  1. Alexei is 165th out of 169 candidates in terms of WAR according to fangraphs. Melky is next to last.
  2. That's probably a home run last year for Alexei. Just doesn't have the bat speed he used to.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 07:23 PM) Stone was talking about Jay yesterday hinting he could be a late season bullpen guy at the major league level before starting his journey to become a starter. Yep, and IIRC, he also said that he highly doubts he's still on the board when the Sox pick
  4. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 05:44 PM) I disagree. What's wrong with having 2 aces and a #2? All 3 of which are bargains for next 6 seasons. I'm not trading Q unless I get a ton in return. It would have had to be as the main piece in acquiring someone like Donaldson.
  5. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 05:15 PM) 5 million is the number supposedly. Draft him and trade him for Konerko's kid in 10 years.
  6. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 03:57 PM) this is me, the whole Scott B presence has be jumpy, that is if he is Fulmer advisor and / or of Fulmer is there at #8 If the Sox were able to sign Rodon, they'll be able to sign Fulmer or any other Boras clients.
  7. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 03:48 PM) no one really knows that, esp if his advisor is Scott B. He'll sign, especially with the draft class being way better next season.
  8. Of all the players in the draft, Fulmer would be the dumbest to not sign (besides for college seniors). He had a fantastic year, and all the issues scouts have with him won't go away by staying another year in college.
  9. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 03:34 PM) No for rounds 4-10 he's saying will be the college seniors. Ah yes, which is ok with me. Rather try to get at least one impact, close to the majors talent as opposed to a few wild cards.
  10. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 04:24 PM) Nobody that they can realistically afford if they go slot at #8. Losing 2nd and 3rd round picks really hurts the draft allotment quite a bit. I'd start studying up on college seniors. For their first pick? I've heard nothing to suggest they'll have to go cheap with the 8th pick.
  11. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 03:50 PM) As in an open workout or invite with a couple first rounders? Invite only generally, and I assume it's for high school players.
  12. Just my preference, but Avi would have been out of the game after his AB in the 8th. No reason to put him back on the field in a blowout.
  13. Time to give someone else a chance to do better than Noesi and Jennings
  14. Weak effort by the offense tonight. Avi doesn't seem to be able to drive the ball with the bad knee.
  15. QUOTE (reiks12 @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 02:02 AM) Amazing what happens to debuting rookies when you don't throw 90 MPH fastballs to them right down the middle Usually big strong guys who strike out a ton struggle with offspeed pitches
  16. Samardzija ERA exploded tonight. Some of the worst stuff I have ever seen him have. Rangers lineup is pretty awesome right now.
  17. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 02:27 AM) Atleast Spencer Adams is dealing tonight? Yes but May and Anderson got into a bad collision
  18. Looks like Anderson and May got into a collision. May left game with head injury, Anderson with shoulder injury
