BOLD prospect predictions for 2018
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 03:20 PM) Fathom in mid-season form. Figured you'd appreciate it. Also before the site crashed I made a post saying how Robert needed to be careful when stealing my due to the injuries, and then the thumb incident occurred.

2018 MLB Draft
Fwiw, I think it was PerfectGame that said Giants are very interested in Liberatore. Also I think Kiley suggested that Madrigal wasn't a WSox type guy.

2018 MLB Draft
Swaggerty's average scares me. Barely hitting .300. My boy Eierman is coming on strong. Also, just say no to Rolison.

Minor League Assignments
QUOTE (Dunt @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 04:04 PM) Absolutely hate some of these assignments. Rutherford did not do a single thing last season to deserve being promoted. Adams, Stephens, and Guerrero should be in the Charlotte rotation, Stephens and Guerrero are too old for AA. What does Dunning have left to prove in A+? Rutherford couldn't have looked worse in the games I saw him this spring

1 surprise, 1 disappointment, 1 dark horse
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 03:09 PM) Surprise- Adam Engel, I think he will hit .250+ with 15 HR and 15 SB Disappointment: Reynaldo Lopez, his walk rate will really hurt him throughout the year Dark Horse: Nicky Delmonico, I just love this guys swing and I think he will prove to be a big part of the future. Agree on all three. Lopez looked really bad in ST. Basically a two-pitch pitcher now and has bad fastball command. OTOH, I thought Engel looked great.

Spring Training: White Sox vs Reds 2:05 PM
It will be interesting to see if Robert can stay healthy this year. Had quite a few injuries last year running the bases
-
Ryan Cordell
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 1, 2018 -> 12:37 AM) I am in the camp that thinks Engel is what he is. Can’t think of many players that learned how to hit at 26 or older Agreed and it's surprising to me he seems to have the CF edge over Leury

2/28 Spring Training game vs. Rangers
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Feb 28, 2018 -> 11:03 PM) Ugh, Moncada strikes out on a pitch right down the middle on 3-2. Good news if if they sign Moustakas, he will offset Yoan's insane called looking totals. He really does need to learn how to protect

Moustakas linked to Sox again
QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 28, 2018 -> 04:20 PM) I was going to post that but wasn't sure. Doesn't that just replace Hosmer? That supposedly is the last of their available payroll. Cuthbert I believe will play 3rd for them

Moustakas linked to Sox again
Royals acquire Duda, so they are out on Moose

2018 MLB Draft
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Feb 28, 2018 -> 06:23 AM) Still rooting for Gorman (Kelenic if Gorman has been drafted) as our 1st RD pick, Beer or Gray Jr as our 2nd RD pick. Isn't A. Thomas a huge favorite as the 2nd round pick?

Should/could bottom 6-8 MLB teams use reverse analytics to lose?
Or just hire Robin Ventura

2018 MLB Draft
Swaggerty went 2-2 double and 3 walks vs Auburn tonight. He's my top guy right now. Also interesting to see Beer with a mediocre average again. It's still very early, but his hit tool just seems to be very blah

February 27th Spring Training Game Thread
So it's interesting they have Cordell leading off against a LHP and Yoan batting 7th. Meanwhile Yolmer has been leading off vs RHP

Jake Burger out for season with ruptured Achillies Tendon
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 27, 2018 -> 04:31 AM) Sounds like we’re not getting an update until tomorrow. I’m not optimistic at the moment. You would think a ruptured Achilles would be pretty easy to diagnose though. Agreed and the tone of the tweets from his teammates and family leaves little doubt it's torn

Jake Burger out for season with ruptured Achillies Tendon
QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 27, 2018 -> 03:20 AM) Typically its months of microtrauma not just a few days. That probably caused a iiritation but wouldnt be the single cause of it. Im sure the medical staff wouldnt have expected an injury like this in a kid his age. Yoga?

Jake Burger out for season with ruptured Achillies Tendon
Could he have irritated it when he came to a hard stop rounding 2nd on the double?

Jake Burger out for season with ruptured Achillies Tendon
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 10:04 PM) Luckily for him, he doesn't rely on speed and athleticism like Mitchell did. He'll come back from this, but might need to move to 1B lpng term. We'll see. Yeah thinking future DH but in all honesty, that was most realistic anyways

Jake Burger out for season with ruptured Achillies Tendon
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 09:54 PM) Devastating injury. Praying it's not a torn Achilles, but this sounds bad. Of course it's torn. You don't see guys in that much pain from a strained achilles
