  1. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 08:23 PM) This reminds me of the Carlos Martinez for Peavy discussions Yep, and there are a lot more options for teams than back when Peavy was available.
  2. I don't think there is a chance in hell they trade Hoffman or Sanchez for a rental
  3. Brad Ausmus is having a horrible season as the Tigers manager. They lost another close game tonight, as he pitched to Bogaerts with an open base in extra innings. With the Twins destroying the Yankees, it seems even more likely that Price gets dealt in the next week. Doing more research on it, Bogaerts is great vs LHP and with RISP. Meanwhile, Sandoval has an OPS of .411 against LHP. Tigers fans are calling for Ausmus to be fired.
  4. Article by Rosenthal about Puig http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/los-ang...osenthal-072415
  5. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 02:16 AM) Isn't Puig the pretentious prick? By a few accounts, yes
  6. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 02:16 AM) Has this ever been done before? Trading a player at July trade deadline and then signing same guy as FA in offseason? Cubs with Jason Hammel is most recent example
  7. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 02:02 AM) Because he's electric, puts butts in the seat and when he's not playing with pretentious pricks as his teammates, he has passion for the game that elevates him higher than most players in the majors. I'd definitely gamble on Puig. He won't put butts in the seats if the Sox have 1 reliable starter next year and the Sox lose 85 games
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 02:39 AM) Jeff Francoeur lives! Cubs were a -265 favorite today facing Jerome Williams 10 straight Friday losses!
  9. What I don't get is that the starting pitching goes from a positive to a big negative if you trade Q and Shark. Just getting Puig wouldn't be enough to solve the offensive issues.
  10. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 09:10 PM) Freese in injured. Just have to hope the Angels have some good righties in their lineup to balance out having Conor.
  11. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 10:08 PM) Most people are against trading him for what they'd actually get for him. I don't think many would be opposed to trading him for Puig, Seager, Joc, and Urias. That'd be a ridiculous package. And one that would never happen
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 07:45 PM) I especially despise guys like Hanley who are now lecturing Sox fans/executives about "how to do things the right way" now that the Cubs are doing well. Jesus did that switch get flipped quickly. If/when the Cubs win the Series, this town will be insufferable for a few weeks. I might plan a vacation to avoid it. I've listened to more Fred and Angi or Colin Cowherd the last few months than ever before. The Cubs talk just dominates Chicago radio right now with so much optimism, it makes it look like I'm pessimistic about their future.
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 11:55 PM) My guess is something like Price to Cubs for McKinney, Zagunis, and Tseng/Edwards Dodgers could top that, I hope
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 10:31 PM) Aren't they really toast at SS? Kang will play there
  15. Go Pirates, some much needed offense hopefully.
  16. I'm going to assume today is the day that forces the Tigers to sell on Price. Hopefully the Dodgers get him.
  17. And now supposedly the Indians are listening in on their starting pitchers Follow Jeff PassanVerified account ‏@JeffPassan Sources: Cleveland has been willing to listen on pitching, particularly Carlos Carrasco. May be a match there with Toronto. They've talked.
  18. Maybe Hahn and company wanted prospects that are closer to being MLB ready to fit the window they believe they have? The catcher from the Astros is still a few years away.
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 06:17 PM) Confirms that I have 0.0% confidence that Hahn will swing a good deal. or that teams really won't give up much for a rental
  20. Real nice trade for Astros, as they got a good starter without giving up any of their top 10 guys. Kazmir's numbers are surprisingly great this season.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 05:15 PM) Questions: Does that 100% cover Houstons pitching needs or do they have more? How is that return? Anyone know anything? Keuchel Kazmir McCullers McHugh Feldman
  22. Tigers need to get pitching prospects back in a Price trade, and getting back Edwards, who profiles as a reliever, doesn't seem to fit their needs.
  23. Really hope they don't get Price. Not a fan of him to start with, and if he goes to the Cubs...yuck http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/07/22/lev...ut-david-price/
  24. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 04:14 AM) 1-6 since the break? 1-5, deja vu to start of the season
