At least hold a zoom call with the players. I think you nailed it perfectly before, Tony doesn’t feel it’s his responsibility to reach out to the players. You would think Tony would start to develop a rapport with his key players and not have them have to rely on reading about all the horrible things about their new manager on Twitter.
I tried very hard to convince myself it wouldn’t be as bad as 95 pct of the people on here thought it would be. I’ve said this before, but thank god this isn’t college sports as the transfer portal would be blowing up.
When are people going to learn that Stoney is basically the narrator for the organization? When he said the other day Tony should be communicating with the players, it was obvious there was a lack of dialogue. I still can’t get over how potentially damaging this ridiculous hire was.
I have no knowledge of this, but what if it’s a situation where the organization just doesn’t like how he calls a game and wants a mulligan on the signing?
Sure, if they feel he doesn’t work with pitchers well and they’d rather invest their money in McCann than him. I don’t think it happens, but crazier things have happened.
I know I’ve said this before, but if they dislike his catching so much, they really should try to trade him and bring back McCann. They would have to throw in some money, but it would still end up being cheaper.
And what happens when Tony decides Molina is better defensively and gives him too many starts while he puts Grandal at DH and Vaughn ends up losing at bats?
Heyman predicted the following:
- Springer to Boston for 4/80
- Bauer to Giants for 5/150 (he said he’s heard the Giants could be in on him)
- Realmuto 6/132 to Mets
- Lemahieu back to Yanks 3/60
