  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 04:05 AM) This is almost certainly a reverberation from the Robert signing. Benetti also mentioned it as a key part of the deal
  2. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 03:40 AM) Perfect fundamentals from TA. Finally. Not at the plate. Had a 1-0 pitch and weakly guided the ball to right field. He's so much better when he tries to drive the ball
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 03:49 AM) He looked focused. I liked. Anywho, let's see where this goes. He looks so dangerous as a lefty
  4. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 01:54 AM) May I ask why? I could see him as a young Max Scherzer (glass half full) or a journeyman back of rotation guy(glass half empty) or he could be a reliever. Just not sure if he can pull off the finesse style when he loses a few mph.
  5. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 02:46 AM) Rodon, if he figures it out, will take a while. He will be in the 26-28 age range if he ever does. He might make a journeyman career with pitching coaches thinking they can get the most out of his stuff if he never figures it out. Unfortunately, if he figures it out, it will be too late for the Sox. He will have either been traded or it will be year or two of good pitching before he walks. I'm not so sure he's going to be a pitcher that ages well
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 01:32 AM) Sounds like if Fulmer had spent all of 2016 in A+ and started this year in AA, you'd love him. I don't see how these guys repeating AA or in Stephen's case reaching AA at 24 years old is supposed to be some conclusive proof that Fulmer is an inferior prospect. It's fairly logical to think if we slow-walked Fulmer's development, he'd have a fan club following his AA debut this year with interest. I've been wondering if he might be hurt since about mid-May this eyar, but what seems most clear is the Sox are paying the price for pushing his development timeline harder than was reasonable. All you have to do is see the stuff he's throwing and it's pretty evident he's a long shot to perform well in the majors. His stuff has declined too much to make up for his mediocre command. Stephens had the injury issue, but unlike Fulmer, at least he's consistently getting AA hitters out
  7. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 01:34 AM) Seagar hits the LAD's 4th homer of the night. A two run shot and it's 5-1 and Rodon is knocked out That's why you play for one run
  8. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 01:33 AM) I'm about ready to just trade him for whatever. This would be as low as his value could be. Let him get his value up and consider it a year from now. I do hope next year that the Sox let him loose and tell him to throw hard and use his slider more.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 01:33 AM) Does it really even matter Nope but he, along with Anderson, are the guys you hope to see progress as the year goes on
  10. Horrible outing...not sure he got a single swing and miss on his fastball
  11. Rodon throwing clear strikes that he's not getting the call on
  12. QUOTE (harkness @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 02:02 AM) exactly.. it does remind me of high school girls softball strategy. Last night's managing by him was incredibly bad.
  13. Or how about calling for a bunt in the 2nd inning against a hot hitting team with absolutely no bullpen?
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 12:57 AM) Renteria. That was a AA move. As I said last night, he reminds me of a high school softball coach
  15. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 12:56 AM) Send his ass down to AAA. Anderson that is. Grudz isn't exactly impressing down there. Maybe Renteria can go too
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 12:53 AM) Great job Ricky Hope we load up on prospects to trade for a good manager when it's time to compete
  17. Real nice few minutes there. Great electricity
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 12:36 AM) Rodon is all over the place It's uncomfortable to watch
  19. QUOTE (chisoxt @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 12:38 AM) He should be but the kid is just not getting it done You mean in what is basically a spring training start?
  20. QUOTE (chisoxt @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 01:31 AM) When you consider that the Cubs drafting one slot behind us on those years selected Schwarber and Happ, I'm starting to align with Theo's philosophy on NOT drafting pitchers with early round picks. I can understand the Rodon pick but selecting Carson Fulmer was shear ignorance. Rodon is a way more valuable asset than Schwarber
