I’ve seen a few places state that none of the closers will sign until Hendriks does.

Bullpen guy all year for Crochet, Kopech starting off in minors seems to be very likely.

I agree but it seems the Sox brass doesn’t. Between what Katz said yesterday and Eric today, I think he’s in the bullpen to start the year.

I get the Yadi hate, trust me. I can see how they would talk themselves into using him more as catcher and Grandal at DH until Vaughn is ready.

And both of those would be good additions in all honesty.

Seems to me they’re replicating the Sale plan with him. With that said, him having health issues after a few weeks didn’t exactly make them feel comfortable with him being a starter.

So with Crochet likely starting off in the mode of 2017 Hader (multiple innings a few times a week), it makes me even more opinionated that a huge contract for Hendriks would be a bad use of resources.

So Crochet is going to be in the bullpen in 2021? I know some won’t like that. As for the rankings, Bailey was easily the most pleasant surprise.

Brantley is way more likely to want a two year deal though.

Still say Schwarber will go somewhere he gets 400 at bats. Too bad, he’d be a great weapon against RHP.

I would say a very poor record with free agency prior to last year.
