  1. He's just killing this offense. They're just overpowering him with fastballs.
  2. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 08:24 PM) A lot of talk about Abreu's season, but Eaton's been terrible for awhile now, too. If those two continue to not hit, they're in trouble. And you can't have them 1-2 in the order
  3. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 07:50 PM) His exit velocity on line drives and flyballs is down 1 MPH from last year but is still well above league average (93 mph), and he's 5th in the league in average flyball distance, I don't think bat speed is the issue. That's good to hear as well. Is it just his approach is flawed and he's not trying to pull the ball enough?
  4. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 07:48 PM) Loney single... Nothing can be easy. Another fastball when ahead in the count that resulted in a bad outcome.
  5. QUOTE (Coach @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 08:42 PM) You might want to reword what you wrote. Otherwise, it does not make sense. How could you never watch him and think he is unprepared? Meaning I've never seen him while watching him look unprepared.
  6. Rollins trying to hit fastballs batting lefty is funny.
  7. No problem with what Eaton said. He's the one playing and has been successful doing things his way. I've never watched him and thought he was unprepared for a certain pitcher/hitter.
  8. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 07:21 PM) I knew Eaton was slumping, but man have his numbers dropped. He's almost off the first page of the fWAR leaderboard
  9. QUOTE (harkness @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 07:20 PM) just can't get clutch hits... always looks like we are up there sweating and no the pitcher. Tired of the mentality. You get a 3-1 fastball over the plate where he likes it and he takes.
  10. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 07:20 PM) Avila just not doing anything batting. Think Tigers will take him back, as McCann has been awful.
  11. 2 RBI on June 1st from the starting catcher
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 08:14 PM) Uh-oh. Duke warming up. Not the words that you want to hear, but we have no choice but to use him I guess. Ventura would get ripped for using Purke, so there's no way not to be second-guessed with bullpen decisions. Makes sense with their lefties
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 07:13 PM) He was even better in 2014. This season is something in between last year and 2014. Lagares is playing kind of lackadaisical defense in CF for someone with his reputation...he played Shuck's ball earlier into a hit and got a death look from deGrom. Wasn't he bad on defense last year after an incredible 2014?
  14. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 07:04 PM) Seriously.....our bullpen now has like 60 walks in 50 games!!!! There's one guy in the pen right now than can hit 95 mph consistently with his fastball. Lots of nibbling these days.
  15. You walk 7 guys against a terrible looking lineup, you deserve to lose.
  16. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 11:19 AM) League has adjusted to him no denying that. Looking at his batted ball stats, literally every stat is trending down since 2014. He pulls the ball nearly 7% less, his soft contact rate is 6% higher and his HR/FB rate is almost 17% lower. He just doesn't have any bat speed these days.
  17. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 07:52 PM) And even then, he really doesnt. If Avi is hurt, at least he can DH against LHP (even though that should probably be Rollins going forward)
  18. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 06:49 PM) Biggest disappointment since 2011 Dunn. Sounds bad but I never saw this coming, He looks nothing like his old self right now. Reminds me a bit of Puig. Come into the league as an absolute beast, and then never make the adjustments to the league while your bat speed disappears.
  19. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 06:48 PM) I don't blame Ventura for hitting Sands there since the bench is limited. I blame Robin (and Hahn) for allowing Sands to still be the 25th man +1...he truly has no purpose on the team as long as Avi is healthy
  20. Just an awful player this season (Abreu). Going on almost 2 full weeks without an RBI. How hard is it to put Melky 2nd and leave him there! Abreu is 174th out of 180 players in terms of fWAR this year.
