and adds one of the top 4 recruiting classes in the nation including top 5 Derrick Rose. Memphis returns a core that won 9 more games than Tennessee's core, Memphis' recruiting class is much better than Tennessee's, but Tyler Smith and JP Prince are nice additions. Basically it's a wash. You HAVE to go with the team that went further in the tourney and won 9 more games when everything else is equal.
  6. Ugh, I hate that for you IU fans as well. As a university and with your tradition, you have always deserved better than Kelvin Sampson.
  7. Rashad is actually red-shirting. UNC is blessed with WR talent thankfully. I'm not sure if Mason will bulk up to a TE at his 6'5-6'6 current size or not.
  8. Yeah, I'm not crazy about the style of the UNC OL coach, more of a Denver, smaller zone blocking scheme. You guys pushed them around pretty well. I would to see more guys in the mold of Kevin Bryant, one of our red-shirting OL at 6'7 350 pounds. Smelley is going to be very good for you guys.
  9. Yep, it was an irritating game. Refs blew the interception by Deunta early on and SC held on at the end. I'm excited about UNC football for the first time since Mack left. Led by freshman and sophomores everywhere.
  10. Looks like Greg Monroe picked Georgetown on his visit today. Coach K's back is starting to act up again I'm betting.
  11. How in the world do you put Tennessee above Memphis? Honestly. Especially with Duke Crews probably out for a long time, if not off the team completely.
  12. We had Jeremy Schaap at ours, we had replays of Coach Knight choke slamming him over and over again. Then we all lined up and got to take turns getting cursed at. To top it off we had special guest Isiah Thomas for the orphans. All the cheerleaders lined up and got to be sexually harassed by him. You guys are so jealous.
  13. Go Missouri and Iowa State. [whine]Texas-Tech-A&M and UNC/South Carolina play at the same time on ABC[/whine]
  14. Oh God, I accidentally watched sportscenter after the game and caught Poetry Corner with Stuart Scott. All I can say is, are you serious?
  15. Thankfully Zeno is going to have plenty of help. Decensae White is ready to breakout with a greater freedom to shoot. Tech is relatively deep in talent at every position outside of PF. Rizvic is back from his broken eye socket, but who knows what else he will contribute besides a 7 foot body. De Bem is a decently talented C that should step in and contribute about 9 ppg and 6 rpg. In my opinion, the rotation will be broken down eventually to just... Burgess, Roberson White, Singletary Zeno, Singletary D'walyn Roberts, Cook De Bem, Rizvic Tech will finally be very athletic and relatively deep, for Knight standards at least. I know I will miss Jay Jackson just like I missed Ronald Ross.
  16. Can someone please tell Brandan Wright he left to early and he's not ready? Anyways, I'm excited that UNC is #1 in most polls, but I really don't know that they are better than Memphis. Memphis may be undisciplined, but they are ridiculously talented. Their backcourt possibilities are insane. Adding Shawn Taggert to Joey Dorsey and Dozier is pretty formidable in the frontcourt as well. I would be fine if UNC never had to play them this year :-). As for my Texas Techies. They should be a tourney team again. Knight finally decided he would recruit again and pulled in his best TTU class yet with several top 10 Texas players, and even added a solid transfer and a big man that sat out with injury. He has about 10 guys that can play, but will most likely settle on a 7-8 man rotation again.
  17. Colt Brennan does not belong on the list anymore after the Idaho game. "By the end of the season, Brennan will most likely lead the country in passing. He's an outstanding player, and if Hawaii finishes the season undefeated, the Warriors could be competing for a BCS bowl bid. Brennan's five interceptions against Idaho didn't help his cause, nor did his injury against Utah State on Saturday. " There is no chance in hell Brennan can make up the nearly 900 yard lead Graham Harrell has on him in half a season. Michael Crabtree also has to at least get a mention. He's on pace to shatter national records for catches, receiving yards, and TD's. He already holds most of the freshman national records with 70 catches and 1,074 yards receiving and 17 TD's in half a season. He's a freak of nature.
  18. Possibly they realize a 1 loss team is likely in the National Title game. Maybe not.
  19. Stanford trying to screw it up, 15 yard facemask. Then a Stanford sack, 27 seconds left. Patrick Turner had a chance to make a big play there, but couldn't hang on. INT!! Game.
  20. What an absolutely crazy college football year. Nobody is safe week in and week out.
  21. Down to USC's 5. Go Stanford. 4th and Goal now. STANFORD TD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Heads did you get in on the spread? ISU just covered by .5, or did you get in on it at 25?
