How much bitching have you heard from Cub fans
BlizzardOfOzzie replied to WSoxShuf's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Um, yeah - exactly who the f***'s side is Santo on, anyway? Didn't he also play for the Sox? Seems to me Santo is still just all bitter and pissed off about what happened to him and his beloved Cubs in 1969. Too bad that they blew a 12 game lead in the division and watched the Miracle Mets go on a tear. That crap didn't happen to him when he played for the Sox. I'm so sick of former Cubs players and Cubs fans crying about this and that, as if the whole f***ing world should cater to their feelings and love them because they haven't won crap since 1908. Guess what? We haven't won crap since 1917, but you don't hear Rooney and Farmer calling other players "hot dogs", as if nobody should be "showing the Sox up" because we're lovable losers. How asinine. I hope we go into Wrigley this weekend and send all those primadonna frat-boy dumbf***s right back into their three-flats with the bad porches and they can drink themselves stupid and go, "Aw, man the Cubbies are letting us down again". I say shut the f*** up - I'm tired of it. GO SOUTH SIDE HITMEN! -
Who will catch Garcia in his first start?
BlizzardOfOzzie replied to homerball's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hmmm ... I was kinda hoping Garcia would start against the Cubs. But, beating the Twins is FAR more important than beating the Cubs. Um, at least I think so. I can't believe how ironic all this is. We beat the Cubs, pull off a big trade, and now face the team we trail by one game. Wow. No one ever said being a Sox fan wasn't exciting! -

Okay - I dropped the Blizzard Of Ozz album cover. I'll try and find a smaller picture of it. -

I agree. f*** Wrigley Field. Take a big s*** on the motherf***er and see if any of us of give a fat flying f***. :puke -
Man, this completely sucks to say Goodbye to Olivo. Loved watching him play and wish him continued success with the Mariners. As pissed as I am about losing Olivo, I think what we have to remember here is that pitching is EVERYTHING. Without it, you get nowhere. Garcia had better not disappoint us. Furthermore, we better sign Garcia to a long-term deal. Regardless of what happens this season, we better not have lost Olivo for nothing by letting Garcia go after 2004. f*** that. THE CUBS STILL SUCK AND GO SOUTH SIDE SOX!

I don't know how anyone could diss Mariotti. He's easily my favorite sportswriter of all time and I take great joy in reading his column every day. Then again, I'm a Packer fan and the White Sox are the ONLY Chicago team I could and would ever root for. Therefore, I guess that explains why I like Mariotti. I'm no Chicago sports fan, but I do love and bleed the White Sox. That's it. Jay Mariotti RULES.

Agreed. Montreal was not Ozzie's best moments running the show. I'd just as soon not use playing in an NL park as an excuse. We CANNOT lose this series to Cleveland. We need to play well leading up to the Crosstown Classic.

It's funny how you guys suck!
BlizzardOfOzzie replied to cubsruleyoulosers's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
:finger No - what's funny is how the Marlins took the Cub's stupid asinine dreams and f***ed them all up. Can't wait to see it happen AGAIN. Completely Useless By September :finger -
I agree. But, I think this squad will end up much better than the 2000 squad.

(I went to Wisconsin when I first started to posting, I graduated so I live back in Chicago) Ah - gotcha. Very cool. Madison rules. Madison and Milwaukee are the only two cities in that entire state I could ever live in. The rest of the state is pretty much a bunch of sheltered, close-minded inbred morons. No thanks.

Love your picture of Jim McMahon - the ONLY player in NFL history to win a world championship with the Bears AND the Packers. Now that's historic!
-
Oh yeah - the topic - is Garcia REALLY that good? Don't know much about him.
-
Yeah - he has been something else. I was there at Lambeau in Week 3 of 1992 when he came out to replace an injured Majkowski, and I was like - who the f*** is this guy wearing # 4. Um, well - he has started every game since. Insane. You watch - I'll bet when Favre retires, Chicago will throw him the biggest retirement party ever at Grant Park, or some s***. Just for the sake of not having to see him beat the Bears again, right? I remember the 80's when it was the other way around. :headshake

That's funny. Hey - I'm on a Chicago team's message board, so what do I expect? No insult taken, my friend. We both love the Sox and that's what matters.
-
I couldn't agree more.
-
SoxBadger - What an awesome name! You go to school at UW? I'm moving to Madison next year. Chicago's cost of living sucks ass. Besides, I'm a life-long Packers and Bucks fan anyway, so that will be golden. The ONLY thing I'm gonna miss about Chicago is the WHITE SOX, lots of Mexican food and lots of hot Latina women. But I'll be getting the satellite package so I can get all 162 Sox games up there. I ain't missing no White Sox games. Fu*k no.

Yeah, I also noticed that Uribe's average has been taking a dip as of late. I'm sure the slides won't last too long. Both Uribe and Harris have been a huge part of why our season has been a success thus far. They'll be back around. Keep in mind - this is not really a good series to use as a barometer. I don't care what anyone says - until they are dethroned, the Marlins are the best team in all of baseball, and nobody really even notices, even though they're the defending champs. They have awesome, consistent pitching and always seem to play smart, mistake-free baseball for the most part. Jack McKeon is a genius. But, we want the series tonight! Go South Side Sox!
-
Well - this is not rocket science, but if we're NOT gonna play second fiddle all the time, then Reinsdorf needs to pull his head and coke-bottle glasses out of his ass and PONY UP SOME FAT COIN!

I'm actually concerned about both Schoney and Garland. They are both good, decent pitchers. Garland had a solid outing the other night, but he gave up a few long balls. Not to be negative at all, but something tells me our rotation is not exactly as strong as we'd like to believe. Buerhle is slowly turning himself into the ace of this staff. He's also been fortunate to be getting huge run support this year. Loiaza has been solid, but is hardly blowing anybody away. Schoney and Garland have been mediocre at best. On top of that, we don't even have a 5th starter yet. We're still playing well and we absolutely will battle the Twins for 1st place all year long. I'd just hate to see us get into the playoffs and get a big pitching letdown because the inconsistency we're seeing right now ain't gonna cut it in the playoffs. Then again - the current roster will probably be tweaked and modified a bit by then anyway.

Did anyone here go to a 1983 playoff game?
BlizzardOfOzzie replied to BlizzardOfOzzie's topic in Pale Hose Talk
JoshPR - Oh yes - Ratt was around in 1983. That was the year their self-titled EP debut came out. Their biggest commercial success, Out of the Cellar, came out one year later in 1984. -
I'm not gonna start a Packer-Bear pissing contest. This is a White Sox board and we ALL do love the Sox - that's why we're here. I simply elaborated on another reason I could never like the Cubs.

BlizzardOfOzzie replied to BlizzardOfOzzie's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Y2HH - Glad to know I'm not the only one! Yes - 1996 was sweet. Perhaps we'll have to hook up in Bridgeport after a Sox game sometime for a few cold ones at First Base, or something. I'm not too familiar with a lot of the bars over there, but I'd love to check them out. All this crap about "you can't go to the bars after Sox games, blah, blah, blah". Whatever. I'm all for it. -

BlizzardOfOzzie replied to BlizzardOfOzzie's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well, again - this is only my 5th year of being a Sox fan, so I just wanted to pick the brains of the long-time die-hards. Didn't mean to stir up any bad memories. Trust me - I know disappointment. I was in 7th grade when the Bears won the Super Bowl AND I was a Packer fan then like I am now and I STILL have mental scars from all the verbal abuse. I've been to 58 games at Lambeau Field since 1984, MOST of those when we sucked in the 1980's. So, I can relate to being sad and disappointed. I just know that 1983 was a magical year for Sox fans, even though a World Series did not happen. -
Well, if the Cubs had a mascot that was a bear, it would even further enhance my dislike for that hated team. I do NOT want to cause a ruckus around here by saying this, but as a life-long die-hard Packer fan (since 1982 to be exact), I know damn well that: a) The Bears used to play at Wrigley Field. Not cool. B) When cubs grow up, they become bears. Definitely not cool. So, the Cubs can go ahead and get a bear mascot. I love the Packers and the White Sox, so I've got nothing to do with any Bears or Cubs.
