  1. Bob Dylan, I've been playing a ton of Resistance online lately. I'll friend you. Same name?
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 05:56 AM) NHL 94 baby. The wrap around move with Jeremy Roenick combined with Eddie the Eagle between the pipes= I was unbeatable. Every game ended in something like a 18-15 score, but yeah, that game was awesome. Nothing beat the cheap rap around goals in that game.
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 05:55 AM) Was U. Josh, Frank? I loved how teams had different themes for their players names. Good times indeed. Yeah, U. Josh was Frank. And he killed in that game.
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 05:33 AM) Would you say it's worth the purchase? And Marino better be on the top level. Depends. If you like Madden because you can set the price of hot dogs in your stadium, then, no I wouldn't buy it. But if you like Madden for the core football elements, then yes, I would say it's worth the purchase.
  5. Ken Griffey for SNES remains the greatest sports game ever. Too awesome. U. Josh owned all. Ice Hockey for NES gives it a run for its money though.
  6. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 05:20 AM) Anyone played All Pro Football 2k8? I'm very intrigued. I bought it. Gameplay is excellent. It plays better than any Madden title I've played. It's a lot of fun trying to build the ultimate legend team. Each legend is put into a different level and you can only have so many legends from that level(For example, John Elway and Barry Sanders are my two legends from the top level. Then you have 9 other legends from the other two levels and the rest of the team is filled by generic players). So there's definitely a lot of strategy involved in building a team. The game is kind of bare bones content wise. There's only a season mode, no franchise mode or anything like that. The core game is very online based.
  7. Even though he usually isn't funny, Rob Schneider going on Leno dressed up as Lindsay Lohan was quite hilarious.
  8. She was supposed to be on Leno tonight. There goes that.
  9. So it's Cena and a chick vs. The IC champ Umaga, and the tag champs Cade and Murdoch. HOW WILL HE EVER OVERCOME THE ODDS!?!?!
  10. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Jul 22, 2007 -> 06:54 PM) I don't know an exact date but it should be this fall. Oh and MGS is most likely coming out for the 360. I believe they scrapped the replacement chip plan, and which is why they made the warranty 3 years now.
  11. QUOTE(shipps @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 01:46 AM) .I kept on going to Soxtalk just on reflex it was strange. Glad I'm not the only one
  12. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 07:35 PM) Wasnt Joey Crawford mysteriously taken off the playoffs ref crew this year? Wasn't really mysterious. He challenged Tim Duncan to a fight. He's reinstated now anyway.
  13. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 03:41 PM) Still, all things considering no matter who we get this class will be a dissapointment b/c we didn't get the Chicago kids. Stupid logic.
  14. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 03:05 AM) I don't have a particular NCAA team I like. I just like basketball -- although I feel guilty about that in the case of college hoops because it's such a screwed up system. What I don't like about Illinois is a series of DUIs and other crimes that put people in the community in danger with relatively no penalties to the guilty parties because they are on the basketball team. Obviously, my dislike of the Illinois basketball program bugs you. All I can is that my disappointment with UI is magnified because I want to like the institution and the basketball team. Really, a Northwestern like performance would be fine with me if the off-the-court problems went away (and the AD didn't embarass UI by publicly berating players and officials at games). Anyway, I think UI could get a one man class of Suggs and roll the other scholarship over to 2009 and it really wouldn't be that bad of a recruiting season at all. Supposedly the class of 2008 is pretty weak, so missing out on some guys isn't the end of the world. Unfortunately, the media and a lot of fans would still portray it as a failure for Weber. It's clear that's a story the media like to write about. Jereme Richmond was obviously asked a very leading question about his commitment to UI in hopes of just the sort of response he gave. Don't be so fast about the DUI stuff. We still have yet to hear the fallout. As for recruiting, both 2008 and 2009 are said to suck and 2010 is apparently loaded. 2010 features Richmond, McCamey's brother and Luther Head's brother, but Illinois only has one scholi available by my count, so their going to have to roll one over from 2009. For 2008, I too think Weber landing one of Suggs/ Miller/Shumpert would be a fine class. I would like Matt Roth to fill in the other scholi(Minority on this one, I know).
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 05:57 PM) The fact it became official (and yes, regardless of what the merrymen are saying on the IB, Shumpert is gone) that 3 top recruiting targets in state are gone is just pathetic (oh, and Bradley is in Shumpert's final 5 but not Illinois, LMAO). I have said for a while now that it's too late in the game to have 0 2008 verbals and that this class had disaster written all over it, and that seems to be the case. And of course Richmond probably won't end up at Illinois, he can't sign until November of 2009 and I have doubts as to if Weber will even be our coach then, and if he is, his recruiting will have more than haunted the program by then. Everybody points to Weber's record, but he can't recruit, he's lost control of his actual players off the court, and the record on the court will begin to reflect the record in the recruiting game VERY soon. Always works that way in college sports. It's sad to see how fast Bruce has done this to the program. Shumpert did not drop Illinois for the record. The Sun-Times dropped the story after their guy failed to correctly read another article on how 5 schools were watching his progress at the Peach Jam.
  16. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jul 14, 2007 -> 07:14 PM) <!--quoteo(post=1472026:date=Jul 14, 2007 -> 11:56 AM:name=nitetrain8601)-->QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 14, 2007 -> 11:56 AM) <!--quotec-->As someone who owns both a 360 and PS3, the 360 is the one collecting dust. Got both at the same time. 360 really doesn't excite me. In fact, if someone robbed me of it, I wouldn't even realize it until maybe years later. If I got PS3 today, what's one game I would need to get? (Besides Resistance and Ninja Gaiden, I've heard those are both awesome). Also, I'd need to buy the HDTV AV cables right? If you do get one, you better get one today. Price cut should be over any day now.
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 06:40 PM) Aww, I liked having the longest active thread on Soxtalk. We'll be back soon. As for the already posted SD! spoilers, wow. What a disaster.
  18. I bought 2K Sports' All Pro-Football today.
  19. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jul 12, 2007 -> 07:00 PM) MGS4 looks awesome. Yeah it does. Between that, Lair, and Killzone 2 you can tell the PS3 really is capable of significantly better graphics than the 360. I was pretty amazed that the Killzone team actually pulled it off. You can't tell the difference between their in-game graphics and the CGI video. Incredible, really.
  20. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 12, 2007 -> 06:30 PM) Any word if Super Smash Bros. for Wii will be online? And I wonder if Mario Kart will be... They said both would be.
  21. By my count that's two hitting coaches gone this season and neither of them were named Walker.
  22. Sony was really the only impressive conference. Nintendo unveiled Wii Fit, which doesn't look to good, but it uses a separate control method which is a pad that sense your motion.I think it would be pretty cool if they used it on an actual game. The Wii Zapper with Resident Evil looks cool too.
