Just had to comment, it's hilarious that my PS3's wireless internet was 10x easier to set-up than my Linksys wireless home computers.

Byrnes is on pace for 25 homers and 88 rbi's with 31 steals, so I doubt he will be asking for the world. But then again Ichiro is about to get 20M a year, so logic can be thrown out the window.

Official Recruiting Thread II
Palehosefan replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Had to share this, 4 star LB that has UNC as leader, but his last name has had me giggling. Yes, I'm 23 and immature, deal with it. Ebele Okakpu http://northcarolina.scout.com/a.z?s=78&am...amp;nid=3060187 Also of note, #13 QB from last year Steven Threet is already transferring from Georgia Tech. Might be of interest here because Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin were 3 of his finalist and he's from Michigan. -
Go for it.

You know it. Hard to argue against it either. Can you rememeber the last big-time white RB? Last one I can think of was named Luke and went to BYU I believe. I can't even remember his last name now.

Mark Buehrle Agrees to 4-yr, 56 mil with escalator clause
Palehosefan replied to Brian's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Just heard it from the Twins announcers, 4 year deal. AWESOME. -
That just might be the worst lineup I have ever seen Birmingham put out. Not a single legit prospect in the lineup, yuck.

Milledge or Humber straight up for Jose and we have done well. Still not holding my breath though.

Cardinals Speculation re:Buehrle
Palehosefan replied to WSoxMatt's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
Garcia is a solid prospect, 20 years old in AA, but Reyes is absolute garbage. -
There's a lot of chatter that McGuffie is a Michigan silent and is just playing the recruiting game.

I hadn't heard that either, and it is speculation from Charlotte fans, so I guess we can take it with a grain of salt. -

Yep, Gerald is a free agent, but there's a lot of speculation that he will re-sign with Charlotte. -

Thanks, I like the deal for Charlotte without the 10M exception, as Charlotte was dying for a SG to place with Felton, Wallace, Okafor etc in the lineup and Davidson is a poor man's Brandan Wright. -

Where did you hear about a 10M trade exception? -

Now there's talk that Charlotte will be the team added to get the KG, Amare deal done. Charlotte would add the #8 pick and probably Emeka Okafor to Minnesota, who would part with KG to the Suns, and Charlotte would end up with Amare. Would seem to make sense for everyone. -
If we get a top 5 pick in the 2008 draft.....
Palehosefan replied to Jack Parkman's topic in FutureSox Board
Justin Smoak of South Carolina is a very interesting top 5 selection in the making. 6'4 220 pounds, lots of power, and an excellent glove at 1B. He should challenge Alvarrez as the top position player taken next year. -
Ellsbury's ceiling to me is a poor man's Johnny Damon or Juan Pierre. Bowden is struggling in AA and scouts have questioned his delivery, but he's only 20 and dominated high A before the jump. Moss seems like a solid OF prospect, but nothing special skill wise. For me, dealing with the Red Sox, it would be Buchholz or move along.

I know it is, as that's all I've gotten out of it so far as well, but I'll press on.

I heard about this yesterday and I'll add some more info about it. Shaffer apparently had some off-color comments to and about KW, and apparently was doing some other unprofessional things. Interesting stuff.

http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...&pid=500874 Quick, somebody jump on the Jose Martinez bandwagon, especially those that fell off when the Salvador Sanchez train derailed.

Scout.com merging with MySpace
Palehosefan replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Pretty interesting stuff going on. Rupert Murdoch and Fox own Scout.com and MySpace. Murdoch has been looking into trading MySpace.com to Yahoo for 25% of their stock shares. Yahoo now owns Rivals. -
Fiancee has the same computer with the same problem. It's as though the left touchpad is stuck, yet it's not. I've opened it up and cleaned out the Heat sink and everything, and still nothing. Very odd.

I was bored, so I decided to see if I could find a trade that worked for Kobe and Garnett. What do you think of this as it involves Chicago as well. http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=3963735. Here it is if you don't want to click on it, and it works financially. Chicago trades: Ben Wallace Ben Gordon Chris Duhon #9 pick in draft Lakers trade: Kobe Bryant Vladimir Radmonevic Brian Cook #19 pick Timberwolves trade: Kevin Garnett Mark Madsen Chicago receives: Kobe Bryant Brian Cook Lakers receives: Kevin Garnett Ben Gordon Mark Madsen Minnesota receives: Ben Wallace Vladimir Radmonevic Chris Duhon #9 pick #19 pick Chicago gets Kobe and Cook to pair with Deng, Hinrich, Thomas etc. Lakers get a superstar back in KG and starting SG. Farmar, Gordon, Odom, Garnett and Bynum is nasty. Minnesota gets Ben for the middle, Radmonevic for SF/PF, Duhon at the point and two more 1st round picks to pair with their #7 pick. I'm not a fan of any of these teams so I could be off on how I value some of these players.
