  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 08:17 PM) Maybe I am just used to White Sox hitters swinging at so many pitches, but it seems to me White Sox pitchers throw a lot more balls than most pitching staffs. I've been wondering if other teams have so many strikeouts on offspeed pitches in the dirt, compared to Sox hitters. Seems like so many this year.
  2. Mariners are teeing off on Gonzalez. Lots of high exit velocities so far.
  3. Abreu - bad...swung at so many pitches out of the zone that at bat
  4. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 08:06 PM) Man Felix must hate facing us. PTSD from Brian Anderson
  5. Amazing that Hendricks has the 3rd best ERA in baseball behind Kershaw and Bumgarner. Sox get him next.
  6. I like them giving Anderson the day off. He's played in every game since he was promoted, and with the king of offspeed pitches on the mound, it was probably a bad match-up.
  7. Turner is pitching on Friday vs Tigers (facing the incredible Fulmer). It's ridiculous he's pitching in a "meaningful" game.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 06:48 PM) Brett Lawrie has been a 1.0 WAR player for the White Sox so far this season and is on a path to being a 1.5-ish guy assuming no dropoff. Baez only has 2/3 the number of at bats, hasn't been an every day player, but has piled up 1.6 WAR already. He's been an above average contributor on offense, defense, and baserunning. He's also versatile, being used at multiple positions without being an obvious defensive weakness. He has cut his K-rate down to 22%, which isn't great yet but it's a major upgrade for him and in a 600 PA season that would leave him with 130ish Ks, which is a manageable number for a guy with decent power. And...he's only 23. I was skeptical about him after seeing him in the minors. He kept us cool with the wind kicked up by his swings and misses and then occasionally hit balls 400 feet. He's impressing me with his adapting at this age. Yep, he's been awesome as a super utility player for them. He'd easily be the 2nd best offensive player on the Sox this year in terms of fWAR.
  9. 1 and 0 since his big speech
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 04:58 AM) Because people expect 4th OFs to be All-Stars on this board. Coming into tonight, he was one of the worst players in baseball in terms of fWAR. Having him become the full time CF was not ideal and it's disappointing Hahn waited as long as he did to find someone to play CF after the Jackson injury.
  11. Impressive by Diaz. Hawk will be talking about that outing for a long time
  12. This ump struggles with accurately calling pitches to his left
