QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 03:03 PM) No, Chuck Martin did it last year. That's what I thought. There was a discussion on an illini board regarding his Illini coaching canidacy and how much influence he had on ND's offense. I don't think he is too much of a candidate anyways but we'll see.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 02:52 PM) Kelly is clearly an A+ recruiter, and I am warming to him as a playcaller. I still have a hard time getting over the time a few years ago when he called a motherf***ing fade route from inside the 10 yard line with the backup QB in the game when a FG would have won the game. That was putrid. Did Kelly do the play calling last year?

High School Football in Illinois
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 18, 2014 -> 12:25 AM) Hell of a game; Providence wins, 45-42. Rice's QB with some insane statistics. I tell you, though. Rice is going nowhere with defensive play like that. You need to play defense to win titles. http://southtownstar.suntimes.com/sports/3...ml#.VEH5NqvwJFY Sounds like Rice outplayed them from what I've heard. By this point they're a legit contender for 8A, defense or not.

I swear earlier this year before EC, they couldn't even justify Cena vs Orton headlining a Raw so they made it by saying it would be the last time ever they matched up. If it does go on last, the crowd will completely s*** on it.

That'll end up good for Seattle. They were way way way to preoccupied with how to use him instead just calling a normal game. Their offense had ridiculously just ended up trying to use deception on seemingly every play. This was happening more and more each game.

Revisiting Eaton/Santiago trade
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 14, 2014 -> 08:45 AM) Yeah, his average of less than 5 innings a start, escecially considering the White Sox bullpen, really left a hole in the staff. His war would have 5th on the staff at the cost of nothing. It's a hole. QUOTE (shysocks @ Oct 14, 2014 -> 08:46 AM) Dominant is a bit strong. 3.30 ERA with 77 K's and 35 walks in 90 innings after the demotion. Also, look at his game log - in none of those 17 starts did he pitch into the 7th inning. He generally lasted about 5. He had four quality starts. He was okay but a pitcher like him doesn't fit well on a team with a bullpen like the 2014 Sox. Ah true. Haven't checked on him in awhile. He was dominant in June, July and August going 4-1 with a 2.45 era, a whip of 1.08 and a k rate in the high 8s. Struggled again in September

Revisiting Eaton/Santiago trade
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 13, 2014 -> 10:27 PM) 3 pages in and no BW post about Santiago? I'm here I'm here. Santiago was pretty dominant after being recalled and was a major part in the Angels ability to take over the A's. Overall the year was a step back for him but he still has left a big whole in our pitching staff. Hopefully we won'thave to spend much to replace him. I'm rooting for him and he should bounce back to his 2013 levels next year. My worry is still the same, that he's been jerked around so often that it's stunted his development but we'll see.
