  1. Rogers said they’d be asking for 2-3 top ten prospects from a team
  2. Only thing is when Bergman slumps it still looks like he’s played baseball before. I get what you’re saying though.
  3. Agreed, him or LaStella or bust.
  4. Twins 2019 had an incredible offense and then 2020 saw a handful of injuries and underperformance that derailed their season. Their lack of depth resulted in mediocre players like Wade and Blankenship in the lineup in important games.
  5. Maybe Tony will think it’s the older Jose DeLeon and be interested
  6. Yes he said they’re going to move on. Said a MLB exec predicted Colome would get overpaid. That’s only Sox nugget he had. I mentioned in other thread, but he also mentioned Yu is very much available.
  7. also likely to see a huge downgrade from McCann to Collins.
  8. Yes, and if Yoan isn’t back to form. Too easy to foreshadow a lineup with Eaton, Leury, Madrigal and Engel in it. That’s not exactly the ‘27 Yankees.
  9. Really think the Sox need more depth on offense to avoid a dynamic offense potentially turning into average. But that’s for another thread.
  10. Jesse Rogers has been vocal the last few days about the rising possibility of the Cubs dealing Yu. Watch out for the Twins here, as they pursued him a few years ago.
  11. One more thing....never for one second did I believe Hahn regarding saving up cash for future use. It was just his way of trying to keep the fan base from melting down even more.
  12. That easily could be the money that they’re using now to even keep payroll at a similar rate. Who knows, but this is the one offseason where it’s incredibly difficult to project what the payroll will be. I couldn’t agree more with you regarding the Sox seemingly building a roster good enough to make the postseason, but not putting together a juggernaut.
  13. Sox did spend a lot of money last offseason in free agency and extensions. I’m still shocked at how it’s so hard for some to realize the lack of fans in 2020 and uncertainty going forward has altered their financial situation. They might not have lost money, but they sure as hell didn’t generate as much as they projected.
  14. It’s misleading because they didn’t include the additional tweets telling everyone not to panic, as no one is making moves so far.
  15. A wasted 13 million is a big problem though with this owner. We can say as much as we want about how the rebuild was never going to work if they’re this cheap....but unfortunately they are.
  16. Yates would only be a one or two year contract. If Hendriks goes out and busts in a year or two, that contract becomes an albatross for what should be the peak seasons.
  17. It’s a significant amount of money for a 35 year old closer 4 years from now when a lot of the core players will be getting way more expensive. Just doesn’t seem like the best allocation of resources. Give me Yates and LaStella for the same cost of Hendriks this year.
  18. I fully support Sox backing off instead of giving a 4th year.
  19. Also look at the way he’s writing it. “May” basically means he knows nothing.
  20. Eaton is your prototypical playing not to lose pick instead of going for the win. I’m sure others will disagree, but I’ve never trusted Hahn’s ability to put together the pieces for a WS contender via free agency.
  21. Twins are going to bring in some solid players over the next few months. Talent level pretty even between the two teams.
  22. He just didn’t read the Passan report correctly
  23. One of the reasons I’m surprised they want a long-term closer via free agency is they have 3 guys in the organization that could easily be big time closers (Bummer, Heuer, Crochet)
