  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 10:51 PM) Flowers has gone out and earned the starting spot for next year. I have never been his biggest fan, but it's hard to argue against him when compared to starting catchers around the league. Ughhhhhhhh
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 09:52 PM) Doubtful. That's not really anything we don't already know, is it? It's speculation now
  3. "When you wake up tomorrow, go to our website, and you will see what the NFL didn’t do," Levin said."I believe they turned a blind eye to it. The NFL knew this surveillance video existed, they knew the casino has surveillance video, and we will explain (on Tuesday) why we know they knew that — but they did. They didn’t do anything to look at this video.” -tmz Goodell will resign if true.
  4. Sensitive subject bringing up the wife beaters john.
  5. Heyman should run for political office with how well he can speak.
  6. QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 07:54 PM) Haven't began watching Raw yet, but I will say that Big Show has been looking a lot more agile in the ring lately....Think someones been doing his DDP yoga....Wouldn't be the worst match in the world, but ya I'd rather have someone else face Brock. Problem is he got squashed at this past royal Rumble already. Again this would have been the perfect feud for Cesaro. But of course he was never built up.
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 06:22 PM) Not home yet just saw the boxscore. 1st td no one was even within the camera view of megatron. Weird how him of all people could lose attention of the d. 2nd td Stafford throws just a terrible lollipop across field and megatron catches it anyways. He's so lucky to have him.
  8. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 05:18 PM) I think its more the fauxrage of the last few days. I have no problem with people who in February said all of these things. I just find it interesting that most people didnt care for half a year, and now they are all outraged. This didnt just happen. People did care then though and for months. This is the same case that made Goodell look incredibly weak and have to do something no one ever thought we'd see, publicly apologize. There was so much outrage that Ray Rice got two games that he had to create a whole new set of rules to prevent future situations like that arising.
  9. QUOTE (TRU @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 12:08 PM) Why is there a public uproar over Ray Rice knocking out his annoying drunk wife but no one says anything about Josh Brent KILLING someone and only getting suspended 10 games, never mind only having to spend 6 months in jail. You shouldn't hit a woman and I have no respect for Ray Rice, but its a bigger travesty that Josh Brent will be back on the field earning his millions in 11 weeks. I mentioned that earlier but that news was conveniently released along side Michael Sam signing with the Cowboys.
  10. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 11:04 AM) I still don't see what that has to do with anything. Him being weak, strong, or stupid in regards to his light punishment of Rice was remedied when he apologized and instituted an insanely rigid (theoretically, anyway) punishment scale for domestic violence. I like that he apologized but he still ended up looking bad according to just about anyone.
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 11:00 AM) I just can't believe the NFL would be this stupid. TMZ had the original video before anyone. Hell, anyone with a FOIA request could get that tape. Why would the NFL even think about lying about seeing that tape? It gains nothing from doing so. I agree it would be stupid of them. They do have public perception to gain though if they are believed. Also, wouldn't be the first time the nfl was caught covering up evidence in a major news story to save face.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 10:58 AM) So you and others think Goodell is weak because he took the appropriate action and admitted he was wrong? Is that a bad thing? I just don't see what "weak" or "strong" has to do with anything Goodell does unless it's about negotiations with the players. No he looked weaker for giving Rice only two games. That's what I'm saying. Awkwardly worded I guess.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 10:51 AM) To who exactly? Because he changed his mind on a punishment? To everyone, for giving Rice two games.
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 10:11 AM) Yeah, 2012. He must have a clause about not selling the team unless forced to do so. This is the weirdest way to start the sale of a team you could come up with. Also great timing by the NBA. Press releases about basketball on the opening day of football. 5% of people care. You're right it is weird. But hey, as disgusting as the situation was, the nonstop headlines everywhere only could have helped upped the value of the Clippers.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 10:07 AM) Pressure from who? You think he or the owners give a s*** about what the fans think? He made (and makes) the owners a s*** ton of money. He's not going anywhere. The extreme pressure before this video was ever released did the impossible: it got Roger Goodell to publicly apologize and look weak. I fully expect the outrage to be 10x what it was before now that the video is out. If the right people are loud enough for long enough to keep this in the headlines (and the nfl is powerless to act swiftly) than more people in power for the nfl will begin to care. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 10:23 AM) Wait, you guys mean to tell me you expected the Rice video to be something more benign than that? We knew he knocked her unconscious. Yes it's a bit shocking to see the actually violence, but this is exactly what I thought happened in the elevator. Still shoud have been a longer suspension based on the first video. My guess is goddell will use the new video as a reason to correct his mistake, which is good, I just can't believe that anyone would have expected the video to have shown anything different based on what we already knew (ie his wife being colmpletely knocked out cold by a punch.) Don't get me wrong, rice is a huge scumbag, I guess I'm just surprised that so many people thought the elevator video would show something different and are now shocked by this. It's simple: people are emotional. Seeing it happen is a lot different than imagining it. Also the nfl media machine's message before this release was loud and clear: if you saw the whole video than you'd understand why Rice only got two games. It was easy to believe for a lot of people without evidence otherwise. That changed today.
  16. It wasn't too bad. I'm sure he could have gotten away with some half - assed apology letter. I think he just wants to cash in now.
  17. If the victim was Peyton Manning on the playing field, he probably gets more than 2 games.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 08:39 AM) This is the worst part about it IMO. The team had a press conference where she apologized for her "role" in the incident. Are you kidding me?
  19. It's a very slight chance of course, but I could imagine a scenario where Goodell is forced to resign.
