Duke always gets a vote from Spurrier. He began his coaching there. -
Raiders looking at Daunte Culpepper
Palehosefan replied to AirScott's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Culpepper has to be excited. He gets to be the whipping boy for a year behind that offensive OL while the try to upgrade and then hand the position to Russell in a year. -
Starter Jason Rice didn't last long, and other bullpen was stinking it up.

You are wasting your time Kalapse unfortunately. -
Iguchi Traded to Phillies for RP/SP Michael Dubee
Palehosefan replied to IlliniKrush's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Dubee was actually one of the best pitching prospects on his squad, several of the other guys that are pitching as well as him are 2-3 years older. Drabek is the exception. Dubee was also a starter last year and is averaging something like 1.7 IP an appearance, so I don't think it's a stretch that he could be converted back to starter. -

Danny Richar. .305, 13 homers, 61 RBI's, 25 doubles, 8 triples in AAA so far. Career .293 hitter in minors, just turned 24 in June. I'm excited to see what he can do. -
Completely forgot about that one, I played that with a friend for probably 100 hours over a month or two and NEVER could beat the game.

Fields, Wood, Richar, and Kotchman would be a fun infield to watch grow together. Although defensively it may not be pretty for a while.
-
Kotchman and Brandon Wood would be a good enough offer for me to bite on trading Konerko.

White Sox all over ESPN trade rumors

Or change Jose's name to John Garland and let Kenny get some revenge for the whole Jon Be(a)rry situation. -

Prosser had just returned from Vegas, which is where the confusion came from. -

I'm hearing rumors now that Skip Prosser has died of a heart attack out in Vegas. RIP coach, terrible news.

Mariners Scouting Sox Starters
Palehosefan replied to BaseballNick's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
If we could get Balentien for Dye. Or get Balentien and Carlos Triunfel for Garland, that would be a pretty nice haul. Me's don't have much in the way of minor league pitching unfortunately. -
Paperboy was another game that I loved to play. Who knew throwing papers could be so much fun.

Tecmo Bowl was fun when one person was Oakland, and the other KC. Then you had Bo Jackson and Christian Okoye breaking TD runs every down. Even the early Madden games were ridiculous to play. You could throw a hail mary any time you wanted, CB's never could keep up with the WR's. There was even a year of Madden where there was a glitch that you could be the RB on a pitch play and just take off running at the start of the play and the ball would magically be in your hands after a few seconds, it was unstoppable. Contra was another of my favorites, I played that and Castlevania all the time. There was even a Nintendo game that my Mom went nuts for. Dr. Mario. She was amazing at the game, all my friends would come over thinking they could beat her and she would just destroy them. This was coming from a mother in her 50's, it was hilarious to see. Did anyone else HAVE to buy each new system as it came out? I did, and I even ended up with obscure systems like a Sega Saturn, which was supposed to be the next gen system before the Playstation, it just never caught on, and it was ridiculously expensive. I think I paid $300 for it in 1995.

Rangers have to be salivating with the reported interest of the Dodgers, Braves, and Angels for Mark Teixeira. Braves are rumored to be offering Salty, Elvis Andrus, and a pitcher like Kyle Davies Dodgers are rumored to be offering Loney, Andre Ethier, and a pitching prospect(Kershaw? doubt it) Angels have apparently upped their offer that was originally Casey Kotchman, and OF Terry Evans http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...a.aeab0031.html

My official do not trade Dye sale
Palehosefan replied to harfman77's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
The other question is, how much do you trust the Sox to draft a quality prospect early? We have had lots and lots of picks since 2000 in the 1st, sandwich, and 2nd round that haven't panned out. -
Yankees looking at Garland, Thornton?
Palehosefan replied to beck72's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
I really doubt that the mlbtraderumors guy knows who Richar is or how well he is playing to earn a shot at 2B. He just sees that Iguchi is in his last year and goes to Cano. Of course we could do a lot worse than having Cano at 2B for years to come, even if it leaves Richar in no mans land. Garland and Iguchi for Cano and Tabata might be interesting. -

Palehosefan replied to beck72's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
Yankees drafted Phil Hughes, Joba Chamberlain, Eric Duncan, Ian Kennedy, Austin Jackson, and signed Jose Tabata. They went from a completely barren system to a loaded system in just a few years, and did it with mid to late 1st round picks and comp picks. -
Wikipedia is on crack, Barker had been hosting the Price is Right since 1972.

Porcello hasn't signed, and with the way the signing's have gone under slot due to MLB pressures, I doubt the Tigers will be able to put forth enough. None of UNC's 4 high school pitchers have signed yet, and only 23 days left!
