November 27, 201411 yr First and foremost Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Who's going out Black Friday shopping?? I'm going for the first time and would like some advice from the masses. I'll be going to the Tiger Direct in Hoffman Estates. I'm an Indiana boy and never knew Tiger Direct had an actual store (I've ordered stuff online from there a lot). Anyway, will a place like that have a super long line? Doors open at 5am, what time would you suggest getting there?

November 27, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 27, 2014 -> 12:00 PM) I would suggest changing your mind and staying home. Just me though. I have, but only because I read the small print on the deal I was going for. TigerDirect had a 5 dollar tablet (See technology thread for problems with my current tablet) after a 50 dollar mail in rebate buttt you had to get an 80 dollar Mcafee security subscription in order to get the rebate. I'm interested in keeping this thread alive to hear some wild stories though.
November 27, 201411 yr QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 27, 2014 -> 02:56 PM) For people who'd prefer family and relaxing on Thanksgiving rather than standing in line with a bunch of loons, is there any online deals today? It seems I am going to have be buying gifts for my old lady this year... Slickdeals.net is your best resource
November 28, 201411 yr All the stores opening on Thanksgiving has definitely taken a major dent into black friday. No where I went today was overcrowded, dont think sports authority even had the full 80 people standing outside at open.

My normal route to work at 7am takes me past a Meijer and a Kohl's, plus several other stores/restaurants. I Intentionally took a different route this morning to avoid that area, so I don't know how busy it was then.
November 28, 201411 yr QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 27, 2014 -> 03:53 PM) Slickdeals.net is your best resource Yup, best deals site out there. Picked up a few things on Fanatics and on Amazon, including Shadow of Mordor for $25 on the PS4. Very happy for the few things I bought, all during a "work" day.
November 28, 201411 yr My hotel out here is right next to a Super Target. Drove home last night around 8:30 and the parking lot was packed to the brim.
November 28, 201411 yr Visited Target last night. Their Target mobile computer systems went down. I think after returning something they wound up writing me a credit card refund worth $50 for my time. Wound up at Verizon store. Hello first new phone in 3.5 years.
November 28, 201411 yr I bought a onesie from Abercrombie & Fitch. I can already see full Sunday's in my future on the couch in my onesie.

December 2, 201411 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 1, 2014 -> 09:52 AM) Picked up a 75 inch 7150 samsung LED for half off on cyber monday. Nice! I can't recommend these new 70-80 inch tvs enough...best investment I have ever made...it's truly a different experience with a screen that big.
December 2, 201411 yr I bought the Lego Movie for $3.99 (7 something with s/h). That was the extent of my black friday/cyber monday shopping. I didn't really see any "must have" deals.

I need to find a wall mounted cabinet though.
December 2, 201411 yr I bought the walmart 50 inch tv. Haven't received it yet. Obviously it'll be off brand, but I'll certainly take it at that price.

I got it last year, my off brand is Cielo. The TV is nice, works well. Directv doesnt recognize the brand, though, so I cannot program my remote
December 3, 201411 yr QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 09:34 AM) Nice! I can't recommend these new 70-80 inch tvs enough...best investment I have ever made...it's truly a different experience with a screen that big. I am waiting to get a 115 inch screen. I can then have a totally, totally different experience. I will never go back to the 70-80 inch!
