  1. Nets may be tanking to get the 6th seed. People speculated they might and they are doing their part so far tonight. If that happens I will gladlyttake the 4 seed.
  2. De Aza got a check swing call to go his way
  3. Reigns is nowhere ready for singles push. Pretty sure that's why they kept the Shield together.
  4. http://m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/blogpos...op&id=67319 And their sub headline is an article on defensive rpm. It's like they just read my post. What the hell.
  5. Lol as I write this I see espn.coms headline article is discussing how Brooklyn is better off without Lopez.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 16, 2014 -> 12:34 AM) Their raw opponents ppg allowed looks good due to their slow-pace. They're only 18th in defensive efficiency, though. KG has missed 30 games and barely played in a handful of others. Not sure what you're seeing. KG has been below average to say the least They were TERRIBLE defensively before the turn of the calender which also coincides with him actually suiting up somewhat healthy at center for them. I won't pretend to have the split stats to back me up because I'm lazy and they are too hard to find but I found this recent Nets blog that backs me up: "When Brook Lopez went down, it was believed that the Nets would be a much, much worse defensive team than they already were. Really, they were terrible. But when Garnett moved to play the center spot for the Nets, they actually became one of the better defensive teams. With him on the court, the Nets are now an elite defensive team. Without him, as we've seen in losses against the Raptors and Pistons, the paint is left unmanned and the Nets suddenly look like one of the worst defenses in the NBA. Garnett is still an anchor down low, and is still a valuable asset to the Nets' success." I lied though and I will bring up some stats. His defensive rpm is second best of anyone in the nba this year. Still elite even if that skews towards big guys. It's per 100 possessions so his limited playing time isn't a factor.
  7. That real strike 3 was worse than ball 2.
  8. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 16, 2014 -> 01:51 AM) I just got home so I haven't seen it but DJ was pretty upset about the call on the replay. It was awful
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 09:58 PM) Except Kevin Garnett is no longer elite. And even if he is, he only plays half a game. His defense turned the Nets from about the worst defensive team out there to above average. It's still absolutely elite. And he plays 22 minutes a game so that he can play 30 plus for the playoffs.
  10. I'd absolutely take Kevin Garnett playing defense at an elite level over Brook Lopez. Their results show the same.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 04:51 PM) Last year the 3 Boston games were weekday night games in late May and none had more than 22,000. The team was still hovering around .500 too. Plus, the Hawks game 1 is that night, so some people may stay home. Thursday is essentially a holiday game though so that should push the crowds out. Red Sox too should have 5x the bandwagon again compared to last year. Unfortunately looks like the weather will damper things anyways
  12. Was going to say 30k at least for Thursday night but looks like the night weather has been downgraded from 70 to 59. Still, Red Sox, Sale vs Lester, lot of people off on Friday and it's going into a holiday weekend. Should see a huge crowd.
  13. I'll take those scout seats though for whoever is giving them away.
  14. But the Bulls won't be favorites against the Nets and then they won't be favorites again against the Pacers, so that scenario is very unlikely. At least with the 3 seed they get a relatively easy first round and it's always fun to play the Heat, even if the result is inevitable.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 02:55 AM) No Brook Lopez this year. Bulls were also 2-1 against them in the regular season. That and home court make me pretty confident the Bulls can beat the Nets in the first round. It won't be easy, but it's doable. They are better without Lopez.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 03:41 AM) Heat lose again. It looks like the Pacers will get the #1 seed. The Bulls should lose on Wednesday. Bulls should want nothing to do with the Nets in the first round. That was a struggle enough last year.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 02:18 AM) Jimmer may have bought himself some playing time Thibs completely shot that down in the presser.
  18. Heat resting their players so they secure the 2 seed. They are afraid of the Bulls.
  19. Tournament for the right to take the IC belt of Big E. Thank god.
